I cannot thank Nick and  his team enough for my gorgeous new Master Bath!  But I will try. 

SO PROFESSIONAL. This experience for us as homeowners, was painless, and we are THRILLED with their work.

Our experience was so refreshing and great after being 'abused" by the crooks out there after Super storm Sandy, so finally, we decided use a top notch AMAZING contractor and luckily we found Nick Pappas. We never worked with anyone like this before. He stuck to his initial timeline too! WHO DOES THAT?

We got a bunch of estimates, and they were neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but what immediately struck us was their responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism, even in regard to the pressure free estimate.There was something about Nick's honesty and confidence that compelled us to sign with him. My husband and I trusted him completely, and we were correct to do so. I can't really explain how happy we are! You would have had to have had the learning curve we experienced as consumers. We are educated, yet we got taken by some unscrupulous folks. So this time, we really made sure our contractors were licensed and insured.. and real!  A family business is the way to go. Especially one that uses the same electrician, plumber, tile guy and painter for all their jobs. They are so in synch with each other, and every detail was perfect. Just listening to them measure is impressive. To the "n"th degree.

Plus, Nick has impeccable taste, and at our request, provided us with his continuous guidance. selecting pieces. When he disagreed with us, he gently suggested the wiser choices, and told us why, and left the decision to us.. and he was right 100% of the time. Coincidentally, our next door neighbor used him too, before us, but AFTER we got our estimate. We were both happy. When I asked my neighbor how it went, he said..

"Clean, efficient, on time, and flawless work" We had same experience. 

1) ALWAYS ON TIME, KEPT HOME CLEAN, and PROTECTED my home and furniture with appropriate covers and drop cloths.

2) Showed up EVERY DAY even in rain and snow

3) NICEST CREW who work with George and Nick on a regular basis, a real team. Owners on premises everyday. 

4) EVERYTHING and EVERYONE.. to code , licensed, etc.

5 ) Nick uses the highest quality materials, and takes NO SHORT CUTS.

6) Patient, answers all questions, talks to you throughout construction.

7) Even after we paid in full, he came back to make minor changes and touch ups (immediately, too) so that we would be completely satisfied.  WHAT A PRO!

We intend to use Pappas Bros for all our construction needs because of the high quality of their work, and their trustworthiness.  I could go on and on, but you get my drift. If you want to hire a contractor who will give you peace of mind...here you go! I guess I'll end my praises by saying this: The first place I take my visitors now, is MY BATHROOM!

Nick and George were extremely personable and kept the job site clean. Because this is a very old home with no previous updates by me, this required more extensive work than a normal renovation.  In the end, the home looks 1000 times better than I ever expected nevertheless how it previously looked. The small details made the biggest differences like refinishing the radiators and the color schemes Nick picked out for the apartment.

I don't remember the exact amount we spent with Nick but we used his company to put new siding on our home a little under a year ago as well as to remove mold and replace a bathroom on our lower level.  Nick and his staff are meticulous and showed up on time every single day.  They cleaned up after themselves each day and were very respectful to my husband and I. Nick returned every call or text message I ever sent him and was very responsive throughout.  When I realized that a piece of siding came loose recently, I called him and he came and not only fixed it a few days later this past week, but he also caulked a spot in my shower that had come loose due to settling.  When our bathroom was being done, he had a top notch electrician, plumber, tile people and painter and even every one of them were terrific to work with.  I am shocked to see some of the poor reviews here since I had a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend him.

Phenomenal company and service.  Polite, punctual, and professional company.  Renovated my 2 family home and added a 3rd floor.  We decided to completely gut our existing house which included 2 kitchens, and 3 baths.  Also all new electric, plumbing, flooring, windows, doors and brick work.  This was a project very few companies are capable of completing, Pappas bros was excellent, they have a great staff, who are capable of doing a wide range of work and detailed work.  Our house is gorgeous, I would absolutely recommend them and use them again.  Nick is extremely knowledgeable and has a great sense of design, seriously a pleasure to work with.

The work took longer than we were told.  Had to tell the owner to have his workers cleanup and not to use my tools without my permission. Because of the dump truck leaving stains in our driveway, they were suppose to remove them but never did after they finished. I had to remind them to check  the area around the chimney roof to make sure water couldn't get through before working on the second floor bathroom. But they didn't.  Their electrician never came back to complete what he started. Months later the grout along our bathtub either cracked or came out due to the showering water. I asked them to cork around the tub but they said it wasn't really necessary.

