I phoned Ramon - along w/ 3 other AL referrals - to get an estimate for painting the exterior of my home. He phoned me back the next day and we set up a time to look @ the house. Ramon arrived on time and emailed me a bid the following day. His bid was a little bit ($150) more than one other I received; however, Ramon's service level far surpassed that of the lower bidder and we made arrnagements to begin painting the last week of Aug. Lucky for me ... Ramon was able to begin painting a week early. While I knew the body color of the house, I asked Ramon to suggest shades of white for the trim. (His suggestion was fantastic!) The crew began prepping my home on a Wed and completed the job Friday afternoon. (The prep was made a bit easier as I have aluminum siding so not a lot of scraping was involved.) To say they did a fantastic job is an understatement! They cleaned up each day, asked questions as they came up and were very professional (and friendly)! As shallow as this may read ... there are few things that compare to neighbors (and stranges alike) commenting on the appearance of your home ... particularly when there is nothing but positive feedback! I have no reservations in recommending PHP for any painting projects and would absolutely use again!!!

They came one day to power wash, the next to caulk and then spent the next 2 days to paint the 2 coats of main color and trim. Results were fantastic. After the walk through we wanted a couple of minor things changed and Ramon sent his crew the next day to fix. Would definitely use these guys again.

We wanted to take advantage of an Angie's List "Big Deal". We purchased the coupon and contacted the owner Ramon. He was very polite and set up an appointment for an estimate. It turned out that our house was larger than the "Big Deal" allowed but he did give us an equal discount for the total cost. During the estimate Ramon went into great detail about what they would do, when and how. He also reviewed our home for anything unusual that would add to the cost (he didn't find anything). PHP does all of the labor and generally has the customer supply the paint. (We used Behr and his employees said they thought it was good, not too thin and went on very well.) Eventually we settled on an approximate date (a week when we thought there would be some sunshine) to have the job done. The job happens in three stages, pressure wash (wait a couple of days to dry), patch and repair any defects in the siding and then painting. (two coats, first spray and then roller any tough areas). We used three colors, the house color a different trim color and an accent color for our front door. The date came and although there were scattered showers predicted they cleaned the exterior, made the small repairs (mostly filling knots, etc.) and then waited for a sunny day which turned out to be a few days later. Three workers including their boss, Jesus, arrived each day and went right to work. Ramon stopped by twice and then returned when they had finished to go over everything personally and wanted to be sure we were satisfied with their work. We were! In addition to the exterior painting we had recently replaced our front and rear doors and asked Ramon if they could paint the inside and outside of those which wasn't a problem. (We paid a little extra, but it was very reasonable.) During the painting the workers were very careful to cover and protect the plants and flowers growing next to the house. They covered any area that might get overspray including the drive, walkway, patio, etc. None of our plants suffered any damage. When they painted the interior of the doors they took great care to cover everything nearby, put up plastic sheeting to catch any overspray and protected the floors as well. All of the employees worked very hard and were quite friendly. Each day after they finished work they cleaned up everything to the point that you wouldn't have known they were there. When they completed the job they took away all of the empty paint buckets, cans, removed all of the tape, plastic, etc. The place was spotless. Overall we were very impressed with everything from start to finish. The house looks great and we couldn't be happier with the time and care Ramon and his folks took to do a very professional job. We think the price was very reasonable and would highly recommend Professional House Painters to anyone considering painting their home (interior or exterior).

PHP did an excellent job. Our house looks beautiful and there is not a drop of paint where it shouldn't be. The crew was professional and friendly. Ramon is very responsive and personable. Overall, it was a pleasure working with PHP. We would definitely use them again. Thank you!

Ramon is very informative and helped me pick out the color. He went into detail with that. He does Miller paint and Sherwin Williams paint; both excellent 20 year paint. Ramon told me what to do with them and that they will last 12-15 years. He told me to call him every year for a $100 pressure wash to make sure I get 15 years out of the paint. There was a lot of prep work to do on this because the last time we did it we did not hire professionals so it had a lot of peeling paint. Given the circumstances I am really happy to get 10 years out of it. His price also included prepping, painting and hanging back up our black shutters. They had very good quality and were good to work with. I will use them again in the future.

