D and S is not consistent in services. My dog was left out in the hall after the cleaning. This husband and wife team will side with each other before apologizing to clients. This company refuses to apologize and own leaving my dog in the hall, locked out of my apartment. If you don't care if your cleaning company checks to see if your dog is inside his or her own apartment, leaves and locks the door, then this is the company for you. And I would not be posting this at all if I had gotten an apology for that mistake. I offered to retract this report if they were willing to apologize. As you can see by the response they are not apologizing and instead blaming me for their wrongdoing. They left at 11ish am. I work in NYC, living in Rockland, and luckily it was a snow day and my neighbor who is a teacher was home. She found my dog and called my landlord, luckily also home, at 12:30pm my dog was put back in my apartment. My dog is diabetic and needs water and food. If he had been there until my dog walker came at 2pm or if the mailman had come and my dog had bolted, things could have turned out badly. Good fortune prevented this, not D and S and would not assume any responsibility for this or apologize. My first experience with D and S Cleaning was wonderful. Wood floors cleaned with Murphy's, everything s*** and span, with wonderful scented smells. My second experience less than good. Floor was not mopped. Vaccum cleaner emptied in the yard. And a general rush job. Called and D and S, Mr. Collazo apologized and gave me a discount for a third cleaning. Third, better with the discount. 4th on December 28, 2010. Mrs. Collazo and an assistant arrived at 9am and I was getting ready for work. They forgot the mop. And seemed rushed. I advised how important to leave the dog and gave some instructions. I have a small one bedroom apartment. Not a big house. I have lived here for over 5 years and not once by mistake have I left my dog outside of my apartment. There is no one to enter the apartment and let him out. On this day the only people in my apartment was D and S cleaning. My dog is diabetic, needing water and food all day. It was 11am when they left and there is no doubt in my mind that someone from D and S left the door open and my dog got out and was in the hall, maybe upstairs, there are 3 apartments. My neighbor found my dog at 11:45am and brought him into her apartment. She has no key to my apartment. Nobody has the key except the landlord. She found the landlord and at about 12:30pm my dog was back in his apartment, probably stressed. When I called to complain as I was very upset about my dog being locked outside of my apartment. There was no apology, Steve took up for his wife, who cleaned the apartment and was convinced that she saw the dog in my apartment as she left. Truly, no way my dog could have been left out except for her and her assistant. And when I stated a mistrust but conveyed that I was not wanting to part ways, probably just wanted an apology and ownership of the action of leaving my dog outside. I was told that they were stopping services, sending my key back and conveyed that many things can happen where a dog is left outside. I honestly felt that Steven Collazo took sides with his wife who obviously made an error in a very small apartment, not making sure my dog was inside his home, with water and food. He not only did not apologize, he insinuated that there were ways beyond his wife and her assistant that the dog could have escaped. Not sure how this could happen. As I said, I go to work 5 days a week, commuting into the city from Rockland, and this has never happened before. Things happen. And accidents happen. But as a customer with a valid complaint and issue, one wants respect and not to be blamed for their error. The fact is that if this was not a husband and wife team, my guess is the employee would have been talked to and an apology would have been forthcoming to the customer. Just a forewarning of how I was treated and how my dog was not cared for in the best way. An addendum, Mr. Collazo contacted this customer and wanted to know how come I wrote what I wrote. I once again said that I was not an overall unhappy customer. My main gripe is that D and S are minimizing a problem, leaving my dog outside, that I find to be irresponsible and could have been catastrophic, and it turned out well, but no thanks to them and I expected an apology and still do. D and S are still refusing to take responsibility and apologize. And personally this is not how I would like to conduct business with any professional company.
