Mike quoted a pretty reasonable price of 1309.00 for a new single garage door that includes material and labor. My old door is an odd size and will need to be manufactured. Mike told me the estimate is good for 90 days. I will be obtaining other estimates of course, but I found the quality of the precision door to be what I am looking for. I may be using their service before September 2014.

They were reasonably priced and they were prompt. We are having an issue with one of the garage doors so I need to call them and see if they will come back and service the door. Their response was prompt and their price was reasonable and I will find out within the week if they stand behind their product.

House was built in 2005. Have 16ft x 7ft door with two springs. Total cost to replace both springs and replace rollers (at their recommendation) was $550. Price seems excessive. Tried to up-sell us with further parts (cables, drums, etc.) to get lifetime warranty. $20 fuel/energy surcharge also seems excessive. Internet ad advertised lifetime warranty on spring replacement, found this not to be true unless purchase premium package for $700+. Sure wish I would have called another company or done this myself.

My garage door opener was shuddering and not able to open the door. I was very happy that Precision was able to come out the next day since I was leaving on vacation in two days. The service person called to let me know when he was on the way, arrived on time, and was very professional. He gave me two options - replacing a part on my old opener or getting a new one. My opener was 21 years old so I opted to replace it. The installation took a few hours and included new sensors, remotes and an outside keypad. They also installed new wiring. The new opener is so quiet! The installer showed me how to work everything and went step by step through the warranty. I graded a B on price only because I am not sure if I got a great price. I have not paid to have a garage opener installed before. Openers are advertised as between $150 and $250, I paid $700 all together. But I do know for the work done , I think it was very fair so I split between an A and a C.

A cable broke on my garage door. Precision had a coupon in Angie's List magazine offering a service call for $39.95. I had dealt with Precision before when they installed a new opener and was satisfied with that transaction, so I called them to come out for an estimate. We set an appointment for between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Shortly after I spoke with the office, Johnny called me, stated that he was running ahead of schedule and asked if he could come out right then, to which I agreed. Upon his arrival, he cast a cursory glance at the door and told me that it could not be repaired and that I would have to purchase a new garage door for $1100. When I expressed concern at the cost, he said he could fix the door if I would purchase all-new cables, springs, and related hardware for the current door for just under $700. He also pointed out a broken cable on the other door, which he said could void my warranty on the opener. However, he said he would not mention that to the company if I bought the new door or repairs and paid $350 down that day. I told him that I wanted to get other bids. He stated that the service call would be $59.95. When I showed him the coupon, which I had mentioned to the person who took my call, he then said the service call would be $39.95 but I would have to pay an additional $20 for a written estimate. I declined the written estimate, paid for the service call, and said I would contact him after I received additional bids. I asked him if he would open the door so that I could get my car out in the meantime. He refused to do so. I then contacted two other companies for bids. One was unable to come out. The representative of the other company told me that the existing door could easily be repaired. He opened the door so I could move my car out, replaced the broken cables on both doors and a spring for a total of $113. Both doors are now working properly. We also discussed new garage doors. Because I refused Precision's written estimate, I cannot be certain I am comparing apples to applies; however, their triple door (steel plus insulation plus steel) sells for just more than half of what Precision quoted me verbally, and less than Precision wanted to charge me to repair the existing door. I was very disappointed that I was subjected to high-pressure sales tactics by a company I had previously worked with and whose coupon appeared in Angie's List.

I would recommend them to everyone.

One technician came out to do the work. The previous owners of the home had left information about this company because they had originally installed the door. The price was reasonable. But now when I push the button to go down, sometimes it takes a couple times before it reacts.

I called Precision Door Service on a Friday and they said they would be here in an hour and half to two hours. The guy came late, more like in 3 hours time. I thought the prices were high. We broke a spring about 2 weeks later and a different guy came out and fixed the spring and then replaced the rollers on both doors and that was $800 too. They seemed to be a bit high. I think the first 2 guys could have been more professional. They were supposed to be able to hook it up to our car thing that we can use to open the doors and nobody could do that, so we have to go with their little beeper things. When I talked to them they said "oh yeah we can do that," and about 3 different guys tried it and couldn't do it. The first guy came Friday night and said that he would be back tomorrow. Then he and a second guy came out the next day and they replaced both door openers. The price seemed to be awfully high to me. I would call different places before I call them. They are a 24 hour on call service and it turned out to be more like 48 hours. '

They are the ones that ripped me off really bad. They came down and sold me things that I did not need. I was out of town and my mom was here. They talked her into over $600 worth of work. I had a different garage person come out who I thought did a great job and he actually told me how Precision Door Svc works and I also saw how bad they were on T.V. They just try to sell whatever they can, whether I need it or not; it is very bad.

I haven’t had a reoccurrence of either problem. I am satisfied with the work. They even came out on the weekend.

This company is way over priced for the servies they perform. Ad indicates a 39.95 service call but total was over $600. I was pressured to replace rollers and other components. Tech would not just replace my spring that broke the night before. I will look for other companies in the future.

They were excellent. I called them, they told me what time they would be there. They called back and said they were running a little ahead of schedule and they showed up an hour earlier than originally stated which was great. Completed the fix in a short amount of time and provided a great service.

They were great. When I called them they said they would have someone out in a couple hours and he was here when they said he would be. The guy was fantastic and we liked him a lot. He was very courteous and he explained all the options and the costs to me. I was very satisfied with them. They knew what they were doing.

That make shift solution was not acceptable, and they had to come out a second.

The work took about 6 hours. The garage door weighs 400 pounds and I was pulling up up by hand when I bought the house. The opener installed is really quiet, it can't be heard in the living room above the garage. It has a lifetime warranty on all the parts.

On December 5th, my automatic door began "acting up". When activated, the door would only open half way. I assumed this to be a warranty issue as the company had done work for me before. (During my first contact with Precision Door in 10/06, I, too, had fallen for the "bait and switch" door "overhaul" recommendation reported by a previous respondent...to the tune of $500!). I immediately called the company and they were quick to schedule another visit by a technician for the following morning. He arrived and determined that it was not the door parts he had earlier replaced (under warranty) but that it was the opener that was malfunctioning. He adjusted the force settings on the opener (turn two screws) and lubed the door track (5 minutes). For 10 minutes work I was charged $65 dollars, an amount I found excessive in light of the fact that I'd recently dropped over $500.00 on some dubious repairs. I called to complain and was told a manager would contact me. Nothing so far..

We needed the garage door replaced because it was not holding in place but coming down. The repair technician was very professional and explained what he was going to do. The price was high, which was our only complaint.

OFFERED LOW WEEKEND RATE FOR REPAIRS. STATED ON THE PHONE THAT WOULD REPAIR OUR DOOR. WHEN HE ARRIVED WANTED TO REPLACE UP TO $500 WORTH OF PARTS AND WOULD NOT MAKE REQUESTED REPAIR WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CHARGES. BAIT AND SWITCH.
