Corvallis Family Medicine used to be a great clinic when it was run by Drs. Piepmeyer and Rampton. Since they've both retired, it has become a very strange practice. The lobby is empty, yet they treat longtime patients like my family as though we're bothering them. They cant seem to get the insurance billing straight - I had to make 5 trips there to correct the same mistake over and over. And the front desk staff both check people in and answer appointment calls, meaning you may have to wait 10-20 minutes after arriving to check in. Heaven forbid this makes you one minute late for your own appointment - I was refused service after standing in line for 15 minutes because it was then 10 minutes past my appointment time. Left in March after 8 years with this clinic and wont be going back.

Description of Work: My family had been using CDMA for almost 10 years. Went because we picked a wonderful doctor that left several years ago. Since then their service in all aspects has dwindled. My wife was waited several hours in the waiting room because she called in for an appointment with the on call doctor. Anyone that walked in off the street automatically took precedence over her needs. Then there are the several time that we were several minutes late but less than 15 minutes late to an appointment and got hit with the $30 fee and not allowed to see a doctor. I also agree with the other comments of poor bedside manner and shuffle you through your visit ASAP.

I am in shock to think I was turned down as a new patient by an ex-Navy doc when I am retired (and 80% disabled) from that same Navy for ridiculous reasons like "we don't like your insurance (Tri-Care ... which I get from being retired Navy) and that they do not "like the meds you are taking" athough they are prescribed and I am using them as directed. These people are obviously looking for income and NOT looking to help people who need a Doctor. Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath? Even if they called me and told me they had a change of heart, I will NEVER darken their doors. Beware. Avoid this greediness. The above comments are my opinions.
Description of Work: I asked to be added as a new patient (Dr. Quiner is accepting them). I sent a questionnaire back via FAX but the called me and declined to add me as a new patient. I was astounded when I asked them why. "We don;t like your insurance (TriCare) or the meds you are taking". My medications are prescribed by a doctor and I am taking the prescribed amount. Also, TriCare is retire military secondary insurance, and the Dr. I wanted to get was a prior U.S. NAVY Doc. Avoid these people. They are in it for the money.

She is a great doctor. I like her a lot. She is thoughtful. She seems to spend the time that she needs, but then, I am a pretty healthy person. Her staffs are pretty nice. They seem alert, aware, and quick.
Description of Work: Dr. Lara Gamelin is my primary care physician.

Dr. Mark Rampton seems like a nice guy but he is not a good doctor. He asks about signs and symptoms, but does not listen and internalize the answers. In the end Dr. Rampton misdiagnosed me. He did not respect the diagnosis of diverticulitis given by the internal medicine doctors at the hospital. Since I have had diverticulitis multiple times I tried explaining to Dr. Rampton that my symptoms were consistent with my past diverticulitis episodes. He simply would not listen to me and insisted on another condition with which the signs and symptoms did not match mine. Because Dr. Ramptons refused to listen and internalize the signs and symptoms he misdiagnosed my pain as something other than diverticulitis which resulted in a lot more pain, lost work, wasted money and more visits to another doctor. Dr. Rampton seemed to feel that being a doctor for 35 years means that he is a good doctor. I'm here to say, just because someone has been practicing for 35 years does not mean they are a good doctor. I do NOT recommend Dr. Rampton as a General Practitioner or an OB. The next time I need to see a doctor right away, and my other doctor is not available, I will go to urgent care.
Description of Work: I have been a patient with Corvallis Family Medicine for a while and normally see another doctor. This was my first experience with Dr. Rampton as a primary care giver. I came into the office because of continuing issues with diverticulitis while pregnant.

Dr. Piepmeyer became angry with an innocent comment I made about possible future treatment. Has has always seemed in a hurry and too willing to "try" this and that for my condition, rather than taking time to consider what might be best for my specific back problem. Going to find a different primary physician now, as he was not only impatient last visit, but stunningly rude.
Description of Work: Back exam, after PT for work related injury. 10 minute interview and brief exam.

Same as above.
Description of Work: I see Bette every year for my annual exam. The staff are always professional, cheerful and friendly. The nurses take the time to answer my questions. Bette is thorough and always shows an interest in me as a person, not just as a patient. I usually have at least one health concern to discuss. Both Bette and her nurse Erin listen to me and then work with me to diagnose the issue and suggest follow up treatments, if warrented. Mostly they are reassuring and calm, and don't make me feel as though they have to rush on to the next patient, even though I know they are booked heavily every day. This exam was no different from past appointments.

When I go to see my doctor, it takes as long as it needs to take. He listens and is open. He isn't a demanding physician. He listens to my input as well as his own medical judgment. I found him on a fluke when I moved here. I have been going to him for twenty years.
Description of Work: I go to this practice for primary care. I last went for an annual check-up.

The appointment went very well. Dr. Rampton was on time, very personable, asked for lots of details to better understand the nature of the injury. He drew pictures to describe the nerve pathways in my hand, gave me a time frame for the healing process, and outlined stages of sensitivity I might experience during the process.
Description of Work: This was my first appointment with Dr. Rampton. It was a follow-up for a hand injury incurred while I was traveling abroad. As a result of the injury, I lost feeling in my thumb, and the purpose of the visit was to try to determine if I could do anything to regain feeling.