Ramon's crews were just as professional and courteous as he was. They were focused on the job; worked quickly but very carefully and efficiently. The prep work was fantastic and when the actual painting day came, a bigger crew arrived and WOW! They had guys on brushes doing trim, rollers doing the overhangs, sprayers doing the body and gutters....and everyone was working hard and fast and the house was suddenly finished with lots of sunshine left in the day to dry it. The site was left spotless and everything put back on the house. I'm thrilled!! This was by far a better experience than I had with the previous painter and I would (and Have!) recommended them other people already.

We purchased a big deal from Angie's list. We contacted Ramon and he responded promptly. We made an appointment for him to look at our home. Due to the wet weather he was unable to paint for about a month. As soon as the weather cleared he contacted me and we made arrangements to get the job done. Ramon's crew was great. They were exceptionally courteous and very capable. They were able to get the entire house painted in a very short period of time. The house looks great! We were more than pleased with Professional House Painters and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Fantastic job! Ramon contacted me shortly after I left a message and met with me the following day. He was on time, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. He explained the entire procedure in detail and was able to answer all questions. Once we decided to hire Ramon, we set a few different dates. (Rain in Portland--no surprises there.) After the weather finally cooperated we were able to get started. I was very nervous about picking a paint color. Ramon helped be through the entire process which was a HUGE help. After all, I have to look at this house for another 10 years or more. Ramon and his crew came out one day to prep the house and the following day painted. The crew worked very hard and did an amazing job. After the job was complete, Ramon took us around the entire house explaining what they had done and checked to see if there were any areas that needed touch up. If he spotted something, he quickly called his crew over to make sure it was done correctly. All supplies and areas were left clean and neat. My brother-in-law who use to be a professional painter commented on the excellent job they had done. Ramon's special attention to detail, friendliness, knowledge, and willingness to "do whatever it take" was impressive and I would HIGHLY recommend Ramon and his crew.

Ramon responded to my request for an estimate promptly, accommodated my request in scheduling. The workmen were extremely courteous, thorough, and professional. The house and trim were painted in just 2 days, and cleanup was excellent. I am very happy with my experience.

We were very please with the service and professionalism of Professional House Painters. The bid was right on. They did a great job. They cleaned up every day after work and our house looks great.

I've been an Angie's List member for years and always check the companies thoroughly. I was alerted about this company because of their "AngiesList Big Deal". After reviewing other client's comments and ratings, I went ahead with PHP. Ramon (the owner), was very professional, explaining everything in detail, wanting to ensure I was completely satisfied. His crew did an outstanding job. And I'm extremely picky! I'm already recommending PHP to my friends. Was super happy to have connected with a trustworthy company that does what they say, all at a reasonable price.

Very well overall. Hard to choose one of the bids.

We first met with Ramon in the late summer of 2009 when we contacted a few painting companies to get quotes to help with our budgeting. Ramon's bid came in competitively. We didn't hire Ramon until the summer of 2010 and did this based on his Angie's list reports and the level of professionalism he brought to the bidding process. Ramon was also very understanding of our renovation schedule so there were some unknowns until the project actually began. We scheduled the work at the end of the season in order to give us time to complete our exterior renovation but we ended up being just over a week behind schedule. Ramon was flexible and we were still able to start late and get the job done before the bad weather showed up. His crew worked hard and did a thorough job. They were professional on the job and kept the work site clean. They also worked well with our siding crew and other contractors on site. During the final walkaround, we noticed a few touch up areas and these were taken care of immediately. Overall, the paint work met our expectations and the end result looks great. I would recommend Professional House Painters for exterior work and will also consider hiring them for interior work should we need to.

Ramon and his team were punctual, thorough and overall very easy to work with. The quality of the work was outstanding and the price was reasonable. I have used several painters in the past -- and Professional House Painters was by far the best.