Nick is a top notch contractor.  We have used Pappas Bros in the past.  Nick is always extremely helpful.  The job gets done on time and it gets done right.  We highly recommend.

I received a message from someone from your company asking me to be sure , certain without a doubt that I had the correct  company. Really!   This is my response, They say that time heals all wounds, "BUT NOT CROOKED FLOORS". I have all the paper work from this reno from h***. I was kind the first time considering it took me a year to write my review. So let me backtrack, since my original review is not acceptable to the Pappa's Bros. Home Improvement and ANGIES LIST. I didn't charge him the extra money I spent on the person who had to fix the walls. Stupid me, for letting them get away with that one. Also the cabinets were the wrong color and I kept them, stupid me again. As a matter of fact their distributer Kabinet King came to my house to apologize for the mixup and "promised" to "hook" me up, if I ever needed new cabinets. You want more, how about the granite guy, did not measure correctly, was chopping pieces of my wall to fit it in, did not set the sink correctly, the edges are not entirely even and he hadn't properly sealed the back 2pieces by the back of the stove. Wait theres more, all of the cabinets on one side are not leveled correctly,  you can see it visually by looking at the molding at the top of the cabinets. And the kitchen radiator can not be lifted because it was allowed to set on the grout after replacing one uneven tile.  I am thankful that I am creative enough that all of that is hidden by the decorative camouflage technique I learned from a decorating professional, and that was free of charge. I do hope that angles list does not ever contact me again regarding this fiasco. As a matter of fact I should receive a free years subscription from your company for even suggesting I relive this experience. If the Pappa's Bro.'s is suffering the ill effects of this , a year later, you know what they say; "karma is a b_ _ _ h !. BTW I have since flipped this property so I don't have to step into my kitchen and look at it everyday!

Nick Pappas is the general contractor for Pappas Brothers Home Improvement. We initially found Pappas Brothers on Angies List in January 2012 and were impressed by Nicks quality of work and professionalism.  When Superstorm Sandy destroyed our home only a few months after he completed the initial project we immediately contacted Nick. He predictably picked up the phone and we began the unexpected journey of a lifetime.  

 To say that my  husband and I were in anything other then a state of panic would be a lie.  My husband and I along with our six month old daughter and 3 year old son moved in with my parents while we began the long and tedious fight with our insurance company, the government red tape and the NY Rising Program.  Nick was supportive and familiar with the different  loan processes and the different options we were looking into to fund the project and move home. This was obviously an added bonus to us hiring him.  Like many others in our community of Long Beach, as well as other hit hard by the storm, we were shorted by our insurance and were struggling in figuring out what exactly the NY Rising Grant would really be able to do for us.  When our funds did not come in as planned and agreed upon in our contract with Pappas Brothers Nick never stopped working.  He showed extreme patience and understanding that you would not expect from a contractor.

 Nick made it  very clear from the start that his mission for his company is to provide excellent customer service and prides himself on the quality of work that is associated with any Pappas Brothers project.  He was very motivated to make my family happy and satisfied with the work he was doing. He behaved in a manner I consider to be above and beyond what is expected of a contractor.  There is not a time I can remember through this whole ordeal that I ever attempted to get a hold of Nick that he did not respond to a text or phone message with in minutes to at most an hour.  There was never three days of waiting and constantly calling to get a response like several of my friends reported about their contractors. He responded to any concerns quickly and professionally.. 

Nicks employees work hard and were extremely respectful and aware of the neighbors when they began working on the project.  I had numerous neighbors who commented on how fast and focused they appeared when working on building the frame of the home.

 My children who refer to him as "Nick The Builder" loved having Nick around.  I view Nick as a man with integrity, exceptional carpentry skills, an amazing work ethic, with a true love and excitement for what he does.  My husband and I have no doubt that based on our experiences with Pappas Brothers we will be customers for life.  

 We have and will continue to refer Nick Pappas of Pappas Brother Home Improvement to any one who is looking for a reasonably priced, skilled carpenter with integrity and a real internal motivation to do the job right.

Overall, I felt like this was more about the estimate he gave me for new windows and discussions about siding. I didn't get any receipt for the services performed and he spent very little time on the roof inspecting, etc. I thought for the money it would have been more thorough process.

They showed up on time very morning and the owners came out everyday and worked with the other employees.  They did a great job and I will continue to use them in the future.

