they arrived on time, very professional about what they do and most importantly, they solved my problem!! cleaned my boiler real nice and NO MORE BANGING pipes in my house!! I have had bad experiences dealing with 3 different plumbing companies in the past 6 months and none of those companies could solve my banging problem until this one.. Highly recommended and would definitely use them again!!!

Big Apple Plumbing is a family owned business and it shows in their professional courtesy and attention to detail. Their service is absolutely exceptional! Carol worked with me on scheduling and Ken Jr corresponded with me as well and performed the actual work. Ken Jr. and his crew arrived at the exact time they promised for a water heater/boiler replacement. Ken Jr. was on-site the entire time, not merely overseeing his crew but doing much of the work himself. He's very knowledgeable and knows his trade incredibly well. I haven't actually had the chance to try out the new equipment yet but so far, I am very pleased with the work that they did. I should also add that my situation was fairly unusual. I scheduled the plumbing work in the midst of an ongoing home remodel. My remodel project is being managed from the West Coast and that led to many delays in scheduling on my end as well as some other issues. Big Apple Plumbing was very patient and understanding of my circumstances. They were incredibly accommodating and worked with me every step of the way to make sure the job got done. I would recommend them without hesitation and plan to call them for all of my future plumbing needs!

Although there was some issues with getting Big Apple to call and arrange for a time to check out the issue .However,when I called the office and spoke to Carol and told her how imperative it was for a crew to go out to my parents home,she assured me she'd get on it.With the upcoming storm and the holiday coming I needed my elderly parents to not be nervous or concerned about their heating .By 430 pm a crew were at my parents's house .Both my parents couldn't say enough about their professionalism and courtesy.They have some other plumbing issues in their home and are definitely calling Bug Apple Plumbing!

Called and left a clear message -- no response for a week. Called again today and started to set up an appointment, but was then told that since my co-op has 110 units that they will not work there. Apparently they only work in homes or small buildings. Since the majority of buildings in the Big Apple are big, I find it ironic that Big Apple Plumbing only works in small dwellings. Maybe change the name to Small Apples Only in the Big Apple Plumbing.

After multiple calls, messages and emails, I was never contacted to schedule service.

I contacted Big Apple Plumbing and Heating Corp for an estimate to improve my radiator heating system. I was contacted by the next day and set up an appointment. The plumber and his assistant arrived exactly on schedule. Ken reviewed the entire heating system and made recommendations. He was extremely knowledgable and was not at all pushy or was not trying to "sell" me services that I didn't need. I will take the advice that he gave me and definitely call them back if needed in the future. I appreciate their honesty and straight forwardness. I would strongly recommend their company to anyone needing plumbing services.

First of all, I selected Big Apple based on their Angie's List ratings, and I was not disappointed. Ken, Jr. and his crew arrived on time and they did exactly what needed to be done!! I had a slow kitchen drain--water would rise into the sink-- and it was effecting my dishwasher with backup water. I reported it to my building's super in late May and he said my sink was draining properly. He told me to contact the appliance company. I paid a lot of money for PC Richards to come (since I was no longer under warranty) and tell me my drain needed to be snaked. When I reported this to my super, he had the building's plumber check it too who also thought my slow drain was "normal" and didn't need to be snaked. This made no sense to me because I know having a sink fill up with water every time I washed one dish was not normal. The problem was getting worse until my sink finally backed up and wouldn't drain. This time I wanted a 3rd opinion, and called Big Apple. They came the next day. Guess what? My drain did need a good snaking and I also got a new drain pipe (which I already knew I needed). They worked efficiently and even cleaned up the bottom cabinet and replaced everything that was there. Now my kitchen drains properly. We even checked the dishwasher and no problem with backup!! I even got a 5% discount because I am an Angie's List member. I would definitely recommend this company.

It was a tougher problem than first thought, but they handled it quickly and perfectly. Totally professional. Problem solved!

They loosened and moved some pipes to get access, then snaked out pipes. Checked the other side of basement. Pleasant efficient.

I signed up for an Angie's List account with the sole intention of finding a reputable plumber. After today's experience, I will say that AL is 1 for 1. In the four years our business has been open, we've had our share of plumbing issues. As a bar, alcohol plays a factor in the frequency with which our toilets and sinks require service. We've had experiences, namely with Roto-Rooter, as well as a couple other "name brand" companies. I've always been surprised at how ill-informed and generally burned-out the plumbers these places send to us are. By the end of the job, we find ourselves just happy that the problem is not as bad as it was before they arrived, but the work is never all that satisfactory and the pricing is insane. Initial quotes are always increased over the course of the job, "problems" are always encountered along the way that end up inflating the bill even further. Calls to the company always end up in the hands of someone completely unfamiliar with your job and the run-arounds are endless. If any of this sounds familiar to you, and you just need a quality job done at a reasonable price, I completely recommend calling Big Apple Plumbing. When sink and toilet issues reared their head this time, I called and left a message describing my situation. I got a call back right away and had a plumber come out the next morning. The guys who arrived came off as knowledgable and capable. They quoted me a fair price and I agreed to the work. Since it was a Friday, they told me they'd be unable to do the job until the following week, possibly Wednesday or Thursday. Since it wasn't emergency work, it was no problem. I received a call Monday saying they could come out right away and complete the job. Three hours later, everything was done. Aside from the high quality job, there were lots of little things done along the way to make our lives easier - cardboard was laid out to protect the floor, the old equipment was removed for us (not at all a given with most plumbers). They even sealed a different sink that was not part of their job with silicone at no extra charge. The woman who I spoke with on the phone was friendly and helpful, the crew that came out for the job was great, the price I was quoted to start was exactly what I paid in the end. This was nothing but a great experience. This is the only plumbing company we will call from now on. Thanks guys!

