The whole experience was very difficult and we foolishly paid the bill before the work was finished and of course he walked off the job and never came back. The deck was done satisfactorily however, we have since been told by a couple of indpeendent contractors that it still needs to be strengthened. The closet looked really nice however the drawings which were promised orginally never materialized so of course it was done wrong. He did go in and fix the design so it looked very nice when it was finished. However, little did we know that the way it was constructed was just not fit to do the job. Some of the rails were held up with single screws into drywall and they literally fell off the wall once they had any clothes hung up. Some of the shelving which had rails underneath was also installed with drywall screws which meant it pulled right away from the wall once we hung clothes. We had to get someone else to fix the work and re-enforce where he had missed screwing into studs or not used drywall fixings. The bi-fold doors were not lined up and depite asking for them to be straightened, he never did it. He never did the other two items on the list. The worst issue was that we were given a sob story about needing paying before the job was done. Out the goodness of our hearts and the fact it was the holidays, we foolishly did it and of course we never saw him again. We tried to contact him several times and initially he said he was coming over to finish the jobs. We were given a few excuses then he simply stopped returning our messages. He was supposed to be paid time plus materials and we asked several times for the receipts to back up what he said materials had cost but he never supplied them. We have no idea if he was telling the truth or not but the way he acted about everything else makes me wonder. He really left us in trouble because we had flooring guys waiting for him to finish his jobs and we had to go and pay someone else in to take over. As a guy starting out to set up his own business, it pains me to have to write this review but I want to make sure that people are warned. His quote to me "I know it's easier to see things on paper sometimes , but I think we both know that the job will be done right through and through !" What a joke...except I am not laughing.
