A small section of flat roof started leaking during an ice storm. Soon the ceiling in the area under that roof was collapsing. I got one estimate for just replacing the roof, which was about $1300, but that person said they could not also repair the ceiling. Jacob came and looked at the roof and the interior and gave me an estimate of $1350 for the roofing, $1000 for the interior. The men who did the work were polite and professional. Once they started taking the roof up, it turned out that more of the wood in the roof and the walls was rotten than was previously thought and this cost about $300 above the original estimate. I am very happy with the work they did. There was extensive damage from a long-term leak and I'm comforted to know that it was all removed and it is now watertight.

The people at Jacob's Ladder were friendly, courteous, responded promptly and repaired the problem in a professional manner. I definitely will use them in the future.

Jacob was on time for the initial estimate and worked with me through several revisions. I had always done this type of work on my own in the past, so hiring a contractor was a big change for me. I found Jacobs Ladder through Angies list, and the reviews all seemed very positive, so I was willing to take a chance. Since I was not certain I wanted to turn over the project completely, I asked for several versions of the proposal to break out costs and options. Jacob worked with me through each revision, even though it got a little confusing at times. In the end, they ended up doing most of the work he originally quoted. They gave us a start date about 3 weeks out from the time they gave us the quote, and stuck to that date. The guys (Bob and Jeff) showed up each day at 8:00 and put in a full days work each time. We never had to guess if or when they would be there - which is not a storry you hear much with contractors. The work area was always cleaned up each day and they did their best to keep things clean throughout the house during the work. They covered walkways with runners each day to keep the floors cleaned and protected. As an engineer, I can be a very detail-oriented person, so each day I woudl review their work in the evening and ask questions about it, even putting sticky notes all over the room to cover details. Bob was kind enough to go over each of these items and always answered my questions in a way that made me comfortable they knew what they were doing. Whenever there was a question or issue, I could talk it over with Bob and come up with a good solution. Now that the work is complete, we have no regrets in hiring Jacobs Ladder and have already recommended them to others.

He did a wonderful job. They put new stair treads on my stairs. They removed the old ones, polished the stairs before they replaced the new ones. They were resonably priced

We got them from Angie's List. They were very professional, and they cleaned up after themselves. They did an excellent job. I would not hesitate to have them do anything else for us. The price was very good compared to the other estimates we had been given. They were good.

I chose not to use Jabob's Ladder because they took so long to reply with a quote, then gave a six week lead time before they could make the repairs. There are too many other handy man services willing to give their customers the service they deserve for anyone to waste time waiting for these guys,

Outstanding overall experience. Jacob arrived on time and listened as I explained the symptoms -- heavy rains leaking through the window. Jacob climbed up to the exterior of the window and did a thorough inspection to find the problem. Conclusion was lack of flashing around the window to force water away -- heavy rainwater could collect around the edges of the window and eventually leak through. Jacob explained the situation in excellent detail and I was ready for him to do the job. Cold temperatures put my siding at risk to break, so work was delayed a few weeks. I was pleased that Jacob remained appreciative enough to not break my siding for purposes of fixing my window leak. When temperatures were appropriate, work was done in less than one day. I look forward to having Jacob around to help with my future repair needs. His thorough review of the situation, quality of work and appreciation of the job are great peace of mind for any homeowner.

Jacob was very prompt and curtious. Spelled everything out and offered a few choices. We had always had a problem with the dormer siding becomming detached. So far so good, no problems.Every thing went very well. Estimate was spot on.

I could not be more pleased. Jacob and his crew were very professional and very polite. They asked me what I wantedbefore they got the new door handle and installed it promptly. My dog love one of the workers and he was very tolerant of the intrusion when working under the sink! I would never ask antone to come and fix anything but Jacob and his workmen. They didn't waste time and the job was done in a day. They just had to come back the next day to check on the roof. I have had alot of work done before but will only call Jacob from now on.

As usual, the job was handled in excellent fashion. Bob and Joe showed up on time, got to work, and finished all of the jobs quickly. Bob made the extra effort to make sure the exterior door was repaired properly. He could have just taken a short-cut to move the latch but he took the extra time to level the door first. They cleaned up after themselves and removed all of the job related debris. I have used Jacobs Ladder several times and have recommended the business to my friends. The work is always done quickly and professionally. The crew is always polite, knowledgeable and hard-working. It is great to work with a company that follows through, shows up as scheduled and performs quallity work. Jacobs Ladder is the best!

