I agree with others that Cathy is extremely responsive and professional, and due in large part to Cathy, I have held off for 2 months to write this review, which is ultimately very mixed. But in the end I have written this review because I would have appreciated seeing it prior to deciding on a cleaning service. We started with monthly cleanings in April 2013, and increased to bi-weekly cleanings in August. We were never home for the cleanings so met with Cathy and her staff the first time in person, walked her through the house, got a quote and proceeded thereon by leaving them the keys for the cleanings. Price was fine, although it should be noted that unlike most other cleaning services, TLC charged the same rate for bi-weekly cleanings as for monthly cleanings, whereas all the other places I interviewed charged slightly less if the frequency increased. I wouldn't have really had an issue with this if everything was cleaned consistently, but that wasn't the case. Half the time, the cleans were great -- everything was spotless, but the other half, we would find bits of paper towels in the bathrooms, surfaces not wiped or cleaned, and noticeable bits of debris in the kitchen, as if someone just rushed through everything. Initially I would point out issues when we noticed them after the fact, and Cathy would always respond promptly to my concern and the next clean would always be thoroughly done. Finally about 7 months into using TLC, I noticed that 2 of our shelves in the master bathroom had not been cleaned AT ALL after one of our bi-weekly cleanings (they were sticky and goopy to the touch, and on one of the shelves the bottles had been moved around but the surface not cleaned, and the other nothing appeared to have been moved at all). I decided not to say anything for once to see if it was just a one-time event, which would not have been a big deal. The next time the same thing happened again and the same top shelf was still completely neglected -- goop and all. That was when I just decided to cancel the service because I didn't want to be in the business of inspecting after every clean to make sure they did what they should have done, and having to complain if it wasn't. Yes, it would be fixed the next time, but that's kind of besides the point when what I wanted (and thought I was paying for) was a consistently clean home, every (or at least most of the) time.

Kathy and her team of 4 did an amazing job of cleaning our apartment that we just purchased. The seller did not leave the place in very good condition and had not been lived in for several months. The kitchen was in such bad shape prior to the cleaning that I barely wanted to go in it much less use it. After just a couple hours the kitchen and the entire apartment was in such great shape that I felt comfortable having my one year old daughter live there. Also we had called Kathy on very short notice to do the cleaning the day before Thanksgiving. She was able to work us into her schedule. She was extremely polite and professional. I will definitely use Kathy and her team again and highly recommend them.

Fantastic! Kathy got in touch with me right away and was willing to work around my last-minute schedule. The three ladies did an incredible job -- the house was cleaned from top to bottom in about 2.5 hours and smelled wonderful afterwards. Kathy even helped me get our new keys out of the lockbox and showed/helped me get a decal off a glass doorwall. She was extremely thoughtful and helpful, and her employees were extremely professional and efficient. I would recommend TLC to everybody!

Cathy was extrememly responsive, polite and very accommodating to my request for a move-in cleaning. I actually didn't want to write this review because Cathy was so nice, but I do feel the reason consumers pay for Angie's List, including myself, is transparency. The problem came with her employees. They completely took advantage of me! I had literally just closed on my new home and had an alarm and oil guy in the home the same time the women were cleaning. The previous owners were clean people so the home didn't need to be sanitized to the bones, but it needed to be cleaned, NOT SUPERFICIALLY cleaned. I had told Cathy a couple things that definitely needed attention such as my master bathroom shower and she pointed these things out to the girls in spanish in front of me (my spanish isn't excellent, but I picked up the basics that she certainly told them). Unfortunately, Cathy could not make it back to my property to review the girls work so she called me and asked me to review it. I obliged, but it was an inconvenience because I had to tend to the alarm and oil guy, which were much more important than being the chief of the cleaning police. They did a horrible job, initially the things in the shower I told Cthay about still were not done. I politely pointed these out and they quickly cleaned them. I only had time to go into the kitchen after and inspect the refrigerator. It was still FILTHY! Even the egg tray holders were still dusty, I told the head woman about this and she stated it was cleaned, so I physically walked her over to show here the dirt. She cleaned them and then I just gave up! I didn't have time for this inspection process. I took pictures of the refrigerator to show Cathy the drawers full of crumbs and dirt still. I had seen in a previous post that Cathy responded to a negative review by telling the customer she had wished that they had reached out to her to fix the issue, but if these women did a horrible job the first time why in the work would I invite them back to my home to re-do the job. If you need a superficial clean this crew was ok. If you want a true move-in cleaning I would not hire this company or I would make sure Cathy is there at the end of the cleaning service with a fine toothed comb. Needless to say I am still cleaning shelves because they were never fully cleaned in the kitchen and the bathroom vanities.
Description of Work: Move-in home cleaning. I believe the price was in the $550-$600 range for 4 hours, I can't recall the exact. But, she is priced competitively.

