I hired Gary Bulmer DBA All Tile Inc. to grout a sunroom floor, to install kitchen, utility room and bathroom floor tile and to tile a kitchen island. Gary took 7 weeks to do a job he said he could do in 2 weeks. Instead of starting an area and finishing it, he started all of the areas and they were all unusable for the duration. His workmanship was poor with tiles at different altitudes, and some tiles with insufficient grout. He missed large areas that required caulking. He got grout everywhere, including on wood cabinets and appliances, that he never cleaned up. He operated a dry saw inside that filled my great room with an overwhelming amount of dust. He never did a final clean up on most of the work. He nearly doubled his price during the project increasing the agreed upon price from $1770 to $3396. He never consulted with me before jacking up my bill. He only worked a few full days. Most days he only worked a couple of hours if at all. I always had to “invite” him to work and I always had to stay home just in case he showed up. Part of the job was to build a cabinet with a tile door in my kitchen island. The tile fell off several times. He duct taped the tile on and told me it was finished. It fell apart before he even got out of the driveway. I ended up removing the door (that wouldn’t even open more than ¼ of the way) and installing a wine chiller in the space. Part of the job was to finish grouting my sunroom floor. Someone else had laid the tile and grouted about 1/3 of it, but did not clean the grout in a timely manner, so grout stuck in the pits of the tile. Gary said he would get the excess grout out of the pits of the tile and finish the grouting. Gary grouted the remaining 2/3 of the floor, but he made the same mistake of not thoroughly cleaning the tiles in a timely manner, so instead of solving the problem he tripled it. He only partially cleaned out the pits of the tile. It looked terrible. He left the masking tape on for 6 weeks while working on the sunroom floor and never did remove it. It was on so long that removal damaged the paint. Gary always got very argumentive when I questioned him about the delays, price increases, poor workmanship and failure to show up for work. After Gary called his work "finished", I had to hire someone to caulk and to fill in around the wine chiller. With funds depleted I had to do the rest of the work myself which included the final cleanup, sealing and removing the grout from the pits. The grout was such a mess that I'm sure I put more hours in cleaning up after Gary than what he put in. I suppose there may be worse contractors out there, but this was by far the worst experience I've had. I did not get anywhere near the value for my money and the aggravation was definitely not worth going through. I do not consider his work acceptable or saleable. I only paid him to get him the heck out of my house. NOTE: All of the pictures I submitted were taken after Gary "finished" the job.
