After deciding not to hire Mr. Consaga for my move he became rude and unprofessional. While his high ratings on Angie's List would have led me to recommend him to others for consideration in the future his final emails to me completely eliminated that possibility. Mr. Consaga offered an price for a move that involved storage and 2 pick up points that was slightly higher than others who gave me estimates. The original estimate he gave was $1800 to move our items into a storage facility in Westchester, NY ($1500 for the first pick up from Bronx, NY & an additional $300 for additional pick up in Queens, NY), and $1200 for moving our things from storage to our new home in New Rochelle, NY. After I explained that the his price and the cost of the storage facility he'd suggested were somewhat high, he offered to discount the second move to $1000. He also arranged for his contact at the storage facility to give us a discounted price (2 months for the price of one). While I did reserve a storage unit, I made it clear to Mr. Consaga and to the customer representative at the storage facility that I was only doing so to hold the spot, and that I was still getting estimates. Throughout the entire process of negotiating price, Mr. Consaga was responsive and was working to give me the best deal he could. Although I explained to Mr. Consaga in two separate emails that I was still in the process of making a decision, his reaction to the news that I had decided to go with another company was shockingly unprofessional! Mr. Consaga's response to me was "That's not very professional as I'm the one who lowered the price and got westys to give a deal." When I replied reminding him that I had made it clear that we had not made a decision to go with him and that we were still getting estimates, he responded "ive heard it all, dosnt surprise me" The email exchanges are copied below and speak for themselves. I should note that my interactions with other moving professionals have been nothing but cordial, and they were gracious when I informed them that I was going with another company. To:

[email protected] Hi, I believe I made it very clear on my end that I was in the process of obtaining estimates for the move (see my Jan 6 and email below), and I only reserved with Westy's because they suggested I do so to hold the space. As a courtesy, I emailed you to let you know that we had made our final decision. Given these circumstances, I believe that your response, not mine, is quite unprofessional and rude. Rosa JAN 6 EMAIL: Hi Jimmy, Thanks following up with me. I booked a room because the gentleman I spoke with suggested it might get reserved by someone else if I waited. At that point, I had not seen your email with Tim Mincin's name/contact information. Since I made the reservation, another woman called me and told me about a promotion they're running in the White Plains location (The area you recommended did not have the size room we need). I'm waiting to hear back I should clarify that I am still getting estimates from various companies. I am concerned that your estimate is more than I budgeted (Westy's is also pretty high at $268/month and they don't pro-rate--I'll see what happens when the rep calls me back). Of course, I completely understand that my circumstance involves two moves (not including the Queens trip), and you are a professional with a crew to pay and a truck to maintain, etc. You came very highly recommended through Angie's List, but as educators with three small children, we're on tight budget. We're trying to figure out how to get the best service while staying within our means. I will absolutely keep in mind that I need to make a decision relatively soon and advise you either way. Thanks so much, Rosa JAN 7 EMAIL Hi Jimmy, Thanks for trying to work with me. I'll check with Westys to see about changing the location. In the end, they gave me a decent deal with either 2 months at $268 or 1 at half the price. That seems fair. I know that we'll need to make our decision ASAP. I'll let you know by mid-week, if possible. Unfortunately, we're still waiting for the closing date on our co-op, so I don't even have a date yet. It's very frustrating. Anyway, thanks again for trying to work with me