When booking the appointment, they were very happy about trying to rearrange their schedule on the only day we could do it before everything was moved in. They were flexible and next thing I know Cathy is texting me when she'd be there with her crew! Cathy showed up with 4 women and got right to work and was very friendly making sure her team knew what was to be done and what wasn't at my discretion. She looked through everything and even explained the process and where they wouldn't waste time. She had the quote right on site and they got right to work! The work took a bit longer than estimated, but that was becuase they were working hard taking care of an older tub that needed a hard scrub. I was happy to pay and they made sure I knew what it would cost to take more time. Cathy and her crew were very professional, quick, thorough (even in 90 degree hot weather!), and friendly. Look forward to another deep clean once we are all moved in!

All went great! First time I met Lorraine and her staff of 4 women. Everyone arrived on time and after a brief conversation began working immediately. The staff was very mannerly, courteous and professional cleaners. They did an outstanding job and went above and beyond my list of instructions!! Lorraine is calling me back with her availability to help me better organize some of my kitchen cabinets and linen closet. I will definitely use TLC cleaning services again. I recommend them highly! Cathy and her amazing team of professional house cleaners rearranged their schedule on short notice for me, a first-time client, when I explained that my apartment had just been painted and was full of dust as a result. I was spending all day out of the apartment with my dog to spare him the chaos and any paint fumes. With the painting finished, it was time to go home to a clean apartment! It needed to be cleaned right away because I was expecting a little dog visitor and the apartment had to be returned to a pet friendly state before his arrival. Many cleaning companies might be unsympathetic to doggie driven urgency but Cathy "got it" and immediately went into action to get my large apartment into super clean condition, ready for my little fuzzy guest. Because my own dog is terrified of vacuums and other cleaning events, I had to trust Cathy and her team to be alone in my home on this first visit. No problem! Everything went perfectly, from start to finish, just as Cathy said it would, down to the last detail. In fact, when I returned home, exhausted from running errands and wanting a cup of coffee, I reached into the dishwasher to get a clean mug. Instead of finding the clean dishes I had left in there, the dishwasher was empty and all the dishes were put away, in the right places, by the TLC team. What a luxury! I would recommend TLC Cleaning Service to anyone who wants their home cleaned by trustworthy professionals who care about their clients' special needs. I am sitting in my sparkling living room right now with two safe, napping dogs and loving every moment.

As a geriatric care manager and elder care consultant I have needed to arrange for the cleaning of the homes of my elderly clients throughout Westchester County, NY. Sometimes it has been a simple cleaning. However, in other situations the senior has allowed years of papers and other memorabilia to accumulate. Understandably, it is difficult to let go. However, when a senior adult's well being and safety becomes an issue, it is time to step in. That is when I have turned to TLC Cleaning. Going into the homes of older adults takes both skill and sensitivity. Lorraine and Cathy have both. In addition, they worked cooperatively with me. I had the familiarity with the senior and they had to work around certain areas that could not be cleaned or moved to another location. One client in particular comes to mind. He had lived in his house for many years. Following the death of his wife, he became severely depressed. He had no family. I was allowed in with the understanding that I would help him pay his bills and nothing more. Nevertheless, I could see the continued accumulation of newspapers, empty cans and bottles. Hospitalized after a fall, it was agreed that the only way he could return home, was if his house was cleaned. Enter TLC cleaning service. After two days of cleaning his house was cleaned with both expertise and sensitivity. He even allowed TLC back on a regular basis. TLC is a service that it is not only about cleaning, but developing a relationship with the people in their homes. I recall walking into another client's home. After completing the job, there was Kathy sitting down and having a conversation with my client. The client's cat was contently sitting in her lap. Perhaps that really tells you what kind of service TLC Cleaning is truly about.

