Jack-Of-All-Trades

It was an Angie's List Big Deal. He was very nice. He was fair as far as the pricing. He and his crew were very considerate, and he was very concerned about trying to do the very best job he could. He was on time.

He didn't call me to confirm, so the night before the appt. I called him to confirm. When he called me back it was almost 9:30 pm. I had just looked at drywall mud and found it died up. I asked him if he could pick it up at the hardware store that he would f=drive right by, but he told me to go out that night and get some. I understood that he was just supplying labor and I offered to pay for it and his time, but he refused. He told me to cancel the deal and get a refund so I have asked for a refund. This guy is very stubborn, non=professional and rude. We are also in business for ourselves and we would never be this way with a customer. His skills might be good but he is a pill.

I got a great deal for 3 hrs of handyman service. There was slight confusion about appointment time but they were able to come the same day. They kept me updated with their arrival time. When they came we discussed the work that was needed and then the work was done quickly and efficiently. I would definitely use them again.

Service was excellent. I needed 8 sets of blinds hung. 2 guys showed up and got right to work. They did a great job and cleaned up after their work was done.

Very good and knowledgeable about wide variety of home maintenance issues.

They did what they were supposed to do and screwed in all of the decking. They also put in a flag pole for me. We had discussed them coming back to power wash, paint the deck and repair some wood steps on the side of the house. They told me they would get back to me but I have not heard back from them since. They only take cash for their services which makes it kind of difficult.

The deck is not sitting on foundation in two area and is rubbing on home aluminum siding.

I was very pleased with the work of these two gentlemen. They drove a considerable distance to help on a new home that we had just purchased. Having another Angie's Big Deal fall through because the contractor said it was too far to drive was a hassle. No complaints from these guys. Having these two do so many jobs in one day so efficiently was fantastic. They work very hard and are very easy going. You don't have to like the people that help you in life. But, it sure is a nice bonus when they get the job done, and you happen to think they are both nice guys. I would not hesitate to recommend them, but hope that they don't get so busy that they can't come back and help us!

Terribly as he missing 2 appts and never even called either time. Very frustrating to deal with!

I had a very hard time getting an appointment with him. I had to schedule it a month in advance. He let me know about all the materials that I would need to get for him to do the work, which I did. Today he was supposed to come at 10am, and it is now 11:15, and he has not shown up, and has not called. I tried to call him, but there is no answer. I am very disappointed.

Provider neither showed up, called, nor communicated.

We had an appointment schedule for 10:00 a.m. yesterday and the service provider showed up an hour late without notifying us that he would be late. When he showed up I was about to ask him to reschedule because we had something to do later in the day. He went off on me and blamed the issue on the traffic and said that if we did not want him to do the job that was fine with him. I let him know that with that attitude we did not want him to complete the work.

There were a few challenges getting in touch with Jack to iron out the details. This was understandable, given that he had just offered a "Big Deal" and was likely flooded with reponses. It was just a bit frustrating for me since I had a deadline by which the work needed to be done. Once we connected, though, he did a great job and completed the work within the required timeframe. I would definitely hire him again.

they did an excellent job in putting in the new vanity and cabinet. They were quick and also gave me estimates for possible future work. The were very nice and pleasant to deal with, very professional.

NOT WELL FOR ME. I WOULD LIKE A REFUND TO ACCOUNT, ASAP. TELL HIM NOT TO CALL.

It was difficult because the doors I bought did not have hinges cut out. I had asked him if he wanted me to buy pre hung door or one with the door knob only cut out. He said he did not need the prehung door. He cut out the hinges on the door , but it looked a little rough around the edges. The hinges we had bought were rounded and he cut out a square opening saying he couldn't cut a rounded opening.. so we went and exchanged our hinges so they were square.. even then, it looked a little rough. I think he needed a hinge marker and a chisel. He did not use a chisel, but a knife. Maybe if he had used different tools it would have looked a little smoother. He did say it was because the door was a cheap door (not solid wood) and that is why it didn't look good. But he worked hard and was nice. He also said some closet doors we bought wouldn't work because they were 1 inch too wide....... this is different from the doorman at Lowes- who told us we just needed to trim 1/2 in off the door(even thought it was hollow we could still trim 1/2 off and affix the cut part to the wall so it wouldn't be seen....... SO , I do not think he has much experience with interior doors. He probably has good experience in other areas. I do believe it would help him to acknowledge that there are ways to improve the result of his work instead of being just faulting the door and other things.

