Best home improvement experience ever. Professional with great taste and craftsmanship. Planning to use him again to paint our house out East in the future.

If one were to give four stars for a job well done, Steve deserves five for a project done exceedingly well. This difficult paint job of a duplex apartment in a landmarked townhouse, including stairwell, went tirelessly and smoothly over several days. The work, complicated by the moving of furniture, paintings and bookcases - over and above what the definition of a painter's job should be - was done with patience and expertise, far beyond the call of duty. All work was done in the time frame agreed upon, and was done beautifully. Steve, honorable and conscientious, is the best, and I recommend him wholeheartedly.

After reviewing many estimates, I decided to go with Steven Bakur.His work was impeccable and done in a timely manner.Steven managed to give back the beauty & shine to all the problematic areas in my apt,with knowledgable plastering work and with a very clean paint job. I would definitely use him again in the near future.

He was meticulous and conscientious about personal property, and was clearly knowledgeable about the products we requested and technique. Steven is responsive, reliable, trustworthy (working in your home on his own), does great work and is fairly priced. When I needed my condo loft painted in mid-town Manhattan recently a business colleague who I'd known and trusted recommended Steven Bakur. I knew that this colleague was very particular and even a bit fussy like I am so after interviewing a number of other painters I made an appointment with Mr. Bakur and decided to hire him. Steven did an outstanding job; he was extremely neat and respectful of my home and belongings, arrived on time and finished each day when he said he would, having accomplished his daily goals,. He proved trustworthy enough that I left him alone in the apartment, and always presented himself with pride. I was delighted with the results and have recommended him to friends and family as I would to anyone looking for an excellent painter.

He did a very quick and neat job. He is very reasonably priced.

I had originally called another painter from Angie's list, but he was booked up and so referred me to someone he had worked with before who would be available sooner. I was very uneasy about hiring someone on the word of only one person, especially without being able to see the person's work. I needn't have been. Steven called me back immediately and showed up the next day to provide me with an estimate. Because I was on a very tight budget, I was thrilled that he was able to break down the pricing for me a la carte, which enabled me to select what was most important to me, and leave other areas for later. I hired him to paint the ceilings, walls, and trim of my living room, bedroom, foyer and kitchen, omitting the insides of the closets, as well as omitting my two bathrooms, which would require extensive wallpaper removal and patching. Steven took the time to meet me at the paint store, so that I could purchase my paint using his discount there. He provided some of the materials and I provided others. He was able to make it very clear exactly what I would need and how many gallons of paint so that I could estimate my cost appropriately, and he was right on target. The walls were in very good condion, but the ceiling was a real problem. Many of the people in my building have had severe problems with the popcorn ceilings buckling, ripping and coming down upon painting. Steven was not only able to paint very carefully to minimize the damage, but was able to fix any spots that needed repair through careful patching and hand brushing. I should also mention that although I had already picked out my colors, he was able to make suggestions on the trim and color combinations. His advice caused me to change one of the colors I was going to paint the trim and he was right. Overall, I am enjoying my freshly painted apartment and am very happy with the work that was done. In fact, I am planning to have him come back to do my master bathroom and then my closets as my budget allows and am grateful that he is willing to take on a smaller job. Some of the painters I had contacted prior to hiring Steven would not do less than an entire apartment at one time and I would not have been able to do that.
