Everything was done very professionally. Our home looks great.
Description of Work: Not much of a writer. But these guys came out gave a couple estimates and broke it down for us, so we could decide on options. We have beatiful cedar siding which they washed by hand carefully. They did the entire exterior stain, sealing and painted the entire details of our house. Carefully done and looks great. Thanks guys.

Can't say enough about them. They did an excellent job. To say that I am very pleased would be an understatement in the extreme.

They were very timely--really good at everything. They were a little pricey, but we were willing to pay a little more for good work. I don't think they were overly priced. We have a wide front porch.
Description of Work: We had them paint the ceiling, the floor, the cornice and lattice work--they were able to do all of that.

The guy is very professional. I think the way their literature is set up is really nice. It's very clear and easy to read. I had a couple of other guys quote me and they didn't even give me literature; they just gave me a number over the phone. They did not even come out. I'm going to use Curb Appeal and they are scheduled to come out in a couple of weeks.

Two Words: USE THEM!Honestly, this was the best contractor service we have ever experienced!! I rarely leave reviews like this, but they were that good.1. Spot on with the estimate, actually slightly under, and were completely honest about it!! (that never happens)2. showed up on time, and finished on time. (actually ahead of schedule)3. quality of work - fantastic4. crew completely great, professional, friendly. We felt completely comfortable having them around, great with our kids too.5. When I had questions - answered ASAP. super, super responsive. 6. Went way above and beyond the call with us. These guys are well spoken and have their act together. 7. Worked within our budget. (so appreciated.) We have a 1925 house. Its an older home with older challenges. They completely scrapped, primed, and painted all areas that needed it, including trip, gutters, tacked lose shingles, window glazing..... I could go on.

The request for a quote was submitted on-line. I got a call with in the hour. He set up a time to meet me the next day. He was on time, spent time with me discussing what I wanted done. He sent a quote via email in a couple of days. The job was completed in a couple of days with in the next two weeks. The exact date of start was moved around a bit because of days of rain. He came out and showed me color swatches. I picked one and he came back and painted a block about 4 foot square on the house so I could see what it would look like on the house. He gave a choice of paint manufacturer and recommended a satin finish which I agreed to. The painting and look of the house came out beautifully. I have gotten a lot of complements on the look of the paint job. Overall, I was very pleased.

Very positive experience overall, from obtaining the estimate through to the finished job. They addressed all questions patiently and thoroughly, followed up with us about any concerns promptly, kept a very clean work site, and did their best to minimize damage to the many shrubs growing right up next to the house. The house and garage look terrific.

The job took 3 days by a very professional crew. They came and did what they were hired to do and they did it well. If I need more painting done, it would be by Curb Appeal.
Description of Work: I had a number of painting contractors stop by and was impressed with the professionalism of Curb Appearl's contact man. He came at the appointed time, listened to what I wanted done and came back with a down to earth estimate. They washed the house, scraped, primed and then painted the whole exterior of the house.

Met with Vinny and walked him through the job. He was very thorough and knew his job. I received two other estimates and not only was his the best price, he was the one who actually listed to what we needed and he made suggestions on how to save us some money. We were painting with the same color and he guaranteed me it would cover with one coat versus two coats which would have raised the price considerably. This was VERY much appreciated. He was very flexible, as when we originally started, I was going to purchase the paint because a family member had jumped the gun and purchased seven gallons from a hardware store for this job. When I tried to exchange some of the paint that was the wrong type for the job, I found out that we were stuck with all seven gallons. So Vinny told me not to worry about it, he would be happy to use four of the gallons that would be for the walls and he would go to the same hardware store and purchase what ever additional was needed to finish the walls. Mind you, I knew this would be out of his way as he normally didn't purchase his paints from this hardware store. That was a huge help. Then he asked if I would mind if he got the rest of the paint from where he normally purchased because they had a better paint to cover the trim in one coat versus two coats. Again, to make sure the job was done right! I had told Vinny the condo would be totally empty when he came to paint; making the job very easy. We were originally going to start the job a few weeks out because we hadn't finished moving boxes out yet. But Vinny called one evening and asked if he could do the job that week because the weather was forcing them to work inside. I told him the boxes weren't out yet and he said no problem, if we didn't mind they would work around them. That was fine with me but I knew he figured the job on a totally empty condo, so his willingness to work with me on the fact that I couldn't get them out that fast was very nice of him and his crew. He even offered their assistance if my husband came to move boxes while they were there! Definitely a nice offer! But they were able to do the job by just working around the boxes. He and his crew came in and got right to work. The walls were prepped and holes were patched. They even sanded down a terrible patch job, done by the prior owners ten years ago, that we never saw until we cleaned out the closet. This was not part of the original quote because the closet wasn't cleaned out at the time he came to give the estimate. So this was something extra he did for us without our asking. He saw it needed to be done and just did it! They did an excellent job. It was just as he promised; everything covered in one coat. And his suggestion to paint the trim and doors a lighter color was wonderful. It really looks great! I would HIGHLY recommend Curb Appeal. And a great big thanks to Vinny and his crew!

