I called Larry Myers garage door company early in the week and they were able to send out a repairman within 2-3 days which I considered satisfactory. The woman who answered the company phone was nice and knew what my problem was just from my description. The repair man was ontime and had all necessary parts and tools in his truck. He was fast, efficient and answered any questions I had. He not only replaced the garage door opener springs, but checked all hinges, fastners and screws. He replaced missing screws and tightened loose ones. He oiled all hinges and made sure the garage door was going up and down smoothly again. My garage door opener was installed 19 years ago by Larry Myers Garage Doors. This was the only first or second service call I have had to make in those 19 years. I was excited to see they were still in business and were on Angie's list.

.Excellent service. One man arrived as scheduled and did the entire job in one day. Door quality is excellent, seal well, roll smoothly. The openers are "Linear" brand, use DC motors, very quiet, slow down just before the doors are fully closed. They have been in use daily for about a year and a half.

Our garage door had become dislodged due to being hit by a family member whose name will be withheld as to promote harmony in our home. It went flawlessly. Company and technician were responsive, punctual, professional. And at an excellent price. Being treated like this is one of those rare times you can walk away feeling great about having dealt with a company.

He was called about a recurring problem that had been coming and going for months with a garage door opener. Because of the units age I assumed we would have to replace it. Larry diagnosed the problem very quickly and had the opener functioning perfectly within about twenty minutes by replacing a few parts and making some adjustments.
Description of Work: He replaced and repositioned the sensors for the garage door opener and serviced the door mechanism.

I called in the morning and was able to receive service that afternoon. The service gentleman called during the quoted time frame and told me he was on the way. He assessed the problem, gave me a quote for replacing one or two springs. I requested he replace both springs. He was finished in 45 minutes. Left me a sticker if I needed any further service. Explained that the service receipt would also serve to cover the warranty of the springs. He took the pieces that were replaced and left my garage as he found it. He was very polite, professional and I was happy about the 10% Angie's List Discount. I would definitely call them again.

One of the lifting cables on our garage door broke, so the door could not be opened. I called at 6:00 pm on Tuesday and was told that somebody would be out by noon on Wednesday. The repairman showed up at about 11 and replaced both lifting cables by 11:45. The price was what was quoted to me on the phone. I couldn't ask for better.

On Monday June 4th, one of the springs that opens and closes my garage door broke. I called Larry Myers and asked if they could replace it that day. They said they could have someone out in the afternoon of the next day. They informed me it was standard to replace both springs and the cost would be $190; I had a coupon for $10 off from Angies List that I would be using. They called me back a little while later and said they could be out the following morning instead of in the afternoon. Doug came out when promised and set to work replacing both springs. In the past when I opened the garage door, it always seemed to be more noisy than it should be. He pointed out to me it was the light fixture on the opener that was making the noise. Once that was taken care of, I now have a very quiet door.Doug was very friendly and courteous and performed everything in a very professional manner. I couldn't be more happier with the service and quality given me by Meyers Garage Doors as a whole. I highly recommend them to anyone.

About 2:45pm, Anikka called and said the repairman was running a little late and he was on his way. At about 3:10pm, Dave arrived and apologized that he was late. His previous repair became more involved and took longer than anticipated. Dave started right to work and saw that one spring was broke and confirmed that I wanted both springs replaced. We talked for a couple of minutes while he was getting his tools and he started his work. Dave was done in about 40 minutes, after replacing both springs and doing test on the garage door opener and adjusting the chain and lubing it. He checked everything out and was very helpful. Dave was very thorough, cleaned up and took the old springs with him. The bill was exactly the same as quoted by Anikka and Dave took off the $10.00 discount for the Angie's List coupon. Now the door works more efficient and quieter than ever.
Description of Work: After coming home on the weekend, I discovered one of the two springs on my garage door had broke. On Monday monring using Angie's List, I started calling Garage Door people. I spoke with Anikka from Larry Myers Garage Doors and she was very polite and helpful. She quoted me the price to have the one spring repaired and also the benefit of having both springs replaced at the same time. I called around to about 4 or 5 other places and because of the reviews I had read on Angie's List and the phone conversation I had had with Anikka, I decided on Larry Myers Garage Doors and also to have both springs replaced.I called back to Larry Myers Garage Doors and again spoke with Anikka to schedule the repairs. She was able to schedule us in between 1:00pm and 3:00pm that afternoon.

