Description of Work
When I called, the first question was who was my homeowners insurance through. When I told them it was not a large job requiring insurance, they would not come out until they could find someone who had time to come out and give me an estimate.... as they were very busy. By the time they called back with an appointment for the estimate, the problem had been solved.

When the service provider was called about an immediate water issue (flooded basement), they were unable to come out for a week which was totally unacceptable for the work needed. They did not offer an alternative.

For SERVPRO for installation and remodel in general, the experience was fine. What stood out to me the most that I liked about them was that they were very pleasant and hardworking.

They removed wet carpet and wet dry wall also. The last time I had service was in February.

They put a tarp on the roof. Snow leaked through the vents and they took away all wet installation. They even put a large tarp over top and said it could stay as long as I want. They were very professional. Very customer friendly.

We would like to offer some clarification on this matter. (member name removed) contacted our office because she did in fact have some water damage in her finished basement of her residence. Upon our arrival, she declined to have an estimate for services provided to her at that time and opted to initiate the recommended services. At the time of arrival, she informed us that she was filing an insurance claim and the paperwork was completed. She informed us after the services were completed, that she was not filing a claim because she was afraid that her insurance company would drop her for filing multiple claims. At that time she was provided with a price for the work that had been completed. She then requested that the drying equipment be removed even though her residence was not dry. Ultimately, she filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office because she was disputing charges for work that was already done. Our office proactively worked with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office to resolve the issue. The invoice was drastically reduced for the customer to offer resolution that was satisfactory to all parties involved.

I lodged a complaint about them. They are a very dishonest company. They billed me for $9200. We had a storm and a lot of rain and the electric went out. The sump wasn’t working and the basement flooded. My insurance agent contacted them and I thought he was familiar with the company but he wasn’t. He called them and hired them. They came in and before they started the work they made me sign a bunch of papers. There was a performance evaluation even before they started work. They seen a chance to charge us more and brought in more fans and they pulled off all my drywall and cut up all the carpet. I don’t understand why they did some areas and not the others. I kept asking for an estimate and they said they would give me one but I never got one. Everyday I would ask several times because I could see they were going to charge me a lot but I never got one. They put so many fans in my basement that it was blowing my circuit breaker. I had about 33 fans and 3 humidifiers down there. It was ridiculous. They did a bunch of damage to my woodwork down there and they threw away my baseboard without asking me. I seen that only about 2 baseboards had damage and the rest were fine but they threw them away. They tried to install all new baseboards and the solid wood frames which were already there were damaged. They did a lot of damage to the wall even where they didn’t cut up. They just made a huge mess. I could never get an estimate and my insurance was going to pay only $5000 and they sent me a bill for $9200. I had to pay about $8000 for the contractor to come back and put it back together. It was just a mess from the word go. I talked to several contractors who have been to basements and houses larger than mine and they said the total bills were between $3000 and $3500. They sent me a bill of $9200 which is ridiculous. I told them I am disputing their bill and they asked me not to do so and this happened in November and I still haven’t heard back from them. I keep calling them and they say it is on their desk and they are so busy. That was always an excuse. They were completely dishonest but they say they want to settle it with me and never call me back. I have not paid the bill yet. They are really crooked and they treat their employees badly. I think legally if you ask for one they should give you one. The insurance company has also lodged a complaint against them as well. They just won’t call me back. Everything looks so shady that it looks weird. They did work hard but they made a mess and they were just not dealing with me honestly. The price is more than twice of what it should have been. They are charging me $6763 just to run the fans and that is a ridiculous amount of money to run fans. They didn’t tell me that also and they just faxed it to my insurance agent. They also told me that they found mold and they would send somebody for it. A kid showed up without any equipment and now they say I have mold in my house which I don’t believe I do. They were here the day after the flood happened.

In response to the negative review that has been provided by this customer, we would like to offer the following information: We did in fact perform services for her at her residence in August of 2011. At the time of our arrival, her finished basement has a substantial amount of water damage that needed to be addressed. Before any services are performed with our company, the job is always qualified by a technician or manager, and paperwork is signed sating that we have been granted authorization to peform services in the home. The client stayed in her residence during the duration of our services. At no time did she ever state that she had a problem with what was going on. All services that were performed on her behalf were necessary to prevent secondary damage in the home. The amount of equipment set was in alignment with S500 standards and IICRC guidelines. The unfortunate part is [member namer removed] did not have any problems with our service, as a perfect Certifiate of Satisfaction depicts from the time of service, until she discovered that she had been underinsured for this type of loss. There was significant water damage in her large basement, and she found out after the fact that her insurance would over cover $5,000 and the invoice for emergency services and equipment rental was $9,200. At no point during the time of service did [member name removed] or her insurance agent approach us about what this was going to cost. It wasn't until after the fact that the services were a problem. We mitigate losses under the Safeco program all of the time. [Member name removed] has never called our office to discuss her concerns so that we could have worked towards a resolution. At no point was [member name removed] ever informed by our company that she had a mold problem. At the time of service, all were materials that were not restorablee were removed. Anything that could be dried and saved, were. It is very unfair for these allegations to be published as [member name removed], to date, has not paid anything towards her invoice.
They did a good job. I was satisfied with the service. Also they were cheaper compared to other service providers.
