My repairman quickly diagnosed the problem. He did not have the replacement part with him, but since I had been without a washer for two weeks, he disconnected the lid sensor so I could do some laundry until he could return with the repair part and perform the permanent repair 2 days later. Given the Stay at Home situation, and that there were no children living in my house, his temporary fix was very much appreciated, until he returned for the permanent repair.