I contacted Larry Myers Garage Doors in January to install two new automatic garage door openers in a house that my wife and I had just purchased. The person who installed the doors showed up when they said they would, did the work as requested, and when he was done we had 2 new spiffy garage door openers to replace the aging ones that had been there previously. If that had been the whole story, this review would be done, and I'd have given them an A. However, there's more to it... While we were away during spring break (the last week of March) we had someone staying at our home for a few days. Near the time she was about to leave, she called in somewhat of a panic saying she could not close the garage door. She was somewhat unclear on the details, and since we were out of town we told her to do her best to get it closed and we would figure out what was wrong with it when we returned. She eventually got it closed -- we don't know exactly how -- and she manually locked it. Upon returning home, I took a quick look at the garage door and with my limited expertise I couldn't see anything obviously wrong with it. So I called up Larry Myers Garage doors, and briefly explained the situation to whoever answered the phone. She took my information and said someone would call be back in a few minutes. Now here's where things get a bit annoying. A person did call me back in about 10 minutes, and somehow magically she had deduced the exact problem I was having from the brief description I had given to the original person who answered my call. She said the problem was that the red "emergency cord" had been pulled, and it needed to be reset. I asked her how she had determined the problem from my description, and she basically said "Well, that's almost always the problem". I told her I was no longer at home, and asked her if she could send someone out, and her response was (basically) no -- I had to check if this was the problem and/or call up Larry himself later in the day when he was back in the office. Now I don't mind looking into things myself, and I certainly don't mind if someone gives me the standard "just reboot your computer to see if that fixes it" answer -- however we had just purchased this system less than 3 months ago, and I was expecting way more of a "hands on" response to any issue that might have occurred in that period of time. I coolly thanked the person I talked to, and ended the call. I was planning on calling Larry later, but before I did, he called me himself a few hours later. He repeated the "It must be the red emergency cord" thing. I told him that even if the person who was staying at are house had pulled the cord to close the door -- it was NOT the original problem. However he insisted that I inspect the cord, reset it if it was pulled, and then and only then would they send someone out "right away". Again, if I had purchased this system 2 years ago, that would seem to have been a perfectly valid response. But we'd bought it less than 3 months ago.... So, when I got home from work I went out to the garage to see if the cord had been pulled, and to attempt to reset it if so. By the way, his description of how to do this was thorough, but was not something easily digestible over the phone -- I was hoping I could figure it out once I had the thing in front of me... But as soon as I took a look at it, I saw this was NOT the problem. The cord looked to be in its normal position. So I decided at this point I needed to be more proactive, since I wasn't too keen on calling them up again at this point. Fortunately, since we had two of the same openers installed side-by-side, I could do a quick comparison to see what might be different from the working and non-working doors. And within a couple of minutes, and a couple of attempts at opening and shutting both doors I found the problem. Apparently the arm-linkage that goes from the door to the sliding chain mechanism has 2 bolts in it that attach two parts of the arm together. And in the non-working opener, one of the bolts had fallen out. So when the opener was engaged, it did some weird flopping-around things, sometimes opening the door partway, sometimes not opening it at all. I found the bolt on the ground, but couldn't find the nut or locking washer. The fix was to go to TrueValue hardware and spend 36 cents for the missing nut/washer, put the bolt back in place, tighten it and the other bolt which was loose as well, and walla! Everything worked. Now it was a trivial problem. And yes, once I had 10 minutes I easily diagnosed and fixed it. But come on, it had to have been a problem with the installation, either the locking washer failing, or the nut just not have been tighted up enough. And I guess I just have a problem if someone says I have to do XYZ first before they'll send someone out -- especially on a brand new system.

We contacted Myers to get an estimate on a garage door replacement. They were originally very responsive and got to the estimate promptly. Their price was reasonable (could replace the damaged panels vs. the entire door for ~ 600). Estimate was performed in early January. We called them back in early February to schedule the service. They took some time to call us back. When they contacted us back they indicated that did not have accurate part information on the quote and told use they needed to get in touch with the person who did the estimate. They then sent someone to our house without contacting us to reassess the estimate and the parts needed. We found that to be unacceptable. This coupled with the missing data with the original estimate made us go with a slightly more expensive company that we felt would do the job properly and more professionally.

