I find it ironic that this company states right here on Angies List that they stand on their work. They installed a shower door for us 3 years ago. Yesterday that shower door exploded - absolutely out of nowhere. Every inch of the bathroom is covered in glass. No one was in the bathroom at the time (thank god) and the shower had not been used in months. Clearly there was some kind of flaw in the glass caused by either manufacture or installation (glass doesn't typically just spontaneously combust for no reason). I called Great Lakes Glass to let them know and get some help figuring out what to do. They were completely unapologetic and said there was nothing they could do. I would very much like them to stand by their work and take some responsibility for what happened.

Great Lakes came right to my workplace and replaced the windshield there. They made it easy, starting with the initial call, which was courteous and informative. On the day of the appointment, they were on time, explained everything and did a great job. It was wonderful to be able to use a local, family-owned business.

As well as it could. This was a difficult job because of the age and condition of the windows but the installers took their time and made sure the job was done to my satisfaction.

wow really nice and experienced glass company ..Has a shop but came to my home right on time. My windshield has heat, special wipes, and other senor stuff that only he was aware of. He said all his glues and supplies are the best and he did it so effortless.Not a drop of glue anywhere on my car and he cleaned windshield. They do business the only way we all want... the Right Way! They said if there is a problem we will make it right. not 1 bad review on the web or here. He also was a great price... I shop around!

They came out first and had the wrong size but ordered a new cut of glass and installed it within a week.

everything went great this is a top notch company, they went above and beyond and i would use them in the future.

Great Lakes Glass came out the same day I called to provide an estimate.  Before the week ended, they had the glass and called to make arrangements to come out and install it.  They came out on the day and approximate time we scheduled.  They worked rapidly and efficiently and completed the job in a timely manner.  They were priced MUCH better than two other companies I had called.  They were very polite and Liz (office) was particularly helpful.  I was very pleased.  They would be the first company I would call for glass repair or replacement.

Window was coming up too high on the passenger side when it closed, making it go over the edge of the top. Emailed Great Lakes Glass about this (& got a very prompt response!), set up an appointment, & ran the car in on 7/29. They were able to adjust the window to make it close properly, without having to buy parts, so I was charged only for the labor.Would definitely use them again -  & recommend them to members!

They did an okay job, but I can still see a little divot and crack in the windshield.

I had a very challenging shower glass application in which Mike from Great Lakes glass spent a considerable amount of time via phone, email, and face-to-face to come up with a robust solution for mounting and aligning frameless glass to my newly constructed and tiled shower walls.
I am extremely thankful of Mike's honesty and knowledge. He was very upfront with me in explaining that it may not be possible to install the glass given the original configuration of my walls and shower base (the challenge lied in getting the glass pieces installed on top of two half-walls to align with a glass door that was centered over the curb of the shower base) . He entertained several different solutions and worked with hardware suppliers to find various unique offset hinges and such. 
It was agreed that the best solution was for me to modify my shower curb, which I did. The Great Lakes Glass crew then came out on a Saturday morning and installed the glass by early afternoon. The installation was beautiful. Everything was very solid and lined up perfect. It has been almost a year and absolutely no problems. I am confident that the glass will remain solid for many years to come.   

They came out  to our house and took measurements for a free estimate.  I had to call back a few days later to get the estimate but it was lower than the other companies.

 Once we chose them they sent someone out again to re-measure before ordering the glass.

When the glass came in they called to schedule a time for the install.  First they installed the panel in the bathroom.  Then they installed the glass doors for the china cabinets.  When they finished the glass doors they cleaned them and noticed some tiny scratches. Because the doors were scratched we did not pay right away.  They ordered replacement doors and installed them without issue.

Everything done the way it was explained and at the price quoted.  Guys were professional, clean and very courteous to my wife and small children.  No garbage left, no cigarette butts on the ground, would never know they were there it wasn't for the new windows.

A Great Lakes representative came to our home to measure the shower area and discuss options we had to accomplish our objective. He was very knowledgeable and explained the options clearly. He also showed us some pictures of similar installations so that we were clear on what the shower area would look like when completed. A day or two later he provided us with a price quote. We agreed to proceed with the project the next day. Ten days later two men arrived at our home at 9 am and completed the installation by about 3 pm. They were very professional and did quality work. They cleaned up the area when they left and we were able to use the shower the next day. The project, which was the last piece of a bathroom remodel, went smoothly and was completed in a timely manner.

OVERALL, I BELIEVE THE EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD. THE SERVICE WAS PROMPT. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT, AND THEY DIDN'T KEEP ME WAITING. THEY POINTED OUT AND TOOK CARE OF SOME RUST THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO CRACK IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE ONLY THING I THOUGHT WAS ODD IS THAT I WAS ASKED TO MAKE THE CHECK PAYABLE TO CASH. I MADE IT PAYABLE TO GREAT LAKES GLASS, WHICH THEY ACCEPTED.

I WAITED ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AFTER THE REPAIR TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. THE PRICE WAS LOWER THAN THE DEALERSHIP. THEY ADVISED THAT REPAIR WOULD BE ABOUT AN HOUR AND IT WAS. VERY FRIENDLY, FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS. EXCELLENT JOB! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO OTHERS. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THAT THEY NEED A LARGER WAITING AREA (CURRENTLY ABOUT 4 CHAIRS NEAR THE ENTRANCE).