The experiance with Jacob was wonderful, he was very easy and comfortable to work with throughout each and every project he helped me out with. I would recommend him to anyone out there who needs a good honest guy to help you out and know that he is being honest. This guy should be given a Triple Super Service Award.

The lock, part of the door knob, would not unlock nor would the door know work. We could not open the door. I thought that just a repair was needed. I called Jacob's ladder. Someone came out promptly, looked at the mechanism and told me that I needed a know lock, knob. He gave me the choice of buying it myself or him getting it. I chose to buy it myself, and he installed it. He was very professional and did a good job.

All work was completed in a very professional and knowledgable manner. The owner Jacob Lewandowski is very personable and accomodating. VERY customer focused with a desire to please. His estimate was very competative as well. Our request for what we wanted done changed several times and he accommodated us without an issue. The workers were very polite and neat and knowledgeable.. They were very careful to protect the flooring in the work area and the path through the house to get to the work area. They cleaned up every night before leaving. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately. The work was started on the date promised and completed with in the stated time frame. If I had any complaints at all it was that communication, as the work progressed, was not what I would have liked but, this was a vey minor issue and Mr Lewandowski was always reachable by phone. Often it is hard even to get someone out for an estimate let alone completing the work. Indeed the last company I had out (to lay a ceramic floor in out laundry room) collected the check for the work and never returned to complete a few small trim details as promised. And he was rated A+ by the BBB. Overall I was extremely pleased with the work that Jacob's Ladder did for me and would even go so far as to say It was the most positive experience I have had with this type of service in recent memory. I will be contacting him for other projects in the future. Dealing with this company was an absolute pleasure and I would not hesitate to recommend Jacob's Ladder to anyone.

I am very happy with the work they did and would use them again

Workers arrived on time and started job right away. They had to leave partway into the job, and returned three hours later which was worrisome, but they finished the job upon return.

I have been searching for a Handyman for a while and finally joined Angie's list. I saw all the great reviews and satisfied customers with Jacobs Handyman services, so I gave them a call since it said they serviced my area, but I was quite a distance away. I contacted them a couple of times to arrange an appointment, once set Jacob showed up and I told him what I needed to have done. He gave me an estimate after a bit of time, I said go ahead, he said it would take about 3 weeks or so before they could start. The work started two weeks beyond that, but I was ok with that and they kept me informed about their workload. Once the work started, they met their estimate of 2.5/3 days and the estimated price was the same. The work was done as I expected and is appears to be of good quality. In all I think some communications could have been better, but compared to other businesses in this segment these guys were pretty outstanding, they showed up on time for the estimate and the job . They correctly estimated the time frame and were courteous and attentive and focused on the work while on site. I have a couple further projects upcoming which I will probably use these guys for again.

Jacob was very flexable with working with our time line. We have used Jacob on other projects and he has always worked with us. His team showed up on time and worked hard. The foam board that was to be placed on the outside walls wasn't available in the thickness stated on the quote. Jacob used a thicker board at no additional cost. They did a great job of clean up and Jacob called a few days later to make sure we were happy with the work. I will use Jacob again.

Jacob explained in detail what he would do and followed up with a detailed written estimate online so my wife could download it and send it back with our approval. The workmen cleaned up wherever they had been, they worked consistently, arrived when they said they would and were very polite. They handled themselves in a very professional matter. What really impressed us was what happened afterward. There was a small rust stain on the linoleum that both the workman and my wife thought would be covered by the toilet. After the toilet was replaced a small section of the spot did show through. The workman suggested using "Iron Out." My wife tried it but it didn't work. Jacob came out a tried to get the spot out to no avail. He then sent the workmen back to raplce the whole section of linoleum under the toilet at no extra charge. The workmen were very apologetic for the inconvenience and the final result was beautiful - no stain and no trace of a seam anywhere. We would recomment this company to anyone that needs the services of a handyman. These are people of integrity, which is a welcome quality in these times.
