Bob was very good to work with during the entire process and did an excellent job. He was easy to reach. He came out quickly to give us an estimate. We suggested repairing the steps. We got quotes from two other contractors that suggested tearing the steps down & rebuilding. We called Bob back to ask about this and he came back to look at the steps to make sure he didn't miss anything. He still felt that repairing would be the better way to go and, after he explained why the bricks were falling off, we felt comfortable going that route. He told us he could come out in two weeks and sure enough, he did. The job took just one day and he came back a few days later to check on how the mortar was setting. He did a great job of cleaning up. The steps are in better shape than we have ever seen them & they may last another 90 years (yes, the house is that old & the steps are original).

If all contractors had Bob's work ethic we wouldn't need Angie's List. The first time I called, Bob personally picked up the phone and we scheduled a time for him to come over the next day to review the job. He always showed up on time and was very personable and professional. The end result looks great. Bob cleaned up at the end of each day, even sweeping and mopping the floor, and was careful to use drop cloths on the floor of the common areas he needed to walk through to access the basement.

He addressed all problems regarding the repairs in an economical and logical way. Very professional.

I was pleased with Bob's work. It took about 7 hours of on-site work. He was respectful of my property. He worked alone for much of the job but did have a helper come later in the day. They worked quietly and diligently to get the job done. Bob was also very careful to clean up once the job was done. I have an old house (late 1800's) that, naturally, has some issues. Bob was optimistic about my wall issue which helped reassure me that things weren't as bad as I thought they were.

I left a message for him to return my call and got no response.

Bob promptly returned our calls and came and gave a good estimate. He said that he would start two weeks later but, when recent thunderstorms forced water into the home, I called and he and his crew arrived promptly and made all repairs within a couple of days. Bob called and kept us updated as to progress and recommended future repairs/concerns without soliciting for more work.They left the area cleaner than they found it. Very good customer service skills and impressive work ethic. We are very happy with Thompson Masonry.

Who knew we could be so excited about spending money on something no one is going to notice! Bob came out the same day he was called for an estimate, said what he would do, went way beyond what he said he would do and did an overall great job. He and his worker cleaned up totally when they left, and the projects look wonderful. Everyday I go out and look at those chimneys and think how great they look. The caps he put on them add architectural interest to the house and he totally waterproofed all of his work as well. Would most definitely recommend.

Got a response and estimate within days. However, the work didn't get done for awhile due to scheduling and weather issues. The nice part was that Bob didn't just forget about the job. He followed up even after a long delay and performed the work as promised. They did a great job on a pretty weathered chimney, included a sealer on the chimney and were even able to match the old mortar. They followed up after the work was completed and encouraged us to call if we had any problems. Glad I hired them and would do so again. It's nice to work with a company that is so conscientious.

I was very pleased at what he did. It was done well to my satisfaction, and I was glad that I was able to find them to do the work.

Bob was punctual and professional. Seemed to know his business very well. We left open the possibility of tuck-pointing a second chimney but he said it wasn't necessary.

Mr. Thompson rebuilt the steps to code including pitching the steps so that water drained away from my foundation. He used new brick and built several footers as well as using the flip-side of my existing stone pads that saved me approximately $900. I felt the price while higher than I anticipated was fair as another contractor was going to charge up to $2200 for just a repair that would not have solved the problem.

Overall, I was really pleased. Bob didn't return my first phone call for an estimate, but the second time I called, he apologized and remembered that he was supposed to call back and came out that same day to do an estimate. He offered to complete the work on the spot, immediately after the estimate, which I took him up on. I had received one other estimate that was over $600 for the work, and Bob completed it for $50, the work was well done, he was very nice, and I felt like I was treated fairly rather than ripped off.

It was excellent service. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves.

It was a really god experience. I was very pleased with him. He showed up for the estimate for the sun room, and before we even got out to see it, he noticed problems with my chimney. I don't think he was just trying to get more business. I was impressed with his evaluation, and appreciated knowing that the repair was needed before it got too bad. It was a great job that he did for me. He was very pleasant and showed up on time.

Robert was prompt and friendly, very eager to do the job well. He made an extra effort to obtain the correct bricks. Both he and his assistant took pains to avoid damage to the roof during the demolition and repair process.

They were prompt, worked rapidly and cleaned up very well. My only problem was that they reported they were done so I went up on the roof to inspect the job. It was not complete and required another half hour or so to finish. The end result looks very good, but I was disappointed that I had to find out the work was not complete.

Bob was diligent in finding the problem and fixing it. He came out the afternoon that I called him. He put flashing around and told me the chimney was built too close to the ridge line. He also tuck pointed the chimney. He gave me tips on other things that I needed.

He was very punctual. He actually called me back the same day and came out quickly. He did do something extra that turned out to be a problem. He came out in a reasonable time and took care of the problem. He actually came early than he said he would. He was very nice and very personable.

They were very responsive in answering phone calls, and of 4 estimates, he was the only mason who actually got on the roof to inspect the chimneys directly. He was fast and cleaned up everything, and in addition added sealer to the stone veneer of our house.

They called to let us know they were on the way to do the work. Both men were congenial, pleasant, and professional. They also offered some free advice regarding cleaning and sealing brick for work that I could do myself.

Bob came out and quoted a reasonable price to tuckpoint front steps. I agreed to the price and he promised to come out one week later after he bought white mortar. After our initial meeting, I called him to confirm that the work would be performed on July 11. He never arrived. He later called and left a curt message saying the job was too small and that he wasn't going to come. I had even recommended him to a friend for her chimney work and now he has left me high and dry- completely unprofessional.

Responded quickly to initial phone call. Set up time for repair and called a day early to see if he could start sooner. The work was done in a very neat and orderly manner. Original work only called for leveling the landing step. When rotted fascia board was discovered, he also replaced that section of board.