It went well overall. The estimate was instantaneous and, based upon a cost comparison with another Angie's A-List performer, the choice was clear. Six rooms (kitchen, dining room, living room, three bedrooms, stairways, and entranceways) were patched, primed, and painted by the crew in three days. The colors were the neutrals that appeal to selling agents and buyers. The kitchen was improved when paint replaced the 25-year old wall covering. The house was transformed and is much more appealing. The crew was punctual and hard-working, courteous and accomodating.
Description of Work: The house, part of an estate, needed interior painting to increase its value by covering the signs of aging and less-than-modern decorating. Six rooms and two hallways, including entryways, were included.

It went well. I was home while they worked, and there were no disruptions or unanticipated problems. They used power spray paint. I wasn't aware that they would do this because they previously hand painted my house in 2005. After doing some research on the internet, I decided that there was no disadvantage to power spray painting, and may even prolong the life of the paint for my house. Only time will tell. There were no adverse affects to my property or to my neighbors' properties.
Description of Work: Painted exterior of my wood frame three bedroom house. One side had a lot of paint peeling. Also caulked around storm windows before painting. They did not do inside of window frames or shutters.

Member- Your research is correct. When done properly, spraying can apply a more uniform and, if necessary, thicker coat of paint to better protect your home. On many wood homes, we will spray the finish coat on the siding and/or soffits. We always work the paint in with a brush to ensure any cracks or "thirsty" areas on the house are fully covered. The benefits to you, the homeowner, are better coverage and the increased efficiency allows us to focus more time on the all-important prep work. Thanks for the great comments and we look forward to working with you again in the future! Blair Brede- Owner Curb Appeal Painting

The crew was very friendly and accomodating to work with. However, we had to call them back twice as we discovered areas not painted. Once this was after we had specifically stood on the ground and pointed out the area missed. We had two seperate crews throughout the project. The 2nd group did a very poor job of cleaning up paint chips throughout the driveway and yard.

Dear Member- Thank you for your positive comments as well as your honest feedback regarding your concerns. As we discussed, the paint chips you were concerned about were left only because the rain made them impossible to clean up. We did return on the next good weather day to clean. I wish we didn't have such a hard time communicating throughout the project. However, as we noted in the voicemail messages we left you, if there are any outstanding issues we would be happy to return and resolve them free of charge. I do apologize that you feel we let you down on this project, and hope you received the note and gift card we sent you upon receipt of your comment card. Sincerely, Blair Brede- President Curb Appeal Painting

I highly recommend Curb Appeal Painting.
Description of Work: Contracted to paint ceilings in five rooms and one wall. (Used this company in 2005 for whole house exterior painting of a cedar clapboard building with very good results, considering the sweltering summer heat we experienced.) I called for an estimate at a very busy time, as they rushed to finish numerous exterior painting contracts before the onset of winter. However, I was promptly given an appointment and Andrew arrived on time to review the work and present a contract. Everyone at Curb Appeal Painting ensured all of my questions were answered and kept me apprised of the anticipated work start date and schedule adjustments. Blair, the owner, is very professional and accomodating. Mark arrived ready to paint and worked nonstop the entire day. He was very driven to do a good job, neat with handling the paint and arranging his equipment, and departed only after assuring I was satisfied with his work. Many thanks for a job well done.