Called the company late afternoon on Wednesday. They gave me a price quote over the phone for one spring replacement and dual spring replacement. First appointment available was given as Friday between 1pm-3pm. I took the appointment based on reviews by previous clients. The door technician showed up during the window (2:30pm) and had both springs replaced and out the door by 3pm. I would use them again based on my experience with them. I would also highly recommend them to friends and family because of quality of service and fairness of price.

Our garage door spring broke. I called Larry Myers on a Friday morning. He was unable to get out to our house on Friday, but offered me a discount if I could wait until Saturday. I accepted his offer. He said he would call back either Friday evening or Saturday morning with an estimated time of arrival for Saturday. I didn't hear back from him by 10:00 am on Saturday so I called. Larry told me he had someone on the way and they should be there anytime. Apparently he just forgot to call, but didn't forget about us. Brandon showed up about 10 minutes later. Brandon had the springs replaced and the door lubed all in about 25 minutes. He was very professional. My overall experience was very good and I would recommend Larry Myers. I would use his services again.

My garage door wouldn't go down as the "hockey stick" had come loose (one of the bolts had fallen out). I thought I needed a new opener and called first thing this morning. When he arrived at 10 a.m., he reattached the hockey stick, oiled the rails and told me I didn't need a new opener. I was so relieved and grateful for his honesty. The garage door works great now. The most amazing thing was he wouldn't accept any payment although it took his time to come out and fix the door. This was an amazing gift to me because I've been unemployed since July. Myers Garage Doors installed a new insulated garage door for me in 2008. At the time I got the door, Myers had a great selection and the best price for what I wanted. It has been wonderful, and I have been very happy with it. I would recommend them highly to everyone.

Doug was quick, professional and went above and beyond in his help. Thanks to installers like Doug, I highly recommend Larry's. He did not mind that I asked him questions while he was working, and took the time to help me do future maintenance myself, and know when I may need a new door replacement.
Description of Work: My garage door spring broke, and I called Larry's on Monday am. Doug was able to come out the same day and replace my springs. Doug is great to work with. He explained to me the whole process, and helped me decide whether to just replace or upgrade the springs (I just replaced them without an upgrade). He lubricated the door opener and performed maintenance on the door, such as tightening all bolts, all without extra cost. He also told me what I should use on an annual basis to lubricate the mechanism.

6am....went to put garage door up....on the way down..."crash"....spring broken. Called Larry Myers (had left phone number on card on garage wall 10 years ago when springs were replaced). Actually spoke to Larry. He quoted the price and stated that he would have a repair person here at 1pm. At 1 pm Tech arrived, worked in crowded hot garage. Was very professional , courtious and friendly. Finished in about 30-45 minutes. Paid what was quoted....The End....Except that I'm a pleased and happy customer!

The price was probably several hundred dollars. They did an estimate to see if we needed adjusting or parts or a new motor. We looked at all the options and we ended up getting a new motor. They did a really good job. They got out really fast. They tried to do it the same day, which I didn’t expect at all. They were really nice people and good to work with. I wouldn’t have gone with them if their price was too high, but they were great. I would definitely use their services in the future too and I would definitely tell other people to use them as well.

Overall my garage door seems to be working fine now and I think the price was fair. I just wish they would have completed the several point check on the door after they replaced the spring as they say they do. I actually tried it several times right after the springs were replaced and had to run out in the road to catch the guy and have him come back and fit the roller back in the track. I wish at that point he would have done a more thorough check because I ended up with my garage door off the track one evening a few days afterwards and I could not get it closed and had to have someone come help get the door closed for the night. Then I had to wait a few days before they could come out and replace the rollers. They did reduce the cost of the trip and it is working fine now, so I am happy. I guess the most imprortant thing is that they did get the door working and they charged a fair price. I would use them again and refer them, but I would recommnend that the customer ask them to do a thorough check while they are there to avoid a separate trip charge and biggest of all avoid hassle of not being able to use your garage for a few days.
Description of Work: My spring broke and needed replaced. After the spring was replace my door started coming off the track so I had to call them to come back and replace the rollers.
