Artisan Grout Options

We needed someone to replace damaged tiles and to restore the grout in a nearly thirty year old kitchen floor. I found Artisan Grout Options on Angie's List and called the owner, Tom Nixon, for an estimate. He arrived promptly when scheduled and we knew immediately that Tom was the craftsman to use. He was polite and knowledgeable and provided all options to us. We made an appointment for him to do the work. He arrived right on time on a Saturday morning and proceeded to lay out his drop cloths to make certain that our floors and carpets were not damaged. He worked nearly non stop for the next nine hours. He took a fifteen minute lunch break only because my wife insisted! He consulted with me on a number of occasions to show me what he was doing. He even offered to repair some small nicks in a few tiles. The floor looks amazing--even better than when it was first installed. Tom has lived up to all of his positive reviews on Angie's List. I would recommend him to anyone who needed a real professional to do a great job.

He was very methodical – switching between kitchen and bath as needed. He took care around the carpet and furniture and declined my help with the cleanup. He worked right through - wouldn’t even take a break for lunch. A job well-done ! I would not hesitate to recommend Tom, and his company, Artisan Grout Options.

We made an appointment for an estimate Tom came on time and explained what needed to be done and gave us a fair price A week later he showed up on time and started the work . He was well prepared and very careful with his tools . He covered the areas in front of where the work was to be done with tarps He then re-grouted the tub area and started in repairing the tiles . He used a heater to dry the grout and then completed the grouting He cleaned everything up Tom was very professional and we could not be happier with the job

Went very well. The floor looks like new. I could not be happier. Mr. Nixon worked efficiently and very professionally. I can't stop telling people about my beautiful new floor. He even took the time to explain to me how to keep the floor clean and protect the grout from harsh chemicals. I had never sealed the grout and it was really bad.

This was one terrific experience. My wife had called Tom this morning and due to a cancellation, he was able to come over immediately. He discussed the nature of the repair and consulted with us along the way to make sure we were pleased with the colors of the grout and the sealant. The price he quoted was the price we paid. There were no surprises. Tom explained everything fully and made sure we understood what was to be done before he proceeded. His work was impeccable and our shower looks like new. There is no doubt that we would use Tom's services again in the future.

Tom was extremely good about communication. From my first call inquiring about service, to our discussion and later mutually agreed upon date move, to calling ahead on the day of service because he was going to arrive about 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment. Who does that these days? Sooooo refreshing! Tom was very neat, clean up great. His work was excellent. Everything looks great. Whenever he ran into a snag or surprise, he called me in to view it before proceeding. I can't say enough about him, and the quality of his work. I would absolutely use him again!

Tom Nixon arrived on time, and immediately went to work. I recently had my bathroom re-modeled. However, I chose a grout color which was too light. Tom Nixon was able to change the color of my floor grout. I was extremely impressed with Tom's professionalism and knowledge. My floor now looks completely different and it is beautiful. Mr. Nixon is knowledgeable, professional and punctual. He came on time and finished the job around the time he said he would. He is a wait but well WORTH IT. Before he did anything he would get my attention and tell me what he was going to do before he did it. I'm so happy with the results of my kitchen floor. it looks like a brand new floor. THANK YOU

Fantastic! Tom is punctual, professional and courteous. He came on time to give me an estimate and he arrived exactly on time to do the project which took about 4-5 hours. He removed all the grout and caulk and replaced them. My bathroom is almost 20 years old and the white tiles in the shower had become gray with calcium deposits. Tom was able to remove that as well. There was very little noise and dust. My shower enclosure looks brand new! Best of all, there are no more leaks! Tom left the bathroom so clean after the job, that my sister-in-law thought I had cleaned it. A job well-done... I would not hesitate to recommend Artisan Grout.

Called Tom Nixon to describe the scope of the project; at some later date, we will need to replace the tile floor (kitchen and hallway) but we want to restore as best we can for now, the existing tile floor to delay the replacement; he came the next day, assessed the work needed and evaluated possibilities; quoted a very reasonable price. We set a date for 10 days later. Showed up at exactly the promised time He had thought it would take 6-7 hours, but he spent almost 8 hours, and did a superb job: power-cleaned the floor, removed cracked grout; replaced where necessary; scrubbed all the existing grout; applied three coats of treatment and white stain to the now-clean grout; sealed it; and then a final comprehensive cleaning. As a favor to us, he attempted to minimize the appearance of some of the deep cracks and hairline cracks, very successfully; then applied a coating of caulking where the tiles meet cabinetry bases. Superb job! Very careful thoughout; perfect cleanup and care for the furniture and surrounding carpeting. He declined my offer to help with the cleanup and with putting his equipment back into his car. A gentleman, well-spoken, and very personable. Very easy to deal with, and totally responsive to all requests. Didn't even take a break for lunch! We wholeheartedly recommend him!!

