I've not had great luck with hiring housecleaners. It's my recommendation that anyone hiring someone always check references carefully and thoroughly, and make sure that any valuables you have in the house are documented. That applies to ANY cleaner.
"I’m so sorry that you feel this way. I hate for any of my clients to not be satisfied. From my records, which indicate the 9 times that I cleaned your home; there were unfortunately 2 or 3 times that I had to reschedule. I did suffer an awful sickness for about 3 weeks in December, in which I ended up in the emergency room on more than a few occasions. I would hate to ever expose someone or their home to something that could have been contagious. Although, it is true that I did have to give my fiancé a ride to work because the clutch in his vehicle had went out, I was very thankful that when I called you a few hours before our scheduled time to tell you this, that you were more than understanding that I would be 20-30 minutes late for our scheduled time. I know that I speak for all of us that are professional housecleaners when I state that I am so sorry and that I apologize that you have had such horrible experiences with other individuals. It is these behaviors and these types of housecleaners that make it difficult for those of us that are professional, take pride and do a great job. You are absolutely right, when you state that anyone hiring a professional housecleaner should check references carefully and thoroughly. Thus the reason I always have a list of references on hand. I also would ALWAYS recommend that a homeowner should document their valuables, not only for insurance purposes, but just their own knowledge. It doesn’t matter how great someone is or how great their references are, there are always steps that should be taken to ensure that you have a pleasant and satisfactory experience.
