High marks for following through and meeting their commitment and doing great work. I had an Almstead arborist review the property and provide recommendations on some dead limbs and trees. We came to an agreement. When the crew came, the arborist wasn't there (later found out she'd left and moved north). As far as I could tell, the crew didn't have the instructions we'd agreed on and they did some, not all of the work. What followed was back and forth, but after a few months they sent out the crew to remedy the missing work. They did a great job and I was very glad. I appreciate the office staying on it and making it right. I've used them for 24 years and happily look forward to continuing to use them. It's a lot to trust your trees to someone!

The only area that Almstead could improve is in the timeliness of communication especially before the job was quoted and scheduled. The work itself was completed in an excellent, professional manner!

Loved the trees Almstead planted! The came at the precise time expected, wearing PPE to work the job and got right to work. The result is 11 beautiful arborvitaes that look amazing! I will be using them again next year when I finish the backyard with new plantings. What a great experience from booking to result!

Almstead came to trim one very large and three smaller trees in the small yard behind our Brooklyn brownstone. I was extremely impressed by how they scaled the large tree to cut huge branches and lower them down carefully so that they didn't fall into the neighbors yards. They removed all the branches and cleaned up any remaining debris. They were quick, efficient and very professional. I would highly recommend them.

They were a good company but the downside was it took a few weeks from the date they came out and gave the proposal to the day they did the work. they were complaining about cars being parked on the street when they have the truck with the boom arm. They also ended up tacking on an extra hour of man time because of the cars parked on the street.

Needed extra clean up of the sawdust that way left in backyard Grass that would have helped. But other then that they did a great job....

The team effort was very professional And very pleasant to deal with. They really Enhanced my property with their expertise. My trees, shrubs are thriving.

Everyone we deal with at Almstead, from the owner to the office staff to the crew, is very knowledgeable and courteous, qualities we found lacking in other companies. We highly recommend Almstead!

The expertise and level of service is unlike any tree service I've ever used. We had a large, complex job taking down 3 huge decaying trees in a tight space. They brought in a massive crane and removed all three in less than 6 hours. Cut and stacked the good wood into 30 splittable oak logs leaving over a cord of firewood. Then went around the property trimming any other trees limbs that were unsafe. And they Almstead was the cheapest of 4 bids.

I've worked with this family owned business for over 12 years. They are the best - smart, reliable, careful and reasonably priced.

Communication was slow. I never met anyone after I described what I needed done over the phone. I came outside going to work, and men were trimming my trees. I did not know they were coming and all I got was a bill. Weird!

Horrible service. They had no idea what to do when the crew arrived and this is after I spent my time with the supervisor prior to their arrival and he explained what they were going to do etc. They also charged a ridiculous price to cut a few branches from one of the trees. Another problem is that they did not bring the equipment to perform a job to install a tree support sling that was scheduled to be done. They also did not have the decency to ever contact me to arrange to finish the job and kept me hanging. DO yourself a favor do not hire these people.

Almstead did an outstanding job. Nick the arborist I worked with was a pleasure and was very knowledgeable and patient. He asked me questions at the outset about what I wanted done and how I visualized the finished job. He gave me lots of choices and I selected the ones I wanted. I received an estimate and time frame and the job was completed on time and on budget. To clarify we were replacing all the foundation plantings. My family and I are So pleased and highly recommend Nick and Almstead.
