Dave's Garage Doors

I spent probably $200 on that work. They were fine and I would recommend them to others. The quality of work and the price were both good values.

Called at about 2PM w/ a broken spring. Phone was promptly answered and I was told someone would be here before 5. Technicians arrived before 5. Replaced the single spring that was broken with 2 new springs. Checked and lubed the screw rail and rollers. Added some reinforcement that was needed. Adjusted the function of the door opener so that the correct tension was applied (I was forcing the door down too hard.) Advised me on proper technique for lubing the necessary parts of the door. (update: not sure that I received the $10 off my bill, which was the coupon being offered -- I mentioned Angie's List but forgot to confirm the $10, so be sure to specify that you want the $10 off.)

They gave me an estimate over the phone on what I thought the problem was. The door would just bounce up & down without opening when you pushed the button. The technician arrived right on time, was very personable, and quickly confirmed the carriage assembly was the problem. He replaced it quickly, and then oiled the hinges & rollers, plus greased the screw drive. Final price was the phone estimate right to the penny. The door now works like a charm, and I would definitely use Dave's again.

Our spring broke on a Saturday (of course) and we assumed that we'd be paying a higher "weekend" price. I had originally scheduled another company, but their price seemed high to me so I called Dave's based on their great AngiesList rating. They gave me a better price estimate over the phone than the other place, so I scheduled them to come out on Monday (they were already booked for Saturday). They arrived at the scheduled time, replaced both springs with an upgraded (bigger diameter) pair of springs. The technician was in and out really quickly, well under an hour. Before he got started, he did some suggestive sell techniques - he suggested the opener should be belt driven and that our plastic rollers would need to be replaced with something better at some point. However he was not pushy about it. Overall, we were happy about the experience. We would definitely use Dave's again in the future.

These folks were responsive, precise and honest. They were able to repair my aluminum garage door that I inadvertently backed into Saturday night. Called them at 8:30a and they were out to look this afternoon. Put in about 45 minutes, and the repair was as close to "good as new" as we will be likely to get. I expected to have to replace the entire door. They were honest, friendly and the cost was very reasonable. This is the second time that I have used their services and the previous repair (2009), I had similar experience.

The service tech showed up on time and had the parts needed.

First, they took $200 in a deposit and said the work would start within 3 weeks. After six weeks I had to call them to get an update. Upon my call, someone was available to do the work that week. The technician came out and did the repair. About a week later we noticed that the repair was faulty. They returned to fix the faulty repair. Now there is something else wrong with the repair and I had to call again. Now they are telling me that this is a manufacturer defect and that they are waiting to hear from the manufacturer. At no point has anyone from Dave's called me to tell me what's going on; I always have to call them. And if it takes 3 service calls and 3 months to get the job done right, I would not recommend using this company.

The coupon ended up saving us $44 off the $210 price. So, we paid $166 out of pocket. I'm really glad the coupon came out otherwise I may not have had the door inspected. If our opener kept operating with the broken spring it may have been a few more weeks before we needed a new unit (~$350+) plus new springs. So, we got a tune up and new springs and our door opener should be good for many years to come. Next time the garage door fails to go up I will pay more attention to the Springs and not just adjust the units power level.

The whole job went very smoothly, including the estimator, the office staff, and the installer. The explanation of the installation was thorough, the materials were ordered and installed on time, and I found the installer was very punctual and willing to answer any questions I had about installation. The clean up was complete and he took several minutes to go over operation of the new opener. Great job!

Problems with both garage doors. Had to readjust the height on one, and the other door kept failing to close and would reopen after partly closing. They adjusted the sensors and while it worked for half an hour, after they left it started again with the same problem. They apologized and came back the next day. Found the part that was the problem and replaced it for the cost of the part alone. After that it works perfectly. Would have given all A's if they had found the correct problem on the first visit. But I recognize that sometimes that happens, and it was just an inconvenience. The repair men were professional and friendly and otherwise did a great job. We will use them again for sure.

The rollers were crap, so they replaced all of them and the hinges. Things were bent, and not working before they came out. Afterwards, the door opens and closes easily. The technician also gave me some tips on how to maintain the springs in the future. Good work!

The office receptionist was very responsive. She gave a time frame for the technician to come and called to tell me when he was on his way. Levi, the technician was on time. He not only diagnosed the problem immediately but generalized the problem to the type of door and the ways to repair or replace parts. He fixed the problem and tested it quickly and efficiently. I am extremely impressed with this company and its employees. My garage door is an older model and parts are beginning to wear. This is the third time in eight years that I have used their service and each time has been marked with the same responsiveness and efficiency.

