 + 0 moreI managed to schedule a move with Jimmy only a few weeks in advance but still got exactly the day I wanted. It was a very quick arrangement - did the list online, Jimmy emailed a quick quote, I accepted, he sent the contract and we had a booking. There's not a lot of hand-holding but there's also no fuss. On the day, they were on time, the crew was great: friendly, respectful of our possessions and eager to get things right - very professional. They moved everything by mid-afternoon, were happy to move things that didn't look like they were in the right place and careful not to break anything. They added in a rubbish dump at the end of the day to clear out the old location without a problem and brought over extra boxes when we ran out. All in all a very good experience, everything was easy and well-organized and - dare I say - an almost stressfree move! Would have preferred to have the wardrobe boxes in advance so that the clothes could have been packed before they arrived, it worked out fine but I suggest you request that you get them before the move day. I'll use them again and I don't hesitate to recommend them. Thanks guys!

 + -1 moreThis is the third move I had this company do a move for me. Each time they have been extremely prompt and performed their service very well without complaints. They also took the time to show me any scratched or damaged furniture before moving so therer is no question of liability later. On this move I underestimated the amount to be moved. Jimmy brought a truck appropriate to the list I gave him. He had to come back a second day for the remainder as not everything fit. He was very fair and did not complain about my error. have already recommended this company to other people and will use them again when my house in Pa sells. I am so impressed they show up on time. I can remember moves where the movers where hours late or never coming at all. These guys are on- time or arrive early. Jimmy the owner returns your call within nano seconds for an estimate or date.

 + -1 moreMove went very well. The crew were all very sharp and professional. I do suggest making sure to be very detailed about what you are moving on the estimate form. Since it was on such short notice, I filled out the form as a ballpark estimate, and missed a few things such as putting down an estimate of the number of weights (from a weight set) instead of the total pounds. But in the end, Jimmy was very accommodating and took it in stride.

Lots of steps on both ends and lots of furniture. They used a small truck and made a few trips which worked out to be easier on us. I would use them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

 + -1 moreJimmy (the owner) and his team of four guys arrived right on time at 8:00 am and started loading boxes and furniture. The team was professional and efficient. The foreman of the team always asked for instructions, and always noted to me if a piece of furniture had pre-existing damage. Some items were not pre-packed, but the team efficiently and carefully wrapped and/or packed these things. Any furniture with drawers were wrapped with plastic to make them secure. I had more stuff than the movers expected, but they are obviously experts at efficient packing, because everything fit on the truck they arrived in. These guys were FAST. The entire move, from loading to unloading took only 4.5 hours. I labelled most boxes with location to be moved, and they always put them in the right place. When in doubt, they always asked me first. The foreman of the team assembled the large wardrobe closet at the new site for me. I was amazed at how fast and skillfully he put it back together, without instructions. This team prides themselves on their speed, efficiency, and professionalism, and I can positively vouch for all of it.
Description of Work: Moved boxes and furniture from a one-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom apartment. The distance between the apartments was about 15 miles. Three pieces of furniture, a futon bed, a large IKEA bookcase, and a large IKEA wardrobe closet, had to be disassembled to be removed from the original apartment. At my request, the movers put the wardrobe back together.

 + -1 moreJimmy and his crew showed up on time, ready to go. One of the guys asked me to tour the house with him to discuss confirm which items were being moved. I had a chance to ask questions, make requests, etc. They took all of our boxes first and put them in a seperate, smaller van to keep them safe. We were still packing boxes when they arrived and they continued to haul them away as we were ready. The guys started on the larger furniture items next and filled a very large truck and had to go up and down many flights of stairs (moving the piano was a huge job and they did it flawlessly). They were very fast as well - we began at 8am and all the furniture, boxes, outdoor items, rubbish were packed and ready to haul away by just after noon. We arrived at our new home by 1pm and they had everything unloaded within a couple of hours. They were very respectful of our new neighbors when parking the large truck & van (which we appreciated being new to the neighborhood). One thing I liked very much was the final trip around the house to confirm I was happy with the furniture placement. They re-arranged a few items for me with a smile! Thanks very much!!
Description of Work: Jimmy and his crew were fantastic! They showed up right on time, ready to get to work. They were positive, communicative and every request was met with a smile. Very professional and pleasure to work with. The home we moved from had 2 flights of narrow, stone steps outside and 3 flights of stairs inside - not an easy job by any means. Our home was 2400 square ft - 4 bedroom, 2 bath. It was a pretty big job. Jimmy and his crew also moved all our outdoor furniture and accomodated a last minute request to dispose of an old piano & a bbq that had seen better days. The price was very reasonable and I highly recommend them.

