I have been using them since the beginning of 2014.
What I like is that I don't need an appointment. You can just go in there for the oil change and the inspection. I can just drive there and they will do it and it takes about an hour and an hour and a half. I sort of like that. Thats similar to one of these drive through places, but since it is the dealer they should be able to inspect it better. The thing I like is it is similar, there is no appointment needed but since they are the dealer they should know more about the car. It takes about an hour, or an hour and a half.
I think they are a little over priced.
As far as I know it has been okay. It was not cheap. That kind of service is fairly routine, unless somebody forgets to put the plug underneath for the oil. They were supposed to wash my car and they didn't. The price kind of threw me off; it was a little bit more expensive than I thought. I just got this car and it is more of a car than I have had in the past. I have not gone around comparing what an oil change would cost for that car. I am assuming they did a good job with quality. They are very professional. I purchased my car from there and I would recommend that somebody go there. They have a good setup. The service people are friendly and the way that they get you in for service is very good. Depending on how you have structured your purchase if you need to get a loaner you can get that, so I really like that.
I was asked for additional service or any other issues. They told me that my car would be done by a certain time. Then I was waiting in the customer area. They have coffee and cookies for free. There is a computer to use for free with wifi.
Ganley offers a free shuttle home or to work which is a great service. I prefered to wait. Unfortunately it took longer than expected, 45-60 min.
They tell you beforehand what the service will be, they usually send out coupons for a 10% or 15% rebate if you are a customer there.
Still it is not cheap, but it is a certified VW service and the work they perform is good.
The staff is under a lot of pressure. They have to provide a special type of service and you always get a phone call or e-mail to rate the service. In order for them to get paid, it always have to be a 10 or a yes. If not, let's say you gave them a 9, you are getting phone calls from the manager asking you what was wrong, what they can do to make you satified. I do not like that at all, it is a game and you have no options. Otherwise you can always say and quot;If you are not doing this and that, you will not earn a 10and quot;.
As a woman they treat me nicely. They take me serious, this is an exeption, not the rule.
To sum it up it is a good experience and I can recommend Ganley in comparison to other VW service departments.
Some of it was wear and tear, some of it was recall, and some of it was just normal maintenance. I didn’t have any problems at all. I like the guy at the counter there; he puts up with me asking a lot of questions because I am not very knowledgeable about cars. I ended up staying there for six hours even though they have cars that will take you wherever you need to go, and he gave me an update about once an hour.