Cathy and her crew were an absolute pleasure to work with. We are undergoing renovations on our home and needed a base cleaning before moving in, as the renovations have created layers and layers of dust everywhere. We had to keep pushing the move-in date due to renovation delays; I had originally scheduled Cathy for one day, then had to call to postpone and postpone again. She was very flexible throughout, and upfront and honest about when her crew would or would not be available. We finally were able to bring them in for part one of the cleaning, which was limited to certain rooms where renovation was done, just to get some of the dust out so that we could move in. We then brought her back a few days later when additional rooms were available. We will have to do a third cleaning as the renovation still continues on some rooms and we'll need a final cleaning before actually unpacking in some rooms. For both cleanings, Cathy arrived with her crew (three women on the first day, two on the second day), and did a walk-through of the house with me to understand what work needed to be done. They asked detailed questions about what vs. what not to do. They brought all their own cleaning supplies, which was great since we had not yet moved and I could not supply a vacuum or other supplies. I was able to leave them there to complete the work, and come back a few hours later. All the requests that I had made had been completed, and the time/cost estimate originally provided was accurate. Our fridge and oven were spotless, and we finally felt we could breathe in the house because the layers of dust had been removed. Given the ongoing renovations, Cathy and crew were very flexible in terms of dealing with the workers onsite, and maneuvering around equipment/activity, even cleaning in places where we didn't have lights fully installed yet or the conditions were not ideal. I would highly recommend Cathy and her crew; I will certainly be reaching out to them again for additional cleanings. Working with TLC and Cathy was one of the only parts of our renovation and moving experience that did not add stress.

Cathy, one of the owners, arrived herself to walk through the property. We were able to point out things that we wanted addressed and also specific products which we wanted used. The team worked very hard despite a rather chaotic environment ? we had several contractors still onsite working. Since then, I have hired TLC on a regular basis. The company sends two or three cleaners who are able to clean the house quickly. I much prefer this model ? sending a team to clean the house in only a couple of hours, versus one individual for the majority of the day. The team is very nice and they're accommodating if you point out something specific that you would like cleaned or how you would like it cleaned. Also, the owner keeps in touch to remind us of appointments, etc. which I appreciate. I would recommend TLC for a professional and thorough cleaning service and plan to continue using them in the future.

Overall, the cleaning wnet very well. I placed a phone call to them and a manager responded promptly with a rough estimate, based on the number of rooms and square footage I provided to her. I indictaed that this was a "rush" job because the house had to be cleaned in time for a final walk-through, and the adjusted their schedule to accomodate our needs. A team of three ladies showed up and cleaned. I gave them little instruction, and they were very aware of what they wer doing. I was very pleased and would recommend them to anyone in need of a service.
Description of Work: We hired TLC in late September of this year to do a major cleaning job on a house that we were selling in Westchester, NY. The house had to be very clean before the final walk-through by the buyers and the realtors on October 1. Although this was my first encounter with TLC, I was very pleased with all aspects of their service. They sent in a team of cleaners who were very professional and thorough. They did the cleaning in a very effficient manner and the house looked spotless by the time they left. The bathrooms and the kitchens were very clean, as well as the baseboards and other places which were not readily visible. I would definitely recommend them to others who are interested in a quality cleaning service. I was very pleased with TLC's service and professionalism. They responded to my call promptly and set up a time to come on the exact date that I was looking for. They showed up on time and worked in a very expedient and professional manner. I had no complaints when they were through with the clean, as were the buyers. I would certainly recommend them to others who ask.

Description of Work: I am here to write about an excellent company that has compassion caring patience and professionalism. I have used this company many times for different projects and have had them take care of relatives and friends who can all say with confidence that this professional courtesous team always gets the job done right and never wastes time. Either a weekly clean for the offices or when i recently prepared my house for the High Holidays I am always impressed with the friendly nature of the TLC team and the patience they have when cleaning ones home. It is a highly personal thing to allow someone into your home and the TLC team makes the experience relaxing and effortless. AS FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS TLC IS SKILLED HELPFUL PROFESSIONAL AND AVAILABLE. Recently we had a situation which many in my generation face when a loving parent begins to age and their health declines. This is a very difficult situation to empower the elderly with their own lives but have a team support when dealing with the day to day activities that one can no longer perform. Because of these highly stressful and personal situations when entering ones home it is nice to know that TLC has a team ready to handle any situation from depressing hoarding to general weekly cleaning . NO ONE WANTS THEIR LOVED ONE TO LIVE IN FILTH !! Of course these days it is crutial to have a trustworthy team who performs these tasks since many continue to work and cannot afford to take off a day in order to have the team come and clean. It is wonderful to have TLC!!! a trustworthy professional and friendly crew who can assist in many of the tasks necessary in cleaning ,organizing and discarding of items. I can confidently say that TLC and their team have a level of compassion caring and professionalism that is lacking with other larger companies that literally dispatch employees remotely. TLC knows each job site , each customer and each situation and that kind of knowledge helps when life gets messy. AND rest assured life gets MESSY ! It is with great appreciation that i take the time out to write this review and applaud TLC for many many jobs well done !!!
