+ -1 moreIt went very well. The area rug looks clean and smells clean. We have 2 puppies (need I say more) and the rug was stained from them. Apparently Atiyeh cleaned the stains at least 4 times to make sure the stains were gone. The techs picked up and delivered the rug on time. They were very pleasant and helpful.
Description of Work: They picked up our 8x10 white shag area rug for cleaning on 4/16 and returned it on 4/23/10.

+ -1 moreThe manager came on the date and time he said he would come to inspect the rug and give me an estimate. The rug was picked up on the date and time he said they would come. They delivered the resized rug on the date and time they said they would come. In addition, they vacuumed the rug as they laid it in the living room, ensuring that it was straight and did not cover the furnace floor vent.
Description of Work: They cut down an oversized living room rug per my instructions, bound the cut side of the rug to match the opposite side, and replaced the fringe on both ends of the rug.

Description of Work: Atiyeh Brothers does a great job cleaning the carpets at my work. We usually have them do this once per year. They are always great about showing up when they say they will be there and always do a fantastic job for us for a very reasonable price. Last year they even did a deep cleaning on a couple of reception chairs for us; the chairs looked like new when they were done with them.

We took advantage of that to save a little money, but the operation was great. That is what they specialize in. They finished the rug on time and the price was reasonable. The rugs are very clean and very well done.

+ -1 moreTerrific. I got a phone call and the rug was available on the day promised. I went to pick it up and they rolled it out so I could see it. I decided to go ahead and have them remove the fringe and glue back the remainder. I left the rug there to have this done - received another phone call in a week and I am very happy with the result - I could definitely tell the rug is cleaner and I am happy I removed the fringe.
Description of Work: I dropped off my 2'3" x 10' 7" oriental runner to have it cleaned at the Tigard location. I was told the rug would be taken to their cleaning facility on the East side and returned to the Tigard location. I would receive a phone call letting me know when my rug would be available for pick up. I presented the first time customer coupon that I found on their website and a $13.00 discount was taken. Aaron helped me and answered my questions. We talked about the options for cleaning or removing the soiled cotton fringe on each end of the rug. He suggested they clean it first and that afterward I could decide whether I wanted them to remove the fringe. Aaron assessed the rug and told me that the cotton does not clean as well as the wool so I may not see that much change in the fringe after cleaning but that this is common. It was helpful to get this information up front - he also showed me a rug that they had removed the fringe from so that I could see what it would look like if I decided to go that route. He also told me that if my piece was an antique, heirloom (it was not) or of higher value his recommendation would have been different. I felt he gave me good and honest information so I could make my decision about the fringe.

Description of Work: We use them for carpet cleaning. We have used twice. They are expensive but very good. The same individual came out both times. We like the hot water extraction method. We used them in August of 2008. We had some pet damage and the carpet is ten years old.

We delivered our carpets to the Tualatin store and they were logged in, inspected and the store representative pointed out any areas he felt might pose cleaning problems. We were given a receipt, claim number and our coupon was honored. We were contacted promptly upon completion of the job. Since we had new wood floors being installed and that is a VERY dusty project, the representative at Atiyeh agreed to hold the cleaned rugs until our project was complete.
Description of Work: Performed regular thorough cleaning and inspection of multiple Asian rugs, runners and smaller scatter sized rugs. Honored discount cleaning coupon, cleaned as promised and agreed to hold until contacted.

+ 0 moreI had a cat that kept having accidents and the whole area was absolutely flawless after they left. You cannot tell at all that there was some sort of problem with the rug. Everything does smells fresh again. I think that they are excellent. I would not use anyone else.
Description of Work: Atiyeh Brothers cleaned the carpeting on the stairway and all the upstairs carpeting. I also had them clean a chair and a sofa.

+ -1 moreTony spent time when I brought the rugs in, telling me what they could do and determining my preferences. He wasn't sure what they could do with the section that had the "bite" out it. They did a beautiful job. That edge was completely restored. These two rugs had been in storage for 20+ years. Atiyeh's gave them new life.
Description of Work: Repaired two Oriental rugs, overcast ends, edge-wrapped sides to prevent further unraveling. One edge had a "bite" out of it. This part was repaired.

