Mark came to do a bid on our project and inspected the room and woodwork that was to be painted. He was extremely warm, polite and flexible. When he did show up to work, he was not as positive. As I walked through the door, he immediately complained about the quality of work of the drywall. He then informed me that because there was an issue with the drywall, he might have to increase the cost. I then asked him: ?Why was this issue not brought up at the time you gave me the estimate?? He then dropped the subject. He had his co-worker complete the spraying of the wainscoting. Please see photographs for drips. We are very disappointed as we spent quite a bit of money on the finished carpentry and wainscoting. These drips cannot be repaired without causing harm to the woodworking. My biggest issue is with the quality of the work. He was to paint the ceilings and walls. However, he did less than one half hour of prep work and did not prime the drywall. Additionally, he chose not to use any tape to ensure clean edges. Needless to say, that work came out extremely sloppy. When I pointed it out to him, he said that reflecting upon his work, he should have used tape. Please see the photographs for the unevenness and missed spots. When I discussed the issue with him, he replied: ?That is what happens when you work on a holiday.? We were not satisfied and gave Mark the opportunity to fix the errors or we could hire another contractor. He replied we should hire someone else and that he ?was not up to it.? Essentially, Mark does adequate work in relation to prepping finish carpentry for painting. He is good at sanding and caulking. However, I would caution you to hire him ? he lacks attention to detail and willingness to put forth any extra effort for quality. We are currently working with another painting contractor to fix the work. The contractor we are now using now spent approximately 8 hours to fix the sloppy job that Mark completed I caution you to use this company, it will cost you more in the long run to fix his work and could damage your woodwork.