Dave's staff arrived punctually at my home, as scheduled. The track of the first garage door had become disconnected from the wall. The workman re-secured the track to the wall and also re-anchored the motor drive housing to limit additional vibration. The repaired opener was checked and found to be fully operational. Although I had not planned to install a second opener because of the workman's promptness repairing the first opener I asked for a quote to install a new opener on another garage. The workman provided an estimate ($350) and confirmed with his dispatcher that his schedule allowed him to work on this request. I told him to proceed. He installed the second opener promptly and efficiently although not without a couple of false starts that required rework and minor modifications to the existing door assembly due to its age. I was fully aware of these adjustments. Both openers are working fine. I would recommend this service provider to others experiencing garage door problems.

Called Dave?s Garage Doors on a live person answered the phone and set the appointment. Shane called before the appointment time and advised he was on his way and would be on time. Shane explained what needed to be done and suggested that after fifteen years of use the bearings should be replaced - - I agreed. Shane showed up on time was professional and courteous. He took the time to answer all my questions. I?m going to schedule a time for Shane to replace the other garage door spring. Shane is excellent!

Door opener wouldn't work. Door now works just fine.

As a member of Angie's List, I called Dave's Garage Doors based on previous client's reports and their Grade A rating. I called their office and requested help determining if installing a garage door opener was possible because many years ago I was told with the sloped driveway into the garage it was not possible because of the limited headroom space was limited. An appointment was made for a few days later and Levi and his partner arrived on time and after an inspection determined it would be possible and gave me an approximate price, which I was agreeable with. The day of the appointment Levi and his partner arrived on time, explained approximately how much time it would take to install the garage door opener and several other details and went to work. The approximate time they told me was right on the money and the price was lower than what was quoted. I am very happy with my new installed automatic garage door opener, saving me much time getting out of my car, opening up the door, getting back in the car, and driving into the garage, especially when a hard rain is coming down. Both of the techs were extremely professional and friendly (as was the office personnel) and answered every question I had asked (and more). A great experience.

I called Dave's Garage Doors, because of their high rating on Angie's List. They came out the next morning. I was told they would be out before noon, and the technician arrived at 9:30am. (The office called me when he was on his way.) As soon as he saw the door, he recognized the problem---a loose wire, and fixed it. He also checked the door, lubed it and made sure it worked well. It took him only a few minutes. But I was extrememly happy to have my garage door working again. The charge is their basic service charge. The tech was very pleasant and professional.

Everything went fine. They came on time, answered all my questions, and did their work very quickly. There were no particular problems and the door moves a little easier than it did before, thanks to the lubrication. I have lived in the house for over 16 years and this was the first service I have ever had done on the door. I have a door lock on the garage door, but I have never had a key to allow me to open the door from the outside. One of the workers (I don't remember their names) had a spare part for a lock that could be installed, and it came with a key. He gave it to me for no charge and explained to me how I would need to install it. It looks pretty simple so I might end up with a new lock and a key. The whole cost was pretty reasonable since I purchased the service with an Angie's List "Big Deal".

The Angie's List Big Deal promotion of a $44 garage door tune-up prompted me to take advantage of the offer. Shane arrived as scheduled and thoroughly checked out and adjusted the garage door as needed. He noted that the bearings were worn and replaced both at a cost of $20 each. I was very pleased with the service provided by Dave's Garage Doors and Shane is an excellent representative of the company.

He was outstanding. He had to replace the wires and clean the doors and sliders. He had everything fixed up and the garage door works well and is even quieter then I have ever seen it. He service was OUTSTANDING> He even gave me pointers on buying my next springs for the door. I think it took less then 30 minutes for him to do it all.

Excellent experience. I got two estimates and Dave's was lower. The tech came out as scheduled and finished the job as promised. The timing was important to me because I was in the process of painting my house and needed the door replaced so it could be painted. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and professional. No hesitation about using this provider again.

The tech was very experienced, a good communicator, and was careful and quick to troubleshoot and fix the problems.

The woman I spoke to on the phone that morning was very pleasant and was able to give me an exact quote over the phone. She sent someone out that afternoon, and he arrived in the window of time she said he would. He replaced the two springs in about 25-30 min and now the door works great.

Called on a Monday am - told technician could be there Tuesday between 1 and 5. Seemed like a broad window - but it worked out fine. Got call about 30 minutes before technician arrived. good overall experience.

Shane was very professional as well as friendly. He explained options and their costs enabling us to make decisions so we could both get the work done now that we wanted as well as avoid an additional charge for another trip in the future. We definitely will maintain a relationship with Dave's Garage Doors.
