Roadway Moving

I moved from Brooklyn to Manhattan and I was told that the price would be 1,500.00. I agreed to that price. There was three men with a U-Haul truck that came to my house. Things were going great until I was charged an additional 350.00 dollars. I agreed to pay that although that was not what was quoted. I met the men at the Manhattan address and they began to take my belongings upstairs. They took most of my belongings off the truck while I waited upstairs. When I unpacked my clothes and other items, I found that I was missing clothes, shoes, and boots. Like I said there was three men. Two were young adults in their twenties. The third guy was older. All three were caucasian. I had given the older guy the 1,500.00 plus the additional 350.00. I will remember this experience as long as I live. I would never, ever use or recommend Roadway Moving to anyone ever. Roadway movers stole my belongings. They get no Stars from me and that crew who moved me from Brooklyn Flatbush Ave to Manhattan should be fired.

I couldn’t have done it without roadway movers! I’ve used them 7 times over the years and they are the best! Punctual, professional, reliable, CAREFUL, and respectful of our belongings. They are the best and i won’t use any other mover again! The entire experience was stress free!

Roadway Movers have damaged a custom made mahogany table( original cost many years ago was $35,000). It was in perfect condition. We purchased the full value protection in the amount of $10,000. We believed that this would cover any damages caused by the mover during the move. We have now come to realize that this money is charged by the movers and they never have any intention of ever paying the full value for anything that is damaged. We made an immediate claim with the company. Placing the value of the dining room table at $35,000. We were told that we were not permitted to put that value on the claim form but to put only the amount of the full value protection of $10,000. Now we have found out that the company has no interest in paying even a fraction of the money to compensate us for the loss of this table. After several weeks they sent out somebody to repair the table. They reported to the company that the table was unrepairable. Do not use this moving company. They will never pay a claim and we are now left with a broken table and literally no compensation for our loss. Don’t bother to buy the full value protection, it is only a company‘s way of taking more money from the consumer. Beware!

Roadway Moving is by far the best moving company in the 5 boroughs. I have worked with them multiple times and they never disappoint. From the moment I inquired with their management team, I was greeted with a positive and educated team who was able to assist me and help me decide which type of move was best for me based on all of the items I needed move. It was so easy to schedule the move and they helped every step along the way. Once we got to moving day, the team was on time (if not a few minutes early!!) and had all of the necessary packing equipment. They were positive, hardworking, and FAST! They took great care of all of my items. Thank you Roadway!!

Have you heard stories of a psycho hormonal #prego lady moving? Well, that was NOT me! Miguel Rivera and his team handled my every request and solved every hint of a problem before I could formulate a full sentence explaining it. They were so sweet with my 3 year old daughter, she felt like a star the whole day. Roadway conducted a walk-through appointment via Zoom beforehand, and after the sales person took a note of everything we’re moving, I was given a guaranteed quote that doesn’t change regardless of the time the move would take. I loved not feeling rushed. The guys worked very efficiently but also took extra care of all of our stuff. Our “new” apartment is actually located in an old pre-war building with no elevator. All of our furniture and boxes had to be brought up 3 flights of stairs. The “highlight” was the couch not fitting through the apartment door at which point Miguel took the door off instead of unwrapping the couch which would most likely damage it. 2 doors and a few tight turns later, the couch stood intact in the room of my choosing. After which my husband ran to the ATM because the suggested tip amount that we prepared didn’t seem sufficient to express our gratitude. I highly recommend Roadway to everyone who wants the least stressful move.

I was moving cross-country form NYC to California, so hired Roadway for the move. After an initial quote and consultation, I was told to move out of my apartment in New York a week early, so that my things would arrive at the beginning of the ship window in California. The first sign that things were off, was when the movers arrived and told me that I would have to pay an additional $1000 from the quote that they provided to me (based on their own virtual tour and inventory of items). I had to go back and forth with them and finally agreed to pay $450 additional. All of that would have been fine, but here is when it went from a bad experience to the worst experience I have ever had. After sleeping on an air mattress in NYC for an extra week and unable to get an update on the status of my goods arrival in California, I came to find out that my stuff was still in New York and had not even left yet. The arrival date I was given was over a week after I arrived in California. I told them that I would have to get a hotel room for an entire week now and that I had slept on an air mattress for a week in NYC for no reason. Not only that, but I had to pay an additional $450 to do so. The customer service representative that I spoke with, Carlos, did absolutely nothing to ease my concerns and simply regurgitated lines about the delivery window being two weeks and could not seem to understand that I was told to move out a week early. If I wanted to simply take the ship window, I would have moved out of NYC at the last possible moment. After everything finally did arrive at my new residence, there were multiple boxes of broken china and boxes marked "Fragile" that were clearly stacked below multiple other heavy boxes. After all of this, both Carlos and another customer service representative said that they were going to call me back with a plan to make this "right". However, now almost two weeks later, I have not heard anything back from them. Things happen on a long cross-country move, so any one of these issues would be understandable, but it is Roadway's true disregard for their customer's concerns that will make me tell anyone that I ever speak with again about moving not to use them.

They got me the estimate right away and were very responsive. Pricing was on the higher end with them.