Ramon and I arranged a eek for his crew to return to repair some areas that failed due to 1928 oil/lead base paint that caused some bad spots on the original job. Ramon's crew came over and did a great job repairing the work .. I swear the job looks better than the first time. All repair work was gratis .. Great Job Ramon.

The paint job is just beautiful. Ramon and his team were very professional; Ramon is very responsive as he returns messages promptly. I had a lot of questions as I was trying to compare four bids--Ramon explained everything clearly and did not seem bothered by all my questions. They cleaned up after themselves each day and worked very neatly. I'm a stickler for a clean worksite--they left no trash or debris. A friend commented to me that she'd never seen a neater paint job--no drips, no runs and no paint on faucets, door handles, hinges or other places it should not be.

I got four housepainting quotes early this spring. All were within a few hundred dollars of each other. But of all the people I asked to quote, he was the most prompt and professional to return my call, come to the house for a walkaround, and then tell me item by item how his job would be professional. We then had a long waiting game between getting HOA approval and then waiting for the rains to stop, but the end result was worth it.

Ramon Machain came to our house the same day I called. He is professional, and very knowledgeable. He emailed us the estimate the next day which included everything we discussed. I also received 3 other estimates all $800 to over $4000 higher. We went with Ramon because of the favorable ratings on Angies List and it turned out to be a smart decision. His crew arrived exactly when scheduled, were friendly and more importantly competent painters. Four men spent 3 1/2 days painting the house, they never rushed or took shortcuts. Ramon and his crew did a great job, the house looks terrific and Ramon was a pleasure to work with. He answered all of our questions and communicated throughout the project. I would hire Professional House Painters again.

We communicated through e-mails and the telephone and set up a time for the work to be performed. Ramon was concerned about an upcoming rain storm, but he showed up at the appointed time. With the help of his assistant, the work was performed in the nick-of-time. He expedited the drying of the paint by using a blow-dryer, so that the upcoming rain wouldn't cause any damage to the newly painted surface. Success!!

Went well. Ramon came over promptly to prepare the esimate and provided a great price. His crew came and pressure washed the structure, a 1928 residence that had recently had old asbestos siding and significant repairs performed. They removed staples and nails, and calked the entire home. Jose had his crew sand the house for 2 days, and then they applied the primer, and then the colors, drying the paint each day. The result is art, to me. And although the restored home has much more detail, with the help of Ramon, and Jose, the detail just looks better the closer I get. We are very happy with the result, and we have received quite a number of compliments from neighbors and friends. A great job.

Ramon was very prompt and courteous in coming over to do an estimate and he emailed the estimate to me the next day. Jose the job manager, along with Ramon, was very good at noticing extra things that needed attention on the house, and made good suggestions about color details. They were careful to remedy any little things that we noticed in the "walk around". The crew worked very hard and were very polite, and the results look great!

It was great. We had to wait for the weather to cooperate and by the time it did, I was out of town for work. Ramon and I stayed in touch by phone and he jumped on the project when the timing was right. It looks great and they did a great job, though I'm not sure I'd spend $500 on it again-- not due to their work. It seems like something I should do myself.

Ramon Machain was very responsive and personable. He insisted on a personal walk-around so that we would both be clear on the work desired and what would be possible. His crew is professional, tidy and did a great job. The work was done to accommodate our schedule more than his. I really appreciated his work, professionalism and crew.

Ramon and his crew were so great to work with. We had to change our start date by a few days and he was very accommodating. The work took three days. Day 1 - they pressure washed. Day 2 - two days later they came back to prep, which included removing bad caulk, re-caulking, scraping and sanding. The crew was there for at least 10 hours that day. I felt that they were very thorough. Day 3 - they painted the entire house! Again they were there until the sun started to set. This group does fantastic work! I would definitely hire them again.

Overall, it went very well. Ramon miss-estimated how much paint was required because our siding turned out to be quite dry. As we were buying the paint, it required two trips to the paint store. The two painters on the job were very professional, careful and tried to please. We were very happy with the product. I would use them again.
