Things worked out pretty well. I would travel 15 miles farther just to use them again.

Very good work!  Two-year warranty!  They gave me $50 off my bill from a coupon.  More expensive than other shops but you get what you pay for and I want my repairs done right.  I prefer a small mechanic’s shop that is locally owned and the service was excellent.  Provided free shuttle service locally which helped a lot with scheduling.

They are good, but they cost a lot of money. The speed is not my concern, my main concern is that it is done right. You can't find people that do good work. There are only two automotive shops that I use, and they are one of them.

The work itself seemed fine---it did take longer than expected though, but since they provide a shuttle for nearby residents that was okay. It was the response afterward that was unacceptable. Right after I had the work done, I had difficulty on several occasions restarting the car on a warm start. Never had the problem before in 100,000 miles. I called Hoffman's to make arrangements for them to recheck the car. Not only did the owner seem unwilling to acknowledge that the hard starting was a result of the tune up they did (c'mon---this was not a mere coincidence), but he was unwilling to help accommodate my schedule at all. If you caused the problem, you should be bending over backwards to try to remedy it.
I originally went to a small, local business for the supposed personal attention. I didn't get it at Hoffman's. What I did get, and continue to get, is bombarded with postcards and robo-calls from them. I have since taken my business to a large dealer in the area, where I surprisingly get better service!

They recommended parts that I did not need to complete the service. The charges where extremely high compared to the competition. Not satisfied with the work at all. Would not go back.

They called and explained what needed to be repaired. I concurred with the recommendation to replace all the lines under the vehicle (it is 12 years old and I had gotten under the vehicle and confirmed that the other lines were in pretty bad shape). This is work I could have done myself, but I didn't have a lift so couldn't get clearance to the underside of the car to do the job myself.
While they were repairing, I got a call that they recommended the following repairs: new brake shoes on the back (they were needed, but I do that work myself), new wheel cylinders on the back (not needed as the old ones are not leaking), new front pads (I do that work myself), new calipers on the front (not needed), new rotors on the front (not needed) and a new serpentine belt (reported that it was cracked. It was not). I was also surprised at the quote for the serpentine belt - about $150. A bit pricey.
So the bottom line is that if you know your vehicle and what repairs are needed, they do a good job. If you are not mechanically inclined, you may not know that the extra work that they recommend may not be necessary at the time. To be fair, the extra stuff they recommended is probably just them being ultra conservative on repairs - sort of like the doctor who orders tons of tests just to be sure, when we know that one test will address the immediate need. I also have to rate them highly for the fact that when I said no to the additional repairs, they did not try to talk me into them. They accepted and quot;noand quot; and moved on.
The repair did take one day more than they originally estimated. I rated the price as C because I thought the labor rate was a bit excessive, but probably in line with what everyone else is charging.

The experience was very good. They drop you off and pick you back up for oil changes; they also send thank you notes after an oil change. They do very good work and I will use them again in the future.

Have used Hoffman several times for various repairs, and am overall pleased with service. Generally prices are fair and competitive. They are thorough in recommendations, and are honest in what services needed completed immediately and what services are not critical and can wait for another day

They are a family-owned business, so they are not a huge operation. They are extremely professional and helpful. They have been very, very good to work with. They have been very generous and accommodating when helping our family.

I got a sense that they were pressuring me to do more service than I needed at first, but the guy was so genuine that he told me everything that needed to be done on my car. He told me what the most important things were and what things could wait. The price was high, but it seemed about right. It was pretty much the same as the other place I got a quote from. They have a shuttle that will take you home so you don't have to wait for your car.

They were no where near done on the time they were supposed to. 3 days after I dropped my car off and called multiple times the work was not even started. When I picked it up there was still problems. I took it to another mechanic and he got it done quickly for $75.

WAS ABLE TO MAKE APPOINTMENT PROMPTLY. TREATED PROFESSIONALLY, AND WAS IN and OUT. VERY PLEASED WITH SERVICE and WILL DEFINITELY TAKE MY CAR THERE AGAIN.

DELIGHTED WITH SERVICE AND PROFESSIONALISM. TREATED WITH RESPECT. WAS PROVIDED WITH THE COST TO HAVE THE HEADLIGHTS ALIGNED WHICH WAS $20 LESS THAN THE DEALER. MECHANIC CALLED ME AND EXPLAINED WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THE BRAKE PROBLEM WHICH WAS CAUSED BY ANOTHER COMPANY. THE BRAKES HAD TO BE REMOVED AND THE WORKINGS LUBRICATED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR, IT WAS EVEN WASHED! I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S NORMAL, BUT IT SURE WAS A PLEASANT SURPRISE. THE COST WAS COMPARABLE TO OTHERS IN THE AREA AND THE WORK WAS DONE IN AN EXCEPTIONAL MANNER. I WILL USE HOFFMAN'S FOR MY AUTO REPAIR NEEDS IN THE FUTURE.
