We hired Preferred Landscaping to replace our run down lawn with Syn lawn and power wash our pavers and replace the sand. They were easy to communicate with and understood what we were looking for as far as design. We ended up having some trouble with our downspout drainage and asked if they could add that to the job and Dave very quickly accommodated us and was able to take care of that as well. All the guys on the crew were polite and friendly. We now have a beautiful backyard that we are proud for people to see. We are so happy with our choice!

I've used them for several years to maintain a midsized suburban lawn. The current fee for this is $165 monthly. The crews show up on time, are courteous, and do a good job, but there are improvements the company could make. Even though the fee is billed monthly, in December and part of January there is no service. The lawn is dormant, but if I'm paying monthly, I expect some kind of yard maintenance that could be done during the winter in return. I've also had spotty service fixing lawn irrigation issues, and the staff is not well trained about limiting damage or cleanup issues to the home related to their work. Leaf blower use damages the siding and removes topsoil, and edge trimming often sprays mud up onto the walls, which must be cleaned up frequently. I think they rely too much on leaf blowers instead of using rakes in areas where the blowers create problems. The company has never asked for my feedback about their service and how it could be improved.

We will work on training our crews better to clean up after themselves and better take care of the yard. Our service is every other week in December and in January. We service all our our maintenance customers both months usually two times in the month depending upon which day their yard service is. Your yard was serviced twice in December and twice in January. If you have any other lawn irrigation issues we are happy to fix them if you could give them office a call and I can give you the managers numbers for both maintenance and irrigation issues. Our yard definitely looks a lot better but we were unhappy about several things. The regrading on the north side of the house didn't fix the standing water problem. A number of areas of the new lawn died and they wouldn't replace the sod but said that the grass would regrow in the fall. It didn't do so although a small part of it did regrow. They failed to put in a sprinkler head to reach some rose bushes and said they would come back and fix it but didn't. They kept saying that it would be finished in a week or two and months later it still wasn't done. We had to keep putting off another contractor because they still weren't done.

We have had Dave & his diligent crew help us multiple times with landscape design & yard maintenance. They have created stairs, put in water sources, sprinkler system repair, planted, fall & spring clean-up, & our favorite landscape lighting. David and his crew did an awesome job! David met with us and helped us execute our vision. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They did a great job tearing out the lawn, removing bark, moving the irrigation system, planting trees, pouring a new patio, and placing stepping stones. David and Carlos (the foreman) paid great attention to detail and made sure everything was accurate and complete. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely hire them again.

The crew was very punctual and professional. The job was completed in 2 days. There were some problems with the new sprinkler heads popping off due to water pressure. The sprinkler heads were replaced and the water pressure was adjusted. A great job overall!

Steve and his team are always on time, very knowledgeable, and keen on making the finished job as personally satisfying as possible. They planted only pet friendly flowers and trees as requested, and pulled together a beautiful backyard I am proud to own. Steve works on a budget established up front, and makes adjustments only after discussion with his client. I was especially happy the crew was quiet in the early morning when possible, allowing my neighbors to sleep! Very thoughtful! We have also chosen this team to do weekly maintenance. I am so happy when I get home from a long day and see my yard. It looks great all the time now. Its all about the details. I highly recommend this business for any landscaping need, big or small. You will not be disappointed.

At first i liked them but the plant failed and the customer service, they died because of lack of response. so I think it was the customer service that is not really good.

Our experience with Preferred was really terrific. I found my interactions with Steve, who bid our job, to be very informative. He responded to my questions in a timely manner over email or via cell phone text. He provided me a terrific contact at Farmington Gardens so that I would be able to choose and purchase my plants ahead of the start date. On the day of the job, Steve arrived and introduced me to his crew - Roberto and Lisaur. He walked through the yard and explained to his crew what we had planned to do. Roberto and Lisaur were such hard workers, very polite and thorough every day they worked at our home. They cleaned up after the job was over and we are very happy with our new functioning sprinklers and landscaped areas.

Aaron and his team were right on time. They walked around the yard with us and we discussed what we wanted done and made a priority list. The two men who did the work did a great job! They cleaned up and repaired the places where they had dug up the shrubs so the ground was level. They hauled away all the debris and cleaned out all the plant beds. They also fertilized the grass. We have used Preferred several times before for hardscaping and sprinkler installation but this is the first time we have had a crew come and do clean-up, pruning etc. Aaron and his team had the same attention to detail, commitment to doing a good job and standing by their work as David and his team had. We highly recommend them!

Very well. Dave met with me to understand what I wanted and put together a design at no charge. Another company did the same but Preferred was the company I chose to proceed with. They scheduled me several weeks out. The crew was professional, courteous and pleasant. The job took about 5 work days spread out over about 10 total days. The result was fantastic!

When Dave got done with my French drain i told him i was having trouble with my pond in the back yard. Every year I had to rebuild it, leaks, leaves and debris. I asked for a quote to replace it and decided to have Preferred do another project for me. Again very please with the design and sound of the running water. The crew was very courteous and kept me informed of what they were doing and if liked the placement of the stone. My wife is very pleased with the results and can't wait to be able to sit outside when the weather gets warmer. THANKS Preferred!

I had some landscaping done about a month ago and was very pleased. I contacted Dave to get a quote for a french drain. My crawl space was flooding because of the recent heavy rains. Because of the last experience with Preferred I decided to go ahead with the project. They showed up early on the first day. It was a fairly dry day so work went along as planned. The next day it poured and the crew was able to show me how much water was going into the trench and how it was flowing. They finished it up on the next day. I'm very happy on how it look and I know that it works. Will be calling Preferred for my next project! Special THANKS to the hard working crew.

Using a combination of river rock, lava rock, and gravel, David designed a space that looks amazing and will serve us well for years to come. David was also flexible with the design and kept the backyard from looking like just a quarry with thoughtful placement of the lava rock in decorative shapes. They took an overgrown, unmaintained backyard that was never used and turned it into a really lovely hardscaped area that we use all the time. I highly recommend David Jensen and Preferred Landscape Services.