Curb Appeal impressed from the outset when Andrew, after inspecting our water damage, popped out to his truck and reappeared within minutes to present a very professional looking, computer-generated quote. This was in August and he offered a $75 discount if we waited until their slow season in mid-November. We had to wait for the roof to be repaired and sort things out with insurance, so that timing worked well anyway. In addition, they honored our $50 Angie's List coupon. Even after the discounts, they were the highest of the four quotes we obtained. Kevin arrived to do the job promptly in the morning on Monday 12/5, and we noticed that his work style was exceptionally brisk. He worked one half-day, allowed the first coat to dry, then completed it in a few hours the following day. Not only did he include our newly shaved gate edge, but he also purchased additional paint for the wall at no additional cost ? this was needed since, rather than just touching up the approximately 2" square area, he painted a floor-to-ceiling swath about 18" wide. When finished he requested payment without first inviting me upstairs to inspect the work. After writing the check I decided I'd better take a look and noticed a lumpy ridge in the paint along the ceiling, above where the tape line had been. However, because the drop cloths and other equipment had already been cleaned up I said nothing about it. The next day we noticed plaster residue on the front porch where he'd been working with his supplies. On Thursday I gave Andrew a call about these two issues and on Friday he, one of the owners, and another painter appeared (Kevin was on another job that day) to inspect the work. They agreed to correct the problems and, in addition, decided to finish painting the entire wall along the stairs so that the 18" swath would not be obvious (though it really didn't look bad to me). Again they charged nothing for the paint. They finished in less than 2 hours and invited me up to inspect the work (with drop cloths still in place this time). Surprisingly, the ceiling did not look much different, only that they'd used a razor to straighten out the line between ceiling and wall, but they had not removed the lumpy ridge. Apparently we'd had a bit of miscommunication, and at this point they stated that the ridge was caused by plaster mud that was originally done beneath the paint, and sanding it down would be a big project. I didn't want to get into that ? just wanted to know if it was a reasonable thing to correct or had been avoidable, and as it turns out it was not. A trusted family member later confirmed that this was the case and that they'd done a good job. With respect to the porch, Andrew had hosed it down and it looked clean while wet, but the next day the plaster residue could again be seen. He returned on Tuesday to do a light power wash, which finally did the trick. The job did not go as smoothly as expected, but my complaints were met with concern and immediate action. They definitely bent over backwards to make sure I was happy when all was said and done. Thank you, Angie's List!
Description of Work: We had recent water damage to our second floor ceiling from a roof leak. In addition, we have a pet gate at the top of the stairs and water had dripped down the wall which then swelled, causing the gate to scrape when in use. We shaved down the gate and on the day of the job asked that the gate edge be painted as well.

It took them a few days to finish and we had to point out some things we didn't like but the end result is that they kept their promise and we are happy with the finished project. I gave them a "b" score on price b/c they came in higher than other quotes. I gave them a "b" score on quality b/c we had to point out some issues. However, I would use them again because they do stand behind their promise of 100% satisfaction.
Description of Work: Curb Appeal came out to the home to give us a quote. The rep was on time, professional and curteous. He emailed me the quote a few days later. I asked him to break out the cost because we definately wanted our hallway painted but we were not sure about the banisters. We had them quote us for painting foyer and upstairs hallway (6 doors total). Did not include the ceiling. This was not the lowest quote we rcvd but the rep told us they provide 100% satisfaction. We do not pay until we are happy with the work. Because of this we decided to go with this company.

Went very well. Keith and his crew were extremely efficient, professional and courteous throughout the entire experience, even though the heavy rains in late August and September complicated things for them. I especially appreciated the care that Keith took to advise and consult with us on progress throughout the project. Estimate process was great. Out quickly, quick estimate which seemed reasonable to me. Little more than I had hoped to spend but with the company's reputation and estimate process I let them know I wanted to book them for the job. I was not told that I would have to wait about 2 months to complete the work. Had I been told that I would have gotten other estimates. But to be fair, I did not ask how backed up they were with jobs. I heard from a scheduler about 5-6 weeks after the estimate. When I called the company to follow up I was told he was no longer with the company. I let the owner know that I wanted to be present when the work started to review what was and was not to be painted. I got an email, no phone call with a likely date. No one showed. The following week I came home from lunch with 2 gentlemen painting my house. They had very little tarps to cover the ground and no protectors on their ladders (which meant dents on my house paint job). They offered to touch up without me asking. I had to contact the owner as I was not happy with the mess left on the property and paint splatters on the body of the house and my driveway (again to be fair they were doing high, hard work). The paint chips were cleaned up with a shop vac (with a lot of my mulch), couple of my plants were killed. Lastly, the finish trim work looks good and if it continues to look good after a few years then some of my frustration with the process will dissipate. Instead of asking me if I had paint to match the lower part of the house, they got a paint chip off the house to get a matched paint at Sherwin Williams. Unfortunately, the match they did was not the same color. Just ask the owner and save some time and money. Same goes for the ladders banging into the house and the lack of tarps.
