This company was hired to provide mowing services for my elderly handicapped father by our daughter out of state. They took advantage of the fact he could not come outside and monitor how they were performing the services. They continually performed the job poorly often skipping many sections of the yard that couldn't be seen from the roadway. They failed to do any trimming and left weeds to take over in other areas. When we came to visit Youngstown from out of state to pick up my father, we saw the mess left by poor mowing in the front yard. The owner denied that his mowers had done the poor mowing job at the yard and claimed someone else must have done the mowing that day.. However a phone call back to Michigan to my daughter proved that she had received a bill for mowing services on the day he claimed no one from his company had been at the house. We demanded our monies be returned for the work they had not done. The owner said they would make it up to us and would come in and clean up all the areas that had been neglected along with some additional work that involved cutting back brush and trimming up bushes. The price was set and agreed based upon the fact they would have several weeks in which to complete the work and it could be done in that time period slowly by just one employee. Theowner agreed that he would do all of the work by himself since he would have that extra time and it would be less expensive since it would not require any worktime by any other employees. My father came to spend the next couple of weeks with us out of state and it was agreed they would keep up the mowing, fix the areas they had failed to take care in earlier weeks and do the additional work we had agreed on. We had a neighbor watching the house while my father was out of town with us. The neighbor said the owner didn't come for several weeks and that no work was done until just before the time that my father was expected to return. Finally several men came to the house just prior to my father's return to Ohio and did the work we had agreed too, but when the bill came for that work it was more than twice the agreed upon price. The owner claimed it was because the work required more employees than we had agreed upon because it was such an extensive job. The owner then insisted he never gave us a specific quote. All in all, this was a terrible experience and if Angie's list had not repeatedly requested this review I would have not said anything because it was such a horrible experience. I decided to finally do the review in the hope this situation does not happen to anyone else's elderly parents. I would not trust this company to do the right thing with an elderly person and I would not ever trust them on a price without it being written down in a solid contractual agreement that could stand up in court. The owner harassed and threatened us by phone over the check we sent to pay for the extra work. We stated that the check was for the price we had agreed upon and that was all we were going to pay. The owner finally cashed our check and ended his harassment.
