Chimney Sweep Specialist

The finished chimney looks great but I would not hire this company again because of their lack of professionalism. They would not take responsibility for scratching my gutters even though I have pictures showing where they loaded their blocks onto the roof in the exact spot where the gutters are damaged.

Went great. Originally scheduled for a later date and due to a cancellation I was able to get things done a week ahead of time. Specialist was on time, friendly, efficient and clean. Provided great advice will definitely refer people to them and use them again when services are needed.

Arrived early, covered area around stove with a drop cloth, cleaned the wood stove and put up with my puppy's curiosity. Ryan was fantastic! We will use them yearly from here on out.

Chimney Sweep Specialists responded to my voicemail requesting information within an hour, which I found impressive. They have a 30ft height limit for chimney work. I was not sure of the height of our chimney, so they had me send pictures. The following day two polite professional men arrived to survey the situation. Unfortunately, our chimney is such that they could not perform the work safely. I appreciate that the company sets limits to keep its employees safe, though I was disappointed not to be able to support this company. If you have a more standard chimney, please consider hiring Chimney Sweep Specialists.

Crew arrived on time, assessed problem, laid out tarps. Got to work , saved me $$ by leaving old damper and installing new one above it . Great communication from first call to service day. James was 100% pro: kind, considerate, knowledgable. Dropped price a bit because flue wasn't too dirty. Most of work done inside in living room, and left zero trace of ash, etc. Maybe cheaper service is out there, but it's relief to find a company to trust. Will happily call them in future.

Found that the upper portion of chimney above roof line needs to be replaced. James contacted a mason and got a bid for me, I’m currently waiting for a call back to book appointment to schedule rebuild.

Chimney Sweep Specialist was the quickest to arrive and give me a bid, the cheapest bid by about 30%, and were flexible in squeezing in this quick job in between other jobs. Only problem is that when I went to check the work (re-doing the flashing into two short roof chimneys where they connect to the roof), there were multiple holes in the mortar that hadn't been caulked. There was some caulk, but it missed multiple spots where water would enter. I emailed photos and asked them to return to fix it, they replied, "Yes, we'll return to fix it next week." No oops, no sorry, no acknowledgement that I shouldn't have had to climb on the roof to check the work. So when I followed up a week and a half later to ask if it was done, they said yes, and I checked the work again. It appeared that the holes were filled on one chimney, but not the other. Including two that I literally had sent a picture of in my first email. They were a much cheaper bid than others, so I went ahead and paid but gave them feedback about quality control. UPDATE: I received a message saying 'I will send my main mason over next week to fix everything correctly .'" I will update the review upon completion of the 2nd "fix." UPDATE: I received an apology and responsive email from the company, "My main mason is heading over today to fix what needs to be done and I apologize about my other technician not fixing what he needed to Sent from my iPhone" The work was fixed on January 2nd, almost a month after the original job was completed.

Really well. travis inspected the fireplace and chimney, determined that it did not need to be cleaned and suggested installing a spark arrestor top to the chimney that also prevents rain from entering the top. After conferring with me on the phone he was able to do the instalation on the same visit.
