I actually found this provider on Yodeal.com. The promotion was $75 for 2 hours worth of work ($150 value). He is super nice, very cheerful and a great whistler. When Scott arrived, I showed him the three tasks and heset straight to work. He had a couple of challenges with the washer and dryer. The hose couplings were corroded. I had purchased new 6' hoses at Home Depot earlier that day anticipating the need for them. It took an hour, but he disconnected the old appliances, moved them, connected the new ones, balanced the appliances and tested them to ensure that the gas was working and the hot water was feeding to the washer correctly. He then came and found me and showed me the work so that I could test it for myself before he moved on to the plumbing and electrical issue. Scott found that the leak in my tenant's sink was actually two separate leaks instead of one. One was at the stopper and one was at the drain pipe. The stopper leak he easily fixed, which also fixed the issue of the slow drain. He showed me the issue and how he fixed it. For the lower leak, it turns out that whomever installed the pvc piping used a very short piece of pipe and it actually just screwed into the threads and stopped. He said that sometimes, sediment/lime in the water system will naturally settle in the threads and stop that type of leak, however, he would be glad to write up an estimate for me if he would like me to spend more time on it. I said I would like for him to do that. In his estimate, he figured $25 parts and 2 hours of labor-which seemed reasonable. The bottom of the form stated that the estimate is good for 30 days from the date written. He then looked at the light fixture in the tenants front hall way. Apparently, a bulb had been broken off inside the socket, but the socket was not stationary and would spin. There was no easy way to remove the metal piece of the bulb that was left in the socket. He figured out a way, and ultimately removed the base of the fixture which was installed in the ceiling. He found bare wires which were twisted as a result of the socket turning and not being stationary. He brought it to me and said that he did not think it would be safe to use and if I would like him to continue, he would stay at $50 per hour, purchase a light fixture and install it. I said, well, perhaps you would take the metal cabinet off the wall in the kitchen for me while I run to Home Depot and get another light fixture? He was glad to. When I came back about 15 minutes later, the cabinet was set to the side in the kitchen. I gave him the light fixture and he installed it within 20 minutes. I found Scott to be experienced, a good communicator, flexible and really helpful. I am considering having him back to work on the bathroom sink, as well as check my stove to see if the gas line is properly installed. I have not used my oven (just the stove top) because my oven does not seem to work. I have lots of confidence in his service, felt like it was an excellent value and would recommend the company (and Scott) without hesitation. I plan to use them again in the future.