This offer from the service provider is just an "EYE WASH". 2 people come and costume the 3 hrs in only 1.5 hrs. So the actual work is only of 1.5 hrs because the second person just comes for holding the ladder. So we are paying half money to the '' PERSON WHO IS HOLDING THE LADDER". In my case, the 2nd person didn't even hold the ladder. I would NEVER EVER have this service provider come, nor would recommend him to anybody. For all the buyer request to get all the work clarified with him. Because this person just GOES out of the house, as soon as he recovers his $ 80 without informing you or letting you know. I am going to file a complaint to refund my money

Jack had done an emergency concrete repair on sidewalk steps of a house we were buying last year and I liked his work and called him back this year to build wooden stairs for front and back doors. I am partially handicapped and the old concrete steps were very narrow and tall and cracked and almost impossible for me to maneuver. He did the work for the rear steps a couple of months ago for $1500 and came back for the front steps and the rest of the work yesterday for $2140.00 , the work is great and I am able to go in and out both doors now with no difficulty. If i had a problem with a thing he was more than willing to make the necessary changes. As soon as I have the extra $$ he will be coming back to do several more jobs. Can't say enough good things. I DO have to warn people there are TWO handymen on Angie's list with the same business name, on has bad reviews, this is NOT this Jack.. Jack Stuard is the *Good Jack* :D

He was very knowledgable and polite. He gave me an estimate in a timely manner. I thought it was also a fair price.

Used Jack many times, all great experiences. This time no different. Had a 3 gang receptical that was damaged from window leak that needed totally rebuilt and drywall patch applied from all the wet surrounding drywall. He over framed the box (a good thing!) and did a perfect drywall patch of about 18" x 8". Drywall finishing perfect and recepitcal rock solid. Took several trips for the finishing of course but better than the original.

EXCELLENT we were closing on a house and the mortgage co. demanded the broken steps be replaced even though it was not main entrance. The contractor we hired backed out at the last minute and left us with broken steps 3 days before we were supposed to close. So I was scrambling for a new contractor, called Jack and he came out the next day, started work that night and we had new steps in time to close AND for less money than the other contractor. The steps are wonderfully made and he cleaned up all the debris in time for the inspector from the mortgage co. to do his walkoby. Jack also did our lawn since we hadn't had our yard tools delivered yet. He is a licensed electrician and we will definitely be using him in the future.!

Finding a quality handyman is hard and very risky. We took a chance and contacted Jack to some work on a property we were preparing to sell. Jack was very reasonably priced, punctual, extremely responsive and did great work. We had a broken window repalced, some roofing repaired, side of house pressure washed and broken garage door fixed for a VERY reasonably price. This was all stuff I ddint know how (or have time) to do. Was done quickly and professionally. Highly recommend his services.

I was looking for someone to build a deck for my particular taste and was looking to have it done before Christmas for the reason of family coming in and it was always hard for family members to come in through the front door and through the smelly garage. I had five or six deck companies come out and give me estimates and had them draw up a simple sketch of what the finished product would look like. It just seemed like everything that they came up with just wasn't what I was really looking for and their price range seemed over priced for the economy the way it is. I then contacted Jack of all Trades and spoke with the owner Jack and had him come out and give me an estimate and sketch also. No sooner than he came out and started discussing what I really wanted it took less than 10 minutes for him to hand sketch a picture of what the finished product looked like and it seemed like he knew exactly what I was looking for and the price range was right on key. It seemed like he was very confident and professional about what he was doing and that made me less nervous about having the work done. We set a time and date for him to come out and get started. He showed up on 12/12/12 with material and two of his workers and they started early but at a reasonable hour. They continued to work until about six in the evening and then came early the next morning at the same time and began work. Things seemed to start coming together very quickly and smoothly. It took Jack and his workers about three and a half days to complete the whole porch. I thought that was great timing for the size of the porch and the amount of work that was done. I was very pleased and amazed of the workmanship of the work that they had done. I was so excited that my family would not have to go through the garage or have such a hard time getting up the big step that was at the front door before.

I contacted Jack of All Trades by e-mail. I had minor, small holes in my storage areas in the basement that could possibly allow mice to enter. I also needed a door sweep on the bottom of an outside door. Jack called me, but his cell phone was having problems, so he asked me to call him later. After some phone tag, he came out and said it would take two men one day to do the job at a cost of $300 to $350. After talking to other handymen, I decided to hire Jack of all Trades. He came on a Saturday alone. He worked three and one half hours. He seemed to do a good job. I did find a few places that he may have missed. I suggested a few other tasks that I needed done, but he had another job scheduled and couldn't do them that day. He was acceptable. I keep wondering if I misunderstood the amount of time the job would take. I did not get a written contract.....I should have.

Jack is GREAT! The sidewalk job was keeping me from passing an inspection. He actually rearranged his busy schedule to help me out of my time crunch. There aren?t many contractors out there who are that accommodating AND have reasonable prices. The finished sidewalk is beautiful and even brought compliments from the city inspector! Jack is knowledgeable and experienced in many areas (Hence, the company name). He is willing to talk through options and helped me find the best solutions. His prices are very fair. I heartily recommend him to anyone who wants good work at a very fair price. He is so very easy to deal with that I recommend him strongly for people who hate gruff and/or pushy, greedy contractors.