I just bought a house that had a older 60's bathroom that was in desperate need of a re-grout...I mean the entire bathroom...all the walls...tile floor. This was a big job for anyone to complete!! I hired Tom Nixon since he had excellent reviews on Angies List...his estimate was reasonable...and he was professional. He arrived at my home at 8am...worked non stop...and finished at 8pm...This guy is one of the hardest working contractors I had in my home during my renovation! His work was nothing short of spectacular!!! I even had tiles that needed to be replaced..he was able to find the exact 60's tiles...and replace what was needed...his work was flawless. Just call Tom Nixon...you will not find anyone better!!! He is simply the best!!!!

Tom was pleasant, punctual and professional. He willingly came to give an estimate, even though it was a small job in an outdated bathroom, and showed up right on time on the day we scheduled for the work. He understood that we couldn't spend a bunch of money, but needed an honest fix. I would recommend him highly, and will use him again.

Tom was very knowledgeable . He showed up right on time and explained everything to me step by step. He did an excellent job in replacing one of my cracked hallway tiles. He then grouted and caulked it. He was very neat and professional. You would never know that that one tile was replaced. My tile floor looks new like it did 15 years ago. simply put, the entire floor was restored to its original condition (orig installation about 1990). The entire process, from free estimate to completion , went as smooth as silk. I was impressed with the attention paid to cleanliness throughout the entire job. My wife did not have to clean up at all after they finished, which is impressive for tile and grout work.

He resealed the grout with a colored grout. He was very good and friendly. He came in and finished the job in about 7 hours. He was very maticulate and made sure everything was up to my standards and he did a great job.

Tom came on a Wednesday to look over the situation and give me an honest evaluation of what he felt was the proper way to rectify my problem. He actually called me to let me know that he was going to be 5 minutes late to our appointment. Who does that today? He arrived, looked over the job and gave me 2 options for taking care of it. I was thinking of just having grout replaced where it was missing and having the tub and window re-corked. He explained to me the importance of having some of the tiles (especially around the window) re-cemented in, then re-grouted. He convinced me that it would be better to remove all the grout in the entire tub area and completely replace it. He comes across as being honest and sincere and it is very important to him that the job is done is correctly and to the customer's complete satisfaction. He was able to give me an appointment for 2 days later. Now , here is where I was a little nervous. He explained that he was really backed up with a lot of jobs, but he would send his man Corey to do the job just the way he described it to me. Well, I have to tell you Corey arrived on time, right to the minute. He introduced himself to me, looked over the bathroom and we went over what Tom had recommended be done. He started work immediately and continued working none stop (no breaks) for about 6 1/2 hours. I was expecting to see at least a little mess when the job was done, but there was none. He worked very hard and did a good job cleaning up. Now, the most important thing, Corey did a fabulous job. He is a pleasant person, hard working and very knowledgeable of the work he does. Tom had complete confidence in Corey and I definitely saw why, first hand. They will not take the job if they don't think that they can do it. Artisan Grout Options is the real deal!

I would highly recommend Tom. Our bathroom looks brand new! Tom was very neat and even removed his shoes at the door. This was my first time using Angie's List, and happy I did. All reviews I read for Tom were outstanding, and they were well deserved. He is a very nice guy. He did a beautiful job!

Tom and Cory arrived at 7:00AM as scheduled and worked non-stop until 3:30PM. They did not even stop for a lunch break. Tom did accept a grilled cheese sandwich, Cory nothing. I can not recommend them more highly. They are both very hard workers and my bathrooms both look fabulous!

Tom is a treasure! I had read such glowing reviews on Angie's List that I had to call him for an estimate. He came right away and evaluated the situation and gave me a price that was lower than I expected. I accepted right away and boy, am I glad that I did! Tom arrived exactly on time, brought in his equipment, put down coverings to protect the hallway carpet and went to work. I have a very small bathroom and there was zero room available for him to put his tools in the bathroom. He worked diligently for a little more than 3 hours and when he finished I was amazed. "Is that MY bathroom?" I asked. He said that he had dashed out and brought in a new one and you could almost believe him. All of the grout had been freshened and the ugly gaps ere gone and it was sparkling! I have had providers who were miserable failures at cleaning up after themselves, but when Tom left, the bathroom was actually cleaner than it had been when he arrived. He absolutely deserves all of the glowing reviews that he gets! If you have work, you should contact him right away because he is understandably a very busy man and I would imagine that he'll have a long waiting list if he doesn't have one already. Not only is Tom a credit to his profession, he is very personable and easy to work with. When he gave me the invoice he told me how to clean the grouted areas and wrote it down on the invoice and he told me how long I should wait before using the tub area. Tom is one of the best (if not THE best) tradesmen that I have had to the house and there has been quite a long line of them coming here to get a 55-yeat-old house back in shape after it had been neglected for about 20 years.

Tom was attentive to my concerns, he works efficiently and neatly . When the job was complete I was more than satisfied. Tom was meticulous in matching the colors to the original ground. The job was outstanding, I would recommend him, I would use him again if need be.

Tom showed up on schedule and got right to work. He laid large cloths in the area were he put all his tools and even took off his shoes. He worked straight through without taking breaks and was finished in about 6 hrs. Toms work is excellent the bathroom looks brand new, I would highly recommend Tom to friends , family and subscribers of Angies list.