I'm happy I trust the @roadwaymoving team for making my moving process from Nyc to LA so smooth, especially during Covid. They did it respecting the propers safety precautions & all my belongings arrived here. Now I can unpack & really start settling into my new LA apt.

I highly recommend Roadway Moving. They were professional and highly communicative throughout the whole moving process from booking to moving day. Everyone wore their masks the entire time. They moved quickly, but carefully. It was a stress free experience!

Amazingly seamless. The entire team from their on call representatives to the drivers to the movers - were all so very professional and kind. I was very concerned about moving during a pandemic however Roadway made me feel safe and their team kept their distance, wore correct masks/gloves, and really made me feel at ease. I would highly recommend them to anyone I know needing to do a big move w a lot of valuables.

Roadway Moving did an AMAZING job with my move. I was a little nervous about moving during a pandemic, but their team took all the covid precautions and were quick, professional, and took care of all my fragile boxes and furniture. I moved with Roadway in 2019 and I used them again because they were so good. The team is very organized in how they assessed my furniture and belongings so they knew how to load and unload the boxes and furniture in a way that wouldn't make it difficult for me to unpack especially in such a tight space like my studio apartment. The whole process felt very safe and secure. The team wore masks and were all very friendly and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend them for your move!

Great! I've moved more times than I'd like to count and my move with Roadway was by far the easiest and smoothest. They were kind and efficient and fast and stress free. I'm hoping not to move again, but if I do it will 100% be booked with Roadway.

They made moving an absolute breeze! Fast, friendly and safe - it was seriously the easiest move ever. They were on time and handled my items with the utmost care - nothing damaged, they wrapped and blanketed and boxed everything - even my plants made it without a leaf out of place! We didn’t even lift a finger...to the point that we made it to our new place, everything unpacked, (they also assembled the bed!) and organized...we were able to catch the sunset for a cocktail on the roof! We were pretty concerned about moving during a pandemic but they completely alleviated our fears. They wore masks and gloves the entire time, and kept socially distant. And they were the nicest guys! We will definitely be using Roadway again. I can clearly see why they’re the top movers in New York City!

Our experience with Roadway was amazing--and it was the second time we used them and didn't lift a finger either time. I was (and am currently) pregnant both times we moved and it was so stress-free, I can't even begin to tell you how grateful we were to work with them and have them move us. I'd hire them 1,000 times over and over again! They were so reliable (they arrived early!) efficient, careful when packing up our items, and worked so hard throughout the day to get us into our new home safely. We love Roadway and always suggest them when anyone asks who to use to move!

For our second move with Roadway Moving, we couldn't have been happier- George, Jamal and Kevin were AMAZING from start to finish. It was pouring raining and they were so careful to protect each piece of our furniture and wear booties on the new floors in the house. They built up each piece of furniture seamlessly and were so efficient in helping to take away excess garbage. We felt so comfortable with them and so appreciated all their help. A few friends have used Roadway since and have also had the best experiences.

Roadway moving has provided me with an excellent service. They were friendly, Covid cautious, on time, fast, efficient. They are problem solvers and went above and beyond to satisfy our needs. I would totally hire them again.

I cannot recommend this company enough!! Efficient and professional from start to finish. We opted for the packing and unpacking service and it was the best money we have ever spent (we have two little ones!). They packed up our apartment in less than 4 hours. Everything was moved without error and they also wore masks the entire time for safety. HIGHLY recommend!

Our movers were so professional and made the entire process way less stressful; they even helped us pack some of our last minute items (probably better than we would ourselves.) Roadway moving is the absolute best! I have now used Roadway Moving three times for three major moves, the most recent being my biggest move to date leaving NYC (in the midst of a pandemic!) and moving to Texas. Each time I have worked with Roadway their team of men have been extraordinary, incredibly professional, efficient and friendly. They have taken some of the most stressful days of my life and made them easier - these guys are genuinely wonderful people who are there to help take the stress out of moving. Their efficiency is unbelievable, they packed my entire one bedroom apartment and loaded it in under 3 hours - that is absolutely incredible. Not to mention they hand wrapped all of my breakable items to ensure their safety (and yes they arrived with all of the materials to pack me up!) and labled my boxes so that I could easily access what was a "priority" when they arrived at my new home in Texas. I've said it now for over two years and will continue to say it, these guys are the best and the Roadway Moving team does incredible work.

One of the best experiences I have ever had with a move , roadway guys went above and beyond , wrapping and boxing all of my furniture labeling everything and making this move so easy and stress free. Upon delivery they had a check list for me with all of my boxes and furniture to make sure nothing was loss . They helped me unpack and build all furniture. These guys also had mask and took all appropriate precautions to ensure the safest move .

We had an excellent experience with Roadway Moving, this is our second time using their service and I continue to recommend to friends. Our first move was a local move but this time we went from NY-CA and we are so impressed with how professional and organized the movers were. They arrived on time for the pack up and loading of the truck as well as for the arrival of the boxes once they made it to California. Everything was perfectly in tact and packaged nicely with care. All boxes were new and numbered so we could easily take stock to ensure all boxes arrived! We were hesitant to undertake this move due to COVID19, however Roadway made us feel much more comfortable about bringing a moving team into our home and new home. All of the movers were wearing masks and gloves and kept social distance between us. Would definitely use them again!
