We were thoroughly impressed with J.P.Grabenstetter Construction and would highly recommend this company. My wife and I were very pleased with the quality of work that was done to finish our basement. We also felt extremely comfortable with each crew member who entered our home. The project started and ended on time. Any order changes we had made were easily worked into the schedule and there were no surprises or bumps along the way. John's crew has a wide range of knowledge in many different areas of construction. Not only were they able to finish off our basement and make it look absolutely beautiful, but they also were able to do so much more. For instance, they installed our sump pump, changed out the original heat ducts and took a pipe that originally was in the middle of our basement going through our cement floor and moved it out of view behind a wall. John's pricing was fair. It was competitive with the other companies in which we received estimates, but John was the only one who was able to answer all of our questions and give suggestions. This most likely was because John is an experienced home construction laborer, while other companies simply send out a salesman. Therefore, it made our choice easy on who to go with and I am glad we chose J.P. Grabenstetter.

John and his crew did an outstanding job on our basement! It was everything we pictured and wanted for our house! The communication and service provided was the best anyone could ask for! I would recommend and trust these guys to do anything we needed in our house! I highly recommend using there services! Thank you again John, you guys are the best!!

John and his team not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Unlike many contractors, John did exactly what he agreed to with professionalism and punctuality. I have never experienced a group of tradesmen who were on time and performed quality craftsmanship like John's team. Bar none, his craftsmen were friendly and did a quality job as I expected. The project was completed on time and once the job was done, John personally followed up and dealt with a few minor imperfections that in any job inevitably occurs. I cannot emphasize enough my satisfaction with this company. Highly recommend.

We could not have been happier with John, his crew, and his excellent work. Every one was very professional. They were even great with my kids and my cat! John was a great communicator, had very good design suggestions, and never left until the job was done. We wouldn't dream of using anyone else when we do our next project! Thank you John! He is our contractor for life! He and his team are the best. As soon as John came in the door to give an estimate, we knew that he was the contractor for us. He is very professional, and he did exactly what he said he was going to do.

Quality of work was excellent and was done on time. John is very organized and keeps his crew on schedule. There were a few small minor things that needed to be handled after the completion of the job and John personally took care of them quickly.

John and his crew(s) provided a very cost effective, high quality finishing for our basement and mudroom. I had 12 quotes, John's was competitive and he HELPS keep cost down. Our final product is excellent- and that's all one can ask for. I would hire John again without question. We encountered small delays due to the holidays, yet nothing that would be deemed excessive. I certainly recommend having the outside trades people lined up and ready to go. I found his communication to be average (I may be a overly critical about communication), yet I certainly recommend combing through the contract with a fine tooth comb as items pop up that you may not anticipate (and maybe he should?- very debatable). Also, he indirectly relies on you to push outside trade people; granite, carpet, fireplace etc. So I did a considerable about of phone calls and such to help keep the schedule. Again, I may overly critical of communication and organization. Drywall cleaning was an issue; the draywallers did not do a good job of containing or prepping the area for work. As a result I spend a lot of time cleaning myself (my expectations my be higher than others- but I spent hours cleaning the dust and residue). Overall, John and his crew were professional. I've heard horror stories about other contractors, but not with John. Overall the product came out excellent, he and his crew were polite and professional, and I will use his services again without hesitation- that's really the best compliment.

John and his team did a fantastic job, we are very pleased with our finished basement. Communication was very prompt and timely. All of his team were trustworthy and easy to work with. Overall length of time for the project was longer than quoted, however delays were out of their control. Vendor recommendations provided good customer service. Overall, we love our new basement, quality was top notch. Would highly recommend him!

John and his crew did an amazing job in transforming our basement. We now have over 900 sq. ft. of additional living space that includes a wet bar, workout area, and home theater. The craftsmanship is first-rate, and everyone involved in the project was professional and courteous. John got the job done right, on time, and on budget.

John and his crew were extremely friendly and flexible throughout the process. Even the most minor issues were remedied. Most importantly, John stands behind his work after completion. Several doors began sticking once the humidity rose, and his crew returned to replace door jambs, trim, and refinish. Definitely a recommended contractor.

The beginning process was done quickly and workers came even on Saturdays to stay on time. As the process reached week 4 we had 7 days of no workers which became frustrating. I know there were complications with other clients changing ideas. The 5 week proposal was finished in 7 weeks. We are very pleased at the end result and believe John created a wonderful space for our family. John's crew were VERY polite, professional, friendly to my dog and children. I felt very comfortable leaving my home each day. Thank you John and the crew for a beautiful basement!

John and his team were very professional. His quote was extremely detailed (more than any other quote we received) and easy to understand. He listened to what we were looking for and gave great suggestions/ideas regarding our project. We are very pleased we chose John to finish our basement and would definitely recommend him to others.

We were very lucky to have found John and his team. His initial quote and contract were very detailed, the price was very fair, and the work was excellent. John offered very good ideas to complement and enhance our design, and the entire project was completed on schedule and in a timely fashion. We had a couple surprises/issues along the way and we feel that John was very fair with that as well. John and his whole team are the most complete professionals I've hired for a construction project. From his detailed estimate, to starting and delivering on time or even early, to his attention to detail in cleanliness (e.g. one guy is shop vacuuming dust at the same time another is cutting the drywall), I've been very impressed. He was also the most reasonable price-wise and has been great about helping with change orders throughout the project.
