[Member Name Removed], thank you for the review and I am sorry I did not meet your expectations. Yes I did arrive early and I am sorry if that was an inconvenience. When you work in the field going from house to house it is very hard to pinpoint an exact arrival time as you never know how long the previous job will take or what traffic you may or may not hit. When I arrived you informed me that your clothes were not drying and thought it might be a vent issue. We then proceeded to the dryer and I started a visual inspection of the vent line. I then went outside and climbed on my ladder and looked into the vent from the outside and pulled out handfuls of large chunks of lint that were accumulated on the end of the vent. At this point I came back in and told you that after pulling out those large chunks I was able to see in the vent and the vent was flexible that was run in between the ceiling and flexible in a wall could not be cleaned as the brushes would rip it. I informed you at that point that the vent was installed with a piece of rigid pipe on each end and flexible buried in the wall so as to deceive a home inspector and he would think you had rigid the whole length. You then brought me throughout your house and showed me all the large holes in your walls and ceilings showing me the new heating ducts you had to have installed because the home inspector didn’t catch a faulty heating system and how it cost you thousands of dollars. You told me the home inspector refunded your money to you but the repairs were on you and that the whole house had so many things wrong with it that the home inspector did not catch them. I informed you at that point that if it was my house I would buy a ventless condensing dryer because of the location of your dryer being tucked into a makeshift closet under stairs. The expense of running a new vent either through the ceiling or as the other gentleman at your house at that time recommended, through a bedroom closet and out the front of your house would be more money than a ventless condensing dryer. I said I could blast some air through the vent to give you some temporary relief until you decide what you wanted to do but it may damage the flexible line and did not recommend it since there were already old condensation marks on the ceiling where the vent was already leaking and we didn’t know how much condensation was still in the line. I said I would email you a copy of the building code to read to help you in your decision and shook your hand and said if you have any questions to give me a call. You then asked me how much you owed me at your front door and I said don’t worry about it as I don’t charge for inspections. I wish I could take a picture of the email you sent me in response to the email I sent you with the building code attached because your exact words were “Thank you. Pleasure meeting you!
