 + -1 moreEverything went well. After an initial telephone call, I received an estimate later the same day. Since it was very cold outside, they had to wait for a "break" in the weather to clean the awning. Once the weather warmed up a bit, they called me, scheduled a time to show up and then arrived as scheduled. Workers were polite and professional. Once they completed the job, the awning looked almost a good as new (better than I expected).
Description of Work: Cleaned a 6' x 24' canvas awning over back deck. The awning was heavily soiled with lots of mildew.

 + -1 moreThis was a big job and had to be competed before the weather got bad. The men performing the job were very professional and careful. We have lots of vegetation around the area I was initially concerned about damaging it. No problems. My only issue was that I was told that I would receive a call that morning telling me when to expect the workers. I did not and had to call twice. I never did receive a call from the company. Just the men telling me that they were on their way. Thankfully, I had the day off. Otherwise it might not have been completed. Overall, I would definitely use them again!

 + 0 moreMaster Blaster did a great job with power washing and painting our deck! They were punctual in returning calls to provide an estimate and schedule the work. They washed the deck one day and then came back on another day to paint it. When Scott realized that the color of stain we had asked them to purchase was completely different than the existing color on the deck, he called me to confirm that we had intended to paint the deck with a different color of stain. He painted a small section on the step and gave me the opportunity to take a look at it when I got home from work to decide what I wanted to do (which meant he would have to come back on another day) It turned out the color selection was an error on my part so you can imagine how much we appreciated the head's up. Scott took care of the whole situation by re-purchasing stain that matched the existing color of our deck and did a very nice job with finishing the job. Master Blaster comes highly recommended by us!!

 + 0 moreThis was my first experience with pressure washing, so I was surprised how effective it was in removing the accumulated dirt and stains. They arrived at the appointed time and made quick work of it. My only complaint would be that they didn't do a thorough job of cleaning up the water spray on windows and siding in the area but I'll definitely have them back when needed again.
Description of Work: Master Blaster came promptly after my call and gave me an estimate, which was far less than I expected to pay for this service, which included pressure washing a brick walkway, a deck, patio and the deck furniture, then refinishing the deck with a clear coating.

 + 0 moreI requested a quote for power washing my deck and one side of my house. They gave me that, and a quote for doing the entire house instead, and a quote for staining the deck after they were done power washing it. They explained in detail why I really should have the entire house done, pointing out things I had not noticed. I was impressed by their thoroughness, which far exceeded the other companies that I had contacted for quotes. While I had originally planned to stain the deck myself, their price was good enough that I just had them do it. There was some ambiguity regarding whether the pergola and lattice would be stained, but we worked that out. I would recommend that you get a quote that specifies exactly what will and will not be included in the work if you have anything other than a hand-rail attached to the deck. Their power washing job was impressive. I had one side of my house that had been in heavy shade for many years and had a tough build-up of algae and mildew on the vinyl siding. When they were done, it looked like new. They did miss the area over my garage door. On the morning following their power washing of the house, I called them to report that minor issue and they came out and fixed it within hours. The deck looked great, all ready for staining. The day they had scheduled to stain the deck, it was supposed to rain. I told them that I was not in a hurry and that they might want to reschedule. They assured me that they used a special additive in the stain that made it safe to be rained on 30 minutes after they put it on. Unfortunately, it rained 15 minutes after they finished the second coat. I called the next morning and told them that there were some small areas that needed to be redone. They were not interested in the details, because they assumed they would have to re-stain the entire deck when they noticed how soon after they had left my property the rain had started. And sure enough, they came out the next day and re-stained the entire deck. They always showed up when they said they would, and the end result looks great.

 + 1 moreThis was the second time we have called Master Blaster for the cleaning and painting of our deck. The last service was too long ago, 2009, and the deck was in serious need of treatment, the wood quite dry. The power-washing was done on a Wednesday, very thoroughly and carefully, an excellent job. The painting was scheduled to be done on the following Friday, but no one showed up, probably because of the uncertainty of the weather-- we would have appreciated some communication about that. I e-mailed Master Blaster on Saturday, requesting a word about when I could expect the work to be completed, so that we could be sure one of us was at home. A curt reply was :"sometime on Monday." On Monday afternoon, the work was completed, and very handsomely. A very fine job. The crews who did the work were excellent. I would recommendA bit more attentive communication from the office, however.
Description of Work: power-washed a backyard deck and applied two coats of solid color stain to all the wood decking.

