Terry was great to work with! He was prompt, thorough, friendly and professional. The work was completed in the time estimated and for a fair price. I would definitely call him for future projects.

The work we’ve had done by Design Fab has been first rate. We moved into a very dated house and we’ve been slowly remodeling to modernize but also retain the late modernist sensibility. Since finding Design Fab, we’ve become repeat clients. Design Fab are great communicators; making us feel comfortable to ask questions and offering wonderful solutions for unforeseen design issues. I appreciate their skill as well as their aesthetic sense. Every single person who has visited our home has noticed their work and offered compliments. I highly recommend them.

Terry was wonderful to work with. He was very communicative, professional, and always punctual. He brought some great design ideas and was also happy to implement my specific needs (vinyl album storage, creative cord hiding, etc). He was able to source and construct a beautiful wall to wall mantle made of reclaimed wood, stained to our desired shade. We also had his team install new tile around our fireplace, and they were very meticulous, even coming back to fix a few tiles that were slightly out of place. I’m very happy with the end result and I highly recommend Terry and his crew of professionals!

Terry Dote is a thorough, very talented designer. He worked with us in collaborative stages, staying patient & persevering while designing, constructing, & installing for 3 separate spaces in our home. One was a challenging, triangular opening along a staircase for which he created a combination of shelving, storage, & privacy for the adjacent bedroom. The second is a floor to ceiling wall of open shelves, giving delineation between the Master Bedroom & the Art Studio while preserving sunlight & Mt. Hood views. The 3rd is a complex, whole wall unit for the Home Office consisting of open & closed storage above & below a wall-length table/desk-top. The solutions were in response to my husband's specific ways of filing & organizing with room for decorative display. All 3 projects are sleek & smart, harmonized with the modern lines of our home. Terry graciously worked with us after the initial plans faced a budget cut. He modified to lower costs without sacrificing the beauty or practicality of any of the 3 projects.

He did a fabulous job starting with the design that I came up with. I had one picture but the design had to be changed along the way based on its placement. Terry was flexible and enthusiastic about all of this. I appreciated his professionalism most of all. He met deadlines and did what he said he was going to do. I think he even went above and beyond his call of duty in order to make sure the booth was what I really wanted. It was a pleasure to work with Terry. He is a man and carpenter of integrity. If I had another project, I would not hesitate to hire him again.

His design added a back mirror and overhead lighting to the bar, a pullout turntable, sliding doors for storing knickknacks and our favorite part: pull out cubbies to store and flip through our records. We also loved his choice of materials and paint choices. We love the functionality of the piece and get loads of compliments on it. It's now our favorite room in the house.

Terry built us a corner unit to house our tv and electronic components that was in keeping with our craftsman home. His input was welcomed and his attention to detail was great! We knew with the drawings ahead of time what to anticipate and his collaboration was easy and fun! He built us a series of shelves and cupboards that angle underneath our stairs as a first project which was massive but he crafted and installed it seemlessly. He's our go to guy for projects big or small indeed!

Terry and team were great to work with. Very collaborative during the design process, with an attitude of "yes, we can make that work." His estimate was roughly 60% of a competing cabinetry-maker. And the communication and install was as promised. Terry even came back to drill additional holes for wires at no cost. All in all, we are extremely satisfied with the final product, and would absolutely hire Terry again.

It went well. I did change the design later, but that was not his fault that I changed my mind.

He came over on time, drew up a working plan and outline where everything could go, and gave me a lot of very useful information.

It went well. They were flexible. We had them in to do some painting upstairs and we had some extra time and they were happy to tackle with other jobs.

Custom work was very well-executed (rate 9 out of 10). Design acumen was extremely valuable and even improved upon our architect's specs (rate 10 out of 10). Problem-solving and creativity was excellent (rate 10 out of 10). Worked very well with many subs (drywall, plumbing, flooring, tiling) that I hired separately (rate 10 out of 10). Collaboration on most custom elements was very good, except the cubbies, which suffered a bit from too many assumptions from all parties (rate 7 out of 10). Went above-and-beyond on several occasions (rate 10 out of 10). Change order pricing was fair and reasonable (rate 9 out of 10). Ability to back-fill with quality service on unexpected issues was excellent (rate 10 out of 10). Overall project management was decent (rate 7 out of 10).

He did a great job. He was easy to work with and pretty prompt. He got part of the work done before the Christmas holidays. So, he kind of jumped through some hoops to get part of the project done for us which was nice.

I can let you know when I see the finished cabinetry.

I purchased 2 separate Big Deals about a month apart for $295 each. The work consisted of installing door & window trim. I had intended to do the work myself, but I just wasn't getting around to it. So my wife insisted that I take advantage of Big Deal offers. We got a lot of work done at a very reasonable price that would have taken me months to do. My problem is that I'm a perfectionist and I didn't find some of the work to be up to my standards. I told him what work I wanted done & then stayed out of his way. When I looked closely at the work after he was gone, I found that the reveal (set-back of the door casing from the frame) varied from 1/8" to 3/8" on the same door, rather than a consistent reveal between the door frame and casing. My dissatisfaction is partly my own doing; I could have been more specific. But, then again, I think that consistent reveal would be standard practice for a finish carpenter.

We have spoken with him and he is willing to honor the coupon. We have been very busy and we will have the work done this summer at some point. He is very professional and he returns communications quickly.

The work is scheduled is scheduled for Wednesday. Getting connected at first was a little bit difficult. I was emailing them and the provider was responding through the Help Desk vs. just establishing direct communication with me. All communication issues have been resolved at this point.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was terrific! I have never used him before. I paid him the $295 for the Angie's List Big Deal. He was very neat, he cleaned up after himself, he was very careful with my property and very professional. I really recommend him.

I had designed what I wanted for the cabinets, and he was able to do what I asked for and made sure I was happy with it. He was neat and professional, and I got what I wanted. I think he charged me $295 just like the first time he came out.

We are very pleased with Terry's work. He designed and installed a new living room entertainment space for us. We were very impressed with his artistic vision and execution of his design. He kept to schedule and budget. Highly recommend!

The work was good when he finally got around to it. They were very pleasant. It took them a long time to get in but they finished the work quickly. I bought two deals, one for $295 and one for $280. I ended up paying an additional $200.
