They were very professional and friendly. He was very informative as he did the inspection, he informed us of what to do and not to do gave us a lot of helpful information. He did not try and up sale us. He also did some extra work for us. His price was very fair, he got the job done in a timely manner. We will use them again in the future.

The weather was horrible but they stuck with it and came to the house during a lull in the weather. Very satisfied!

It turned out that my wife really liked the way they look now so I cancelled the service. ARCO treated us exceptionally well through the initial scheduling and with our cancellation. I would contact them again if we need service.

We had two extremely different experiences with this company: First: Inspected fireplace and replaced flashing and crowns on two chimneys. Gentleman was very professional and worked with spouse via phone and email. This individual seemed knowledgeable and was punctual and cleaned up all the mess. Made time to come back to finish some painting on side of flashing. He did a great job. Second: Because of his professionalism and ability, I set up an appointment with salesman for replacement siding. Salesman cancelled first meeting and never showed up for second meeting. .

They did the job. It went fine.

They did a good job and had photos of the issues they found in the inspection. It took a while to get the work done but the weather was a factor.

They did a great job and offered recommendations for repair to cracks. We have not as yet made the repairs, but intend to. They will be who we call in the future for fireplace cleaning and repair.

Set 1st appt with secretary, then a day later received a call from a man wanting to reschedule, due to error on secretary part. The 2nd appt was cancelled and rescheduled due to weather conditions as well as 3rd. Bad timing for company to try and build new clientele. I also feel that the secretary setting appointment and the person whom is actually doing the work need to sit down and make arrangements between the two of themselves. Customers should come first in building a positive rapport. I did receive a call from secretary for another rescheduling set on January 29th, And as January 28th, I never did hear back from anyone from ARCO Gutter cleaning. An we are now down to the single digits in the weather. So that would be even more unsafe for them to complete their task at hand. The owner Patrick Archer called asked about services, and I told him that I never did hear nor see anyone at my home nor if they were no information was left for proof. For a new company, I was not impressed.

They communicated well, and were very professional. There was no pressure to hire them to fix the small problem found with the fireplace, and they said the fireplace could safely be used without fixing the issue.

They arrived a couple of hours earlier than appointment, without calling me first. They didn't give me a receipt for work done. I guess they did what they said they did. ?? They proceeded to tell me that the previous person who stopped our chimney leaking did a poor job and that it wouldn't last and they could do better. I then asked for a quote for the work they would do. THEY NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON IT and WE NEVER GOT A QUOTE. I won't use them again. This is the first time I have used someone from your site that I was disappointed in. It does shake my confidence in the people you recommend on your site.

They were on time -- early even --- and gave answers to all my concerns. I asked for an estimate for repair of a portion of my roof and am awaiting their estimate by e-mail. I will likely use their company for my roof repair.

The small amount of time needed to do the job was the reason I gave a lower value on the price.

Incomplete review because they did not complete the job due to the weather.|Understandable because it would have demanded a ladder on the ice for inspection of the chimney from the top. Said they would return, but have not as of this writing 3-4 weeks later when there has been clear weather. They did clean the chimney from the inside. |The service men were quite pleasant, and cleaned up well.|However, included in the advertised service was a video of my chimney liner to show their findings. The camera was not working that day, so they didn't bring it, or offer to when it was working again, as I recall. |However, they did offer to coat the inside of my chimney with a spray-on concrete (or similar product) for over $500 when I had not seen the inside of my chimney. |They said it was dangerous because of cracks that would collect flammable tar (sap? creosote?) and eventually catch fire and burn down my brick chimney and house. Have to be a lot of tar in some pretty big cracks, I guess. I believe they said the hazard existed even if we went with gas logs that I think would not add to any build-up. I guess I don't know enough about it to judge, but wonder if their cleaning would have sufficed.|As I wrote, they have not returned as of yet, but did call to see if we wanted to schedule the spraying. We decided not to do it.|Last we have heard of them so far.|I won't call to get them back out.|

What I really liked about them, they thought that they saw something significant, they got on the roof and it turned out not to be significant. It was an easy fix. I liked their honesty and they came out when they said they would. They were prompt and did their job. They told me things to look out for and cleaned the chimney. It was a good price. I would use them again.

Only after the fan was installed did he tell that ideally, I should have bought the next size larger..