+ -1 moreMy rugs had endured 15 years of wear and tear from two rowdy dogs. The fringe was severely worn on both rugs and the binding was coming loose on the larger Bokara. They suggested removing the fringe and putting a new cotton binding all the way around the Bokara. They did an great job of matching the color and the rug looks almost like new. They turned the fringe under on the smaller rug I use in my entryway and did a small repair to one of the the corners that was unraveling. They also did a good job of cleaning the rugs and told me a little of their history and where they were made. All-in-all a good experience.
Description of Work: Cleaning and repair of two wool oriental rugs: a 4x6 and a 5x3. They provided pickup and delivery.

That being said, I called Atiyeh with my issue and they agreed to take care of it immediately. In fact, they picked the rug up from my house. I got it back shortly thereafter in pristine condition. I would definitely use them again!

I was told it would take about 3 weeks until they would be ready to pick up, but I was called much sooner. Staff there were quite friendly!

+ -1 moreI've had them do this service several times before and as always, they were well-organized, on time, completely professional. The loose rug tech (Rick) knew quite a bit about oriental rugs--we talked a bit about the fringe & how rugs are made and whether my antique needed some repair work. He also offered to mark the position of each rug so that it could be rotated when they placed it after cleaning. Rick came for both pick up and delivery, each time with an assistant, so it went quite fast, but with due care for fragile items on furniture that had to be lifted.
Description of Work: Cleaned 3 oriental rugs, one of which is an antique. Replaced mat under small rug gratis. Pick up & Delivery.

They took the furniture the day before I left town for a meeting and returned it a week later just after I had returned, so I didn't miss it too much. They work quickly and were careful of other furniture, lamps, etc. After cleaning, everything was placed where I wanted it.

+ -1 moreI have used Atiyeh Brothers before. The men who picked up and returned the rugs were punctual, courteous and professional. My rugs look wonderful. The repairs were done by hand, and I can't tell which ones were repaired because they all look great. I received a $17 discount for writing a check. They called with the repair estimate before going ahead, and it was very close to the deliveryman's preliminary estimate. They stored my rugs for two weeks because I was on vacation when they would normally have returned them, which would have been one week after picking them up.
Description of Work: They picked up five area rugs (3 Karastans and 2 Moroccans); cleaned them; repaired two of them; and delivered them back to my home.

+ 0 moreNo problem at time of pick up - everything seemed fine. When we had one of the carpets home and on the floor, we noticed a stain that had not come out along with "white thread piles". Upon calling them, they explained that the stain was such that it was very difficult to remove and that the threads were part of the warp of the original stitching and was due to the carpet being so worn. They offered to take another look at it so, I brought it back in. They said that they would work on the stain again and try to delicately cut the visible threads. When I brought it home and had it down again, the stain was much less apparent, as were the threads. They were very accommodating with my concerns and their subsequent follow up was very good. I would feel comfortable with using them again but, I would look at the rugs thoroughly before I left their plant and furthermore, discuss any possible issues with them when I brought the rugs in for cleaning so there would be no surprises.
Description of Work: We took three oriental rugs, two upholstered chairs and 5 sofa pillows to the cleaning facility on SE Division (we chose to do our own delivery and pick up as it saved some money). Note that before this, they came out to give us an estimate of cost. We also had another major oriental carpet cleaning company out for estimate. I felt comfortable with both companies but, chose Atiyeh Bros. as the cost was substantially less.

We elected to drop it off and they were very helpful unloading and then loading. The employee noted some moth damage and we discussed the damage and how to prevent in the future. Picking up, we dropped another, smaller rug off and the office personnel were also efficient and helpful.

Description of Work: THIS COMPANY'S PERFORMANCE WAS OK. WE HAD THEM CLEAN A 6' X 12' ORIENTAL RUG. THE FRINGE, THEY COMMENTED, WAS TOO HARD TO CLEAN AND SUGGESTED CUTTING IT OFF. THAT WAS QUITE ABSURD. THE RUG, HOWEVER, WAS RETURNED PRETTY WELL CLEANED.