 + 0 moreA Man with a Van and More was the perfect moving solution for us and probably for anyone else in Westchester county. They arrived 10 minutes before our scheduled time and finished in under an hour, thanks to their decision to bring a few extra guys (at no cost to me). I was worried that some of our large furniture (couch and piano) wouldn't fit up the stairwell and past the 90 degree turn to our second floor apartment. Jimmy went over to my apartment ahead of time to check out the dimensions. I had peace of mind knowing that his skilled movers would be able to carry everything in. They treated our piano and other belongings with care and respect. I would strongly recommend them!

They took amazing care of everything- wrapped the things I had no idea how to, took apart shelving, made me aware of why some things could be stored on their sides and others couldn't. The van was spotless. They left my house without a scratch or dent anywhere. They unloaded everything just as carefully as they loaded it. The guys were polite, quiet, and didn't complain even when they had to repeatedly step over our dog! Jimmy personally supervised everything and was a great advisor- he made this much less stressful than it could have been!
Description of Work: Moving that included everything from a 3 bedroom house including 40 book boxes, exercycle, and 6 foot long wooden desk.

 + -1 moreI found Jimmy on Angies list and was impressed by the reviews. They showed up on time and with 6 men as opposed to the 3 mentioned in the quote. They were corteous, polite and professional. They wrapped all the furniture and disassembled what was not. On the other end I walked them through the house to show them the rooms so I could stay outside and direct where each piece would go. At the end there were a few pieces that were misplaced and the guys took care of it. They took care not to damge either house or any of the furniture When it came time to pay there were no games, the price was exactly as quoted. It was our third year in a row moving and Jimmy and his crew made it a breeze.
Description of Work: Jimmy and his crew moved my family from one house to another. They even disassembled the items I did not have time to do.

File cabinets, glass coffee table, TV, a large glass framed picture and the furniture came securely and beautifully shrink -wrapped and blanket covered. Description of Work: Moved from Queens,NY to Charlestown, RI Today's May 27th move is my second fantastic experience With Jimmy Consaga's Man With A Van and More and his outstanding team. Earlier in April in a matter of a few hours, the garage, basement, outside premises and three stories of my 1931 home were cleared of accummulated lifestuff in preparation for a move to a new home in Rhode Island. The hauling was done efficiently, quickly and professionally. (see my April 15th review) When the May 7th closing date in Charlestown fell through I notified Jimmy of the delay. His instant text read: "Don't worry we will help you." He phoned me and spent time reworking his busy schedule for a May 27th Memorial weekend move. He calmed my anxiety and reassured me that should I need help with the packing his crew would help me if the closing date issue became a problem again. He was flexible, responsive at all times and ready to work with my situation. Finally with my May 24th closing in Rhode Island, the Queens house move was entirely in Jimmy's hands. He kept me up to the minute with his plan to load the truck on on Saturday afternoon and make the early Sunday move on the 27th. Additional trash had to be hauled and this was scheduled as a separate job at a very reasonable cost. My entire move to RI cost $2800.

 + -1 moreThis is the second time I have used Jimmy and his crew. Both times, the work was performed extremely well. Jimmy is very straight-forward, professional and efficient. He worked with me to find a time that worked for both within one week of first contact (he offered to do it within 2 days but I wasn't ready). The crew was punctual, polite, conscientous and careful. They did everything they needed to do in a challenging situation (moving and assembling giant heavy furniture in a cramped old house); I am very happy with the work and will use them again.

Every piece of furniture was picked up and nothing was dragged. I was very worried about my wooden floors because I had just had them finished and Jimmy told me that I would not have to worry. He was right, and I was very happy with their service. The only mishap was that we had a glass from the china cabinet that shattered. They were very responsible and took the broken glass and got a replacement, which they later installed into the cabinet. Jimmy was very helpful and he and his men made the move, which could be very stressful, go smoothly. I highly recommend them.

 + 0 moreIn moving my mother from CT to MA, Man with A Van both moved her furniture from CT to MA and disposed of furniture she was not able to move. They also moved furniture to my sister's in Virginia. What promised to be one of those nightmare moves where things were going in multiple directions, under a tight timeline because of a closing date, proved to be the smoothest, most pleasant experience I can imagine. Jimmy was extremely responsive, always called me back immediately, was flexible as our plans changed, and got the job done in record time. He employes a crack team of helpers as well. Man with a Van is the Cadillac of customer service when it comes to moving. I plan to use them from now on.
Description of Work: We were able to get an estimate on line. Once we'd agreed to dates and prices, the company packed a full house of furniture, etc. and moved it to MA and VA.
