From the start, Drain-Flo was not punctual at all, not showing up on days they said they would and showing up without warning. They took liberties of doing things without consulting us first, such as the size of the hole on the side of the garage to run the sump-pump line out and cutting a bigger door frame because they door they brought was too big for our existing structure. The water problem, as they, worked, initially got worse. The door (and the instillation) tacked on additional money, as was re-renting a saw-zall to cut through concrete when he determined that simply running one part of the drain tile to an existing PVC pipe (used for a downspot) was too much and all the drain tile needed to be connected and run to the sump. His work was unprofessional and he cut corners. He also kept coming up with different suggestions on projects to work on, probably because he may have underbid himself in his initial estimate. He told us that the hole on the side of the garage was filled with foam, when, in reality, they had shoved a shop rag in there. He was supposed to return to finish some things off, but then never came back. Coincidentally, we had paid him his final amount, but he seemed to genuinely care about us and acted like a "friend." Later, I had another plumber come out who determined that the PVC lines for the downspots should have reinstalled, as to not overwhelm the sump pump, so he addressed that while also finishing up what Drain-Flo was supposed to finish -- and making it look PROFESSIONAL in the process. I also had a handyman come out and reconfigure the "man" door installation to make sure it was properly sealed and looked PROFESSIONAL. Initially, after Drain-Flo had "finished" their main work, we were still getting some water in by where the door was installed, which is also where Drain-Flo had simply taken an existing downspot and partially covered it with the 57 stone, which essentially obstructed it and overwhelmed the gutter. Since that downspot issue and the door issue have been addressed, our garage has been water-free. Mr. Bunt did have some family concerns right when he finished up, which was his initial reason for not coming out. However, he then simply began to not return phone calls, voice mails and text messages, and then had the nerve to cuss me out when he finally did answer his phone about three weeks after he had stopped coming and hang up on me. Two months later, I tried him again, and this time, he was courteous and "promised" he "didn't forget" about us and was going to come out sometime that week. After not hearing from him for a week, we tried him again, to which he did not answer his phone and has never responded to the voice mail we left him. Hence, why we eventually hired other people to come out and finish what he was supposed to do, and those people took his work and made it better. I would not recommend the usage of Drain-Flo Plumbing for any reason at all, unless you want your plumbers being unprofessional and dropping off the face of the planet once they have gotten all of their money from you.
Description of Work: Drain-Flo Plumbing had originally come out to service us in an emergency when we got water in our basement. Bill Bunt (the owner and main guy behind Drain-Flo) came out and snaked our sewer lines from the house to the street and removed a blockage, and we haven't had any water since. He seemed courteous and nice when he did that. We were getting water through the backdoor into our sun room (breezeway) and through the backwall of our garage. He came out and determined that we needed drain tile laid behind the back portion of the house, with 57 stone put on top of it, and also felt that, because of the plane of the backyard behind higher than the footer, he should install a crock with a sump pump in it in the corner of our garage to pump out the excess water. They knocked out some concrete in the corner of the garage to run the crock, installed the sump pump, ran the line out of the side of the garage, put in two bucket drains where the back door of the breezeway opens and rain drain title along the south and west sides of our home, hand-digging a trench and putting the stone on top of it. He also installed a new metal security "man" door in the back of our garage, replacing the existing one, which not only had broken glass, but also a broken door lock. He also took out the existing structure that ran the downspouts to the graded driveway, running them instead into the drain tile/sump pump. They also coated the back of the garage with a sealer, and installed a new weather-strip guard on the bottom of the back screen door. They re-concreted where the two bucket drains were installed just outside the door and in another part of the walkway where they had to cut out to connect the two drain-tile lines to the crock/sump pump. We did have one other plumbing company come out, who were only going to run drain tile behind the breezeway and install a drain behind the door, and that estimate was for over $800. Drain-Flo's intial estimate was for $1,295, which (we felt) was addressing all of our waterproofing concerns, so we hired them. Factoring in the rainy weather, the job probably took about a month to complete ... although he never officially completed it.
