 + 0 moreThe workman arrived as agreed, and finished the job in two days. I thought he did a great job, plus he rerouted drain pipes from the old bathtub that were not properly installed. The only downside was that he put a hole in the wall in a hallway directly opposite the shower wall of the bath/shower surround. He patched the hole with wall board compound, and did a good job of it. He did not mention this, and I had to ask him about it. He then apoligized, and offered to paint it, but I had no matching paint to do it. I need to paint that hallway anyway, but I was a bit disturbed that he left it for me to discover, without saying anything about it.
Description of Work: Removal of existing fiberglass tub/shower and replacement with new Sterling Accord Vikrell tub/shower. Mortar mix below tub included, as well as all drywall work. Painting not included.

 + -1 moreInitial estimate was delivered quickly, and making changes to suit changes in materials or budgets was not a problem. Dan provided assistance with selection of final materials. Two workers were on site and had the job completed within a week. The project manager was good about keeping us apprised of the schedule, and stopped in to check on the work in process. Every day the site was cleaned, and the guys took care to minimize the dust and debris during the construction. Very pleased with the results.

 + 0 moreThey charged me about $250 for the air conditioner and $100 for the water heater. It was a positive experience with them. The air conditioning guy definitely knew what he was talking about and saved us some money. A lot of other guys came and tried to sell us stuff. It’s like two separate guys doing two separate jobs. The others were a little bit pushier. I don’t think I will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used D’Angelos Plumbing & Heating. I last used their services in July. They came and did some maintenance on a water heater and on an air conditioning unit.

 + -1 moreWe looked for a reputable firm, saw that D'Angelo's was awarded "Rochester's Best" award. This because the previous plumber made the leaking toilet problem worse - by breaking the toilet while attempting to fix the toilet.
Description of Work: Came to repair toilet and, at reasonable cost, replaced with a much better product and longer-term solution.

 + 1 moreThe installation work was completed in about 6 hours. Total cost of $5,367 does not include the rebates and tax deduction. The furnace has been going strong for 2 months with no problems. The blower fan is very quiet and often times you don't even know it's on. The house temperature is pretty constant now and doesn't fluctuate as much as with the old furnace. The humidifier makes the air comportable to breathe; the air used to get so dry.
Description of Work: D'Angelos did our annual furnace cleaning, we've used them for years. They tested our ducts and found low levels of carbon monoxide (5 ppm). The carbon monoxide detectors in our home didn't detect the low concentration since they're designed to measure acute levels. They replaced our old gas furnace with a Trane XV95 high efficiency variable speed gas furnace. Also included a new programmable thermostat, humidifier, and 50 gal. AO Smith hot water heater. 10-year parts and labor warranty plus free cleanings for life and 0% financing. The new furnace vents out the side of the house. Duct work was also modified slightly.

 + 0 moreDrew from D'Angelo's came and looked at my setup and figured out the most efficient place to put a bathroom to minimize my cost, and designed the new setup.. He was able to design a nice workable bathroom with a full tub, even next to a slanting wall. There was some delay in getting started, due to a backorder on the tub, but that was unavoidable. Scott and Chris who came worked diligently, efficiently, and did a wonderful job. They worked well with the space and even installed a medicine cabinet and cabinet light that had not been part of the original spec. The plumbing work was done neatly, with minimum disruption to me. They built the entire room (framing etc), installed all the sink,toilet, and bath/shower unit, installed tile flooring and installed the dry wall. The finished product was very neat, tidy and attractive. I was very happy with the result, and would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: D'Angelo's added a brand new bathroom to my upstairs finished attic space (I have a 1 1/2 story), which previously had no bathroom, or plumbing running to it.

 + -1 moreThis project was easy thanks to the staff at D'Angelos. Making the appointments for the estimate and performing the job was easy, and there wasn't a long wait for either. They were very professional and yet friendly, without letting my conversations get in the way of their work, and I can be chatty. They informed us of the work process throughout the time they were in the home, letting us know when they needed to shut off the gas and water at times. When the job was complete they walked us through everything they had done, answering all questions. They left the work areas clean and even offered to come and hook up the dryer to the gas line when it actually arrives (Lowes would charge $130 for this). I am really pleased with the work they performed, feel it was money very well spent and will definitely hire them for future work.
Description of Work: We are replacing an old washing machine and getting a new gas dryer (there isn't one at all in the house). The laundry room had a double basin for washer water output. Two gentlemen from D'Angelos came, and in about 4 hours got our laundry room ready for the new appliances. They disconnected the basin and installed it in the basement, including setting up the supply lines, drainage to the sewer and even a new faucet. They even bolted it to the floor for added stability, which I did not expect. They then reworked the water intake line to the laundry room so the new dryer can be placed closer to the wall. They also installed a new, larger output drain pipe and mini vent for the washer machine to make sure there would be no overflow when the washer drained. Last, but not least, they got the laundry room ready for the gas dryer by installing a new gas line and hookup. The house did have a vent, but it was in the basement below, so they made the necessary hole in the floor and extended the vent pipe into the laundry room.

 + 0 moreJeff from D'Angelos was very repsonsive, getting us a competitive price quote within a day, and talking us out of the more expensive tankless hot-water heater when he knew it wouldn't work with the changing pressure of a well pump. Then our existing furnace quit. They squeezed us in between other jobs to get us heat and made a second trip to make sure everything was working the way it should. Jeff was here to overseee the work. Most of all, you have to love guys (thanks to you too Pat) who are still working in your cellar (and I mean cellar not a basement) at 7:30 on a Friday night to make sure you're okay for the weekend. The furnace runs like it is supposed to. Cheaper isn't always better. Overall, easily the best experience we've ever had with any home improvements or maintenance.
Description of Work: Installed new high-efficiency furnace and hot-water tank, switched fuel from oil to propane.

He came when he said he was going to. I didn't have any complaints. He couldn't come right away, but he called. Then I had to cancel one time and he rearranged his schedule. His price was reasonable. I am planning to call him again to get other things done.

 + -1 moreI had a problem with my toilet after they put it back on after about a month it started running constantly. I called them and they said they were not discussing anything with me because I only had 30 days to complain. I never had this problem with my toilet until they fixed it. I am very upset with them and they would not even acknowledge that they could have did it. I had to call someone else to fix it after I paid them all that money to fix it for an hour. I am not happy with the situation and I would not use them again because I know they messed up and didn't admit to it.
Description of Work: D'Angelos replaced the worn down flange under my toilet and put the toilet back on. It only took them about an hour.