 + 2 moreThis company was very responsive when I called for an estimate. They came right out and left it on my door. They seemed eager for business and I liked that. The power washing went well . The only reason for the B was that they did not come the day they said they would. I would have liked a phone call from them just to let me know when they would be coming. I called them, they did return the call and came within 2 days thereafter. The great thing was that the very next day after the powerwashing, they had a man come and stain the deck. I appreciated that effort since if it rains, it can delay the staining for a while. He worked extremely hard and the deck looks great. I would recommend them.

 + 1 moreIt had been 4 years since Master Blaster performed the same work (powerwashing and staining) my deck, deck extension areas and fence. At that time they told me the stain would last for 3-4 years, which it did. This time they performed the same work for the same price as the first time. The powerwashing was performed by an employee who has been with Master Blaster for 19 years. He was extremely thorough in the powerwashing phase making sure all the mold and mildew were washed away. He showed up on time on the day the powerwashing was scheduled for (5-21-2013). Besides doing a great job, he was a nice guy and answered all my questions. I called the manager of Master Blaster and requested this same employee be sent to do the staining job, too. The staining could not be performed until 2 dry days had occurred after the powerwashing. I asked that I be called before the staining was done so I could be sure I was home. On Saturday (5-25-2013) I got a call from the same employee that did the powerwashing saying he could do the staining later that day, if it was OK with me. I told him that would be fine. He came that afternoon and did the staining. He was conscientious about not getting stain on flowers, siding, and anywhere else it did not belong. This took some effort because it was fairly windy that afternoon. The coats of stain that he put on gave the deck a rich cedar look. I am very, very happy with the results. I would recommend Master Blaster to anyone.

 + -1 moreMy initial inquiry was responded to on the same day and scheduled. On the day of service I received a call to confirm scope and time of arrival. The crew did an outstanding job with a driveway that was in dire need of powerwashing. I was impressed with the skill since I recently mulched areas near the driveway and patio. The areas now looks like new and the mulch appeared to be untouched. Even more impressive, the crew powerwashed landscape boulders without disturbing any mulch or plants around the area. I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. Thank you!

The vinyl siding and painted porch looked fresh and crisp.And no more green algae.The only snafu was Master Blaster made a scheduling error and missed my scheduled date. The owner apologized and got me scheduled the next day. I was very impressed with the results...actually better than I had expected. I should also mention that Master Blaster was available within a few days not weeks like some other companies I called. And no wet or muddy mess left behind .I would highly recommend .

Description of Work: Scott and his associate power washed all the limestone "monuments" in the Village of Marble Cliff, including the fountain. They had not been cleaned for years, and the combination of a chemical cleaning plus power wash made them look practically new.

Description of Work: First of all the estimate was high and the discount for being an Angie's list member was never discussed so when the sales person was driving out of the driveway I called him back and asked about the discount and he said take $25 off his quote and drove away. When I called him the next day to ask why he did not mention the discount he said they never do until it is time to pay the bill.I told him I just wanted to have him do the roof and cancel the house power washing until next spring as I felt his price was rather high. He said he would have to charge me more for just doing the roof as it is a dangerous job and I said forget the whole thing and I will go elsewhere.The next day I received a call and was offered a reduced price for the whole job because he did not want to lose a customer so I agreed to go ahead with the originial plan to power wash house and roof area where the black spot had appeared. My order sheet said work to be done August 2,2012 in the a.m.At 11a.m,. I called the office to ask where my power wash guys were and was told to leave a message for Scott and he would get back to me..............It is 11:45 and no word from Scott and no workers showed up to do the job...........I am wondering how this company got so many A in their evaluation..... It is almost noon and I am still waiting to see if they show up today August 2nd................................to be continued..... SB UPDATED AUGUST 3, 2012: At around 1 p.m. on August 2nd Scott called me to say the reason the workers were late was because their truck had flat tires and now that the problems is taken care of they will be at my home around 1:30 p.m. The gentlemen did arrive around that time, they were polite and very professional.I was very pleased with the quality of their work and how they put things back to where they belong ( like porch bench, hanging flowerpot etc.).All and all after a rough start with this company I will say the professionalism of the gentlemen who did the power washing influcence me to come back with a c to b rating. That rating was due to the lack of communication with the client(me) as to why the workers were going to be 1/2 day later in arriving at my home.I will use this company again.SB