Ken Jr. and his crew did a great job on my boiler/hot water heater replacement. The whole job took about a day and a half, and everything is working beautifully. I could not be there for the second day, so he offered a telephone consultation to go over how the new system works. He's very knowledgeable and knows his trade well. I'm very pleased with the work that they did.

We called them last year, when they came they said a lot of work needed to be done. But they would only do the work to pass the inspection. They charged me $1000. They completed the boiler inspection, but said they would have to complete the rest when they come back. They never came back to finish. We had to call them again this year because we are on a deadline for an inspection and things still need to be updated. I figured it would be good for them to work on what they started last year. I tried calling for a month. I left messages and even when speaking with a representative there was excuse after excuse. We finally had an appointment scheduled and the day of, I called to verify they were on their way and the voice mail said they were on vacation. I have left a message with them stating I was not happy that they have not been responding and missed an appointment they scheduled.

The price was right and they came on time and they did the job! I don't have to go crazy trying to find someone to do the job!

We had a leak from an unknown pipe to us at the time which was causing water damage to our belongings. From the time I called Big Apple Plumbing to their response the very next morning it was a pleasure. The woman on the phone tried to get someone out to me the same day but I called late afternoon and their schedule was already involved. She promised someone would be out to us next morning between 7-9 and they showed up promptly. They explained what was causing the leak made recommendations and with our approval started the job right away. They were extremely courteous and professional. We will definitely use them again!

STARTED BY CALLING PROVIDER AND TALKED TO PHONE RECEPTIONIST WHO SOUNDED SO NICE I FELT RIGHT AWAY I WAS AT THE RIGHT PLACE. SHE LISTENED TO MY PROBLEM AND SET ME UP FOR THE AFTERNOON. TWO MEN ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE AT THE PROMISED TIME AND HONESTLY TAUGHT THAT MY CLOGGED BATHTUB WOULD BE A COMPLICATED PROBLEM, BUT TO MY SURPRISE UNCLOGGED IN NO TIME. ONE OF THE MEN THEN WENT UPSTAIRS TO CHECK MY TENANTS BATHTUB WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEM. THEY FURTHER CLEANED UP MY FILTHY BATHTUB FROM THE BACKED UP WATER AND I WAS SO HAPPY I GAVE THEM A TIP.I RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

They arrived promptly to give an estimate for the job. Their estimate was much lower than we had received from another plumber, and they offered to complete the job that day. The job was completed quickly and their work was great. They went out of their way to keep the room and the entry to the house clean (which was difficult, since the old hot water radiators were filled with dirty water).

When you hire Big Apple Plumbing, the work is done by Ken Jr., the owner and a third-generation licensed plumber who also happens to be a mechanical engineer. His keen understanding of the underlying science, his ability to analyze and troubleshoot, his professionalism, his work ethic – plus the quality of both customer service and staff – place Big Apple Plumbing head and shoulders above the competition.

It cost probably between $600 and $800. They were very clean and very punctual. They told me exactly what had to be done, called back and made sure that the work was done to my satisfaction. They returned and I do not think that they charged me for the return. I know that they had to come back a few times and they were really good about making sure that everything was taken care of. I had nothing to compare their price to but I did some research and it seemed reasonable. They were really outstanding and I would definitely use them again. We will be using them on a regular basis for maintenance.

The price was high. It is a family business and I talked to the father.

Scheduled on a Friday for the next Monday morning for the estimate. I asked them to come to my home after I've dropped my son off at school and returned to my home but to come as early as possible so I can go to work promptly thereafter. I got a confirmation call from the secretary while I was dropping off my son that Ken was on his way. But he was a NO SHOW. I called twice during my wasted morning, the phone going straight the voicemail and the second time around spoke to someone who clearly had no customer service skills. They were unapologetic for not showing up and sucking up my time. I wanted to use a Queens-based plumbing company as I live in Queens but obviously there's much more companies out there from which to choose that care about their customers, even if they are just prospective.

. Removing the old 50 year old fawcet was difficult but Ken the boss I think, was up to the task. It took a little longer than usual to complete the removal. There were 2 people on the job and everything was extremely professional. Installing the new fawcet went smoothly. He had the knowledge and tools to complete everything to perfection including total clean up of debris. . There was a problem clearing the sink clog and it had to be done more than once. It did not phase them. They kept at it until the clog was gone. Big Apple is on my number one list to call for any plumbing work. Would recommend them to anyone needing plumbing services,

Changed my mind about job decided to keep boiler for more years

They were courteous and professional. They worked with Con Ed and filed the permits. They removed the oil tank and old equipment on the first day and installed the new equipment and hooked everything up on the second day, and came a week later to do the inspection.