The project turned out beautiful.They were efficient and meticoulis.We would use them again without hesitation._x000D_|

All went well, and the project went without a hitch. Contractor was punctual, professional, courteous, and open to suggestions. The same can be said of the crew.

I had three estimates and found owner Nick Pappas to be the most helpful explaining pros and cons of the options we had. He was patient, responsive to several calls and extremely reliable. His estimate was reasonable and actually included more work than the other 2 estimates. His crew were very professional and there was always a senior

From the first time we met Nick (the owner), we were impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He spent a great deal of time evaluating the project and explained in great detail everything that needed to be done in order to remedy the problems. Work began on schedule and proceeded without one problem. Each day the men began working as soon as they arrived and stopped only for their lunch break. They were courteous, a pleasure to have around our house, and cleaned up at the end of every day. Nick was on site every day of the two week project, which I appreciated as he was always available whenever I had questions.  On those occasions when I had a question, Nick stopped what he was doing and patiently answered it.  Finally, attention to detail and a sense of aesthetics were important to Nick, which we really appreciated. I would not even consider another contractor should we be in need of additional work in the future.

He refused to give me a receipt for my insurance company and he would not give me one because he was mad at me that I would not use him for further work. I would not recommend him. He was professional except for the receipt issue.

They have been excellent, very upfront, honest, easy to deal with. We had a very quick turn around when we met with them. We got other estimates from other companies. They had the best price and were very quick. Within a week of agreeing that we wanted them to do it, they started the project. The dumpster was here, trucks, equipment delivered, everything boom. I spoke to them on a Thursday, we finally met with them and finished it that Monday after that they started the job. There was no problem. They knocked it all out.

I used them two summers ago.  It was 2011.  I used them for minor repairs outside the house.  It was fine.  It was a little high priced.   The experience was fine for what it was and I would use their services going forward.

I contacted Pappas Brothers shortly after the hurricane hit.  Nick Pappas was super responsive. He came over to my house immediately to review the job and provide an estimate.  Nick took the time to discuss the job in detail - explaining what was required and why -- as well as outlining several options to consider.  Once all the approvals were set with the insurance company, Pappas scheduled the job immediately.  They were in and out in one day and did a fantastic job.  Overall:  great communication,customer service and quality.  I would definitely use them again as well as recommend to others.

They were very nice. They have very good service. Everything they bought that they needed for the job, they gave me the receipts and they showed that they were bought for the job because my name was printed on the sheet by the place they bought it from. They showed me all their expenses and what the labor charge was. They were honest. One of them had a dirty finger when they did a little bit of the recaulking of the top sink and there was a little darkness in one part of it. That is something that they probably did not even notice while doing it. They did an excellent job.

Nick was obtained from Angie's List where we had his company repair a leak in the bathroom of  my daughter's house.  The job was (in estimation) a fairly big job, as it required  walls to be ripped out, replacement of pipes and then to recreate the space.  He did the entire job (along with one of his plumbers) in a day and a half.  My daughter was thrilled and I was so impressed with the results, I asked him to look at my roof.   
The Roof Job - When I asked Nick (the owner of The Pappas Bros.) to give me an estimate to fix the roof.  He looked at the roof, and explained why I was having the leaks, and what was needed to prevent it from leaking in the future.  I was impressed by his professionalism and knowledge (compared to others who had done work for me in the past).  His price was reasonable, so I gave him the job.  The results was impressive; and, after a serious rain last night (with no leaks) I can honestly say the roof is repaired.
While others were putting tar down or performing a patch job; Nick ripped up the old rood and installed a new one.

Nick was one of three contractors asked for a bid he and another came in within hundreds of each other . Nick called back to see if we made a choice yet. He got the job because of that . When you hire Pappas you get Nick the owner on site doing work and constantly checking his guys . You also get his Dad the orginal Pappas and his 40 years experience. Always profesional and they even worked Sat and Sunday to get the job done. We left Nick and his team alone in our house without any worries We were not expecting to do the extra windows and replace rotted walls but Nick was paitent and calmed our fears. I always say a good contractor comes back even after he is paid . The one thing on our punch list was a light switch plate (Nick did not have one to match) He has called twice to come back and install it . I will have them back to do more work . I suggest if your looking for an honest , reliable , fairly priced contractor who does good work  call them .

The owner is Nick.  He came in and gave the estimate.  He was the most knowledgeable person.  He really wanted my business and followed through. I was really impressed by quality & hard work by the Tile guy. However, the plumber seemed impractical & initially did a sloppy job. Overall, they did a decent job.
