Description of Work: 2 or 3 visits in 2015. Did some troubleshooting on my computer, installed some upgrades, helped with a virus. Installed a program to allow remote access and servicing - used a couple of times. |Very punctual, professional. I actually do not recall the price but it was very reasonable.

Description of Work: My computer should have been running at 30 and it was only running at 12 so I called them there to see why my computer was running slow, by the time he left my programs were deleted without asking, my page does not scroll down anymore it instead jumps down the page, and I am unable to use a photo program because every time I do it messes up my computer screen where it starts flashing and then the program quits working. I was extremely upset at this because I need the photo programs for my business. When I called him back and asked him what happened to my computer he told me that I would have to pay for him to come over and wipe out my motherboard. I wished I never would have called him. Is this a gimmick to use a coupon so that he can come break your computer and then charge you more money to fix it

Dear Ms. [Member Name Removed], We thank you for your review. Your computer had over 800+ virus/malware that I found. The only choice in this matter was to let you know that we will have to remove virus and we did. The nature of these virus/malware is such that they infect Windows system files so when removed, sometimes they make Windows performance unstable. I had advised you that if your Windows does not work properly, I will wipe out your hard drive, re-install Windows and restore all your files at NO EXTRA CHARGE to you. I did follow-up with a phone call to you and let you know that I will do that at you convenience. However, the issue was that you did not have some software discs that you would have needed to re-install the software that you need for your picture software. In my last conversation, you had stated that you will look for the software and call me when you are ready for me to wipe out your computer's hard drive and re-install Windows. I have not heard from you since then. I will once again call and follow-up with you if you want me to remedy this issue. We stand behind our work 100%, no exceptions. However, we also ask our customers to be objective and disclose fully the issues in their reviews so that other Angie's List customers who read reviews get a full and complete picture of our service calls. Description of Work: He took apart my computer. Tested it to see why the computer was not showing the logon screen. Tested the motherboard and informed me that it was dead. Removed the hard drive (all my data) and told me to keep it in a safe place. Very professional! Would definitely seek his advice with respect to computers.

I do not recall the specifics of our conversation because it has been over a year ago, but our fee for wiping out hard drive + backing up and restoring data + re-installing operating system + re-installing all your software applications and updates is less than one-half of your quote. Our fee is much less when we are not performing all of these tasks on your computer. At times, when a computer needs more memory or any other hardware, or if a customer wants to upgrade to a newer version of Windows, we have to charge for a retail version of Windows. In such circumstances, we do recommend that a potential customer evaluate the possibility of purchasing a new computer. Please let us know if you need any assistance in future. Dear [member name removed] Thanks for posting the review for us. We had serviced your computer on October 14, 2013 (and not on January 25, 2015). You had purchased Angie’s list “Big Deal” promotion ($90 service for $50 for one hour). Instead of one hour, we performed a six plus hour of service without any extra charge. In October 2013, we had removed malware and virus, wiped out your hard drive, re-installed Windows, backed up and restored data, and given you one year anti-virus subscription, all for free. We were not aware of any pending issues after our service was complete. After about one month, somehow had another virus infection and you called us back because you were happy with our service. Once again we removed virus infection from your computer and did not charge for our service. Since then, we have not heard from you.