Scheduling took a couple tries due to cold weather. That all went well. I was not able to be home when the work was done as I had forgotten about a medical appt that could not be missed. When I returned home, I was amazed how much mess was left. My "yardart" was knocked over in front of the house. In back every window ledge was full of detritus as was the steps, walkway and my porch roof. I called the owner who sent the same guy back out who did not clean up anything, but again tried to sell me new roof. I told him he merely had a mess to clean up and we were done. The next day the owner sent two guys out to clean up the mess. They worked at it for about an hour and did a pretty good job, though by then some of the detritus was refrozen to the roof and window ledges. I would not use this company for any jobs in the future. It got worked out but should not be this much hassle to get the job done.

I think it turned out okay. We weren’t home when they did the work and they didn’t leave any paperwork or evidence of having done the work. I didn’t get up on a ladder to see if they did the work, but I assume they did. They called us to set up the appointment quickly and everything sounded great, but that was our only interaction with them.

There was some confusion on the time of the service. They asked to arrive in the morning after scheduling an afternoon appointment. They did come in the afternoon, but in their defense, there was a phone message I didn't get reinstating their original appointment schedule, because they had notified me by mistake. No big deal...the message was there. The cleaning went fine, as far as I can tell (really don't know) and they cleaned after themselves very well. The service providers were professional and courteous. However, there was ice on the ground, so there was understandably no way to safely access the roof. They said they would reschedule that inspection when weather permitted. Still hasn't happened, or been mentioned. The service men told me there were gaps in the internal mortar of the chimney that would have to be filled to avoid tar (creosote?) build-up that would combust and burn down our brick chimney and house. I asked if the same danger would exist with gas logs/fire and they said it would. Huh. They estimated the work at $515.00 (or $540.00?) and offered to spray the patching material. One of the service men mentioned he used to work at a company that would do this work when it wasn't warranted, but his company did not push unnecessary sales. This is where the video of the inside of the chimney would have come in handy, but they said their camera was not working and I would not be able to see the damage. They also offered to come back with the camera, but that has not been discussed either. I do not want them back out for completion or repair. However, we did get a call asking when we would like the repair work done. We declined. This left a bad taste because I don't have any evidence of the cracks, and none was offered. However, they were more than glad to patch them without showing any evidence. Not a good experience, overall. I would have felt much better if the repair work was justified to me like the deal promised.

Not sure if they flushed them, but my husband said they should have. That's the only reason for the B overall rating.

Had some problems due to the weather that was not their fault or under their control, but otherwise everything was great.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. My husband wasn't really happy when he got home. I paid an additional $175 on top of the $99 Big Deal price. I expected another charge because I had told them that there was a vent in the roof. My husband said it would be a pretty simple repair, he just didn't have the ladder to get up there and do it so I asked them to do that. They did that and they weren't supposed to be here until 3 because I could be home from work until 3, and they came on anyway. They called me and said they were here. By the time I got from work to here, it couldn't have been more than 30 minutes, they were standing in the driveway saying they are done and want me to write them a check. My son was in the bed and he said he could hear him on the roof so he verified they were on the roof. They went ahead and there were these pieces on the top of the roof, and they were telling me that the nails were kind of popping a little so they nailed them back and then sealed them. My husband said they were already up there, but they didn't ask my permission to do it, they just did it and I wasn't even home. He didn't really like that but he said that probably needed doing. As for cleaning the gutters, when my husband got home he had me come outside and he said, "Look!" There were were some sticks taken out from one of the gutters for at least a year and it was still there. That was the first time I used them. I printed out my Angie's List deal and it said inspecting the roof, cleaning the gutters, and flushing the downspout. My husband said once he cleans the gutters, one of the sticks is still sticking out of the gutters and there was no indication that they flushed the spout because there was no water. My husband called them and he told them and then one of them called him back once, and they never showed up. We haven't heard from them since. I wouldn't recommend them. The $99 price of the deal was certainly a good price. They didn't clean the gutters totally. My husband could get up near the garage and he said, "Those look good but they didn't do it all." As far as quality of work, there were some stuff they did and some stuff they didn't. They were here but I just wished they came when I asked them to. I didn't like it because I don't know what they did. They were already here for 30 minutes so my husband finds that very suspicious.

Our first scheduled appointment had to be delayed due to weather (no way they could have safely gotten on the roof). However, two men from ARCO showed up right within the given time frame for the rescheduled day. They were both nice and started right away with one guy performing the chimney sweep and the other getting up on the roof for inspection. They found a couple of issues that will need repair and took the time to show me the issue and explain what was wrong as well as what the root cause was and what would need to be fixed. The issue was a rusty chimney cover that was leaking which caused the back wall refractory to crack. Additionally, the seal around the collar of my furnace's heat pipe needed to be fixed. I received a quote for these repairs and then they left. The entire appointment lasted about 40 minutes. The service was bought using Angie's Big Deal.

They did a good job. They've been professional.
