I had no problem with the sale or initial installation which was done in August, 2011. However this past summer, I suddenly noticed that the carpeting had begun to buckle on one side of the room. There were four noticeable waves. I went to the store to report the problem and to arrange to have the carpeting re-stretched. I spoke to the owner's son about the problem, and he told me that he would have to charge me $150 for the repair. I suggested that there should be no charge as they obviously had not installed the carpeting correctly. The son suggested that I must have done something wrong and asked me if I had moved furniture around. I told him I had not moved any furniture since the carpet had been installed. He said that this had never happened before and I must be at fault. He then went downstairs to speak to his father and returned to tell me that his father insisted I would have to pay the $150 repair fee. I reluctantly agreed. The father arrived with two workers who stretched the carpeting to remove the buckling. The father asked me, "How are you?" I told him I was not happy that he did not stand by the quality of his work. He said, "Well this happens." I told him that the old carpet had lasted over 25 years without buckling. I then told him that his son had told me that this had never happened before and I was at fault. He then said, "Yes. This has never happened before." I gave him a check for $150 and told him that if and when he cashed it, I would write this incident up on Angie's List. He then suggested that since I wasn't happy, he would not cash the check. "I'll hang it up on my wall," he said sarcastically. I told him it was his call, and if he cashed it we would see who the public agrees with regarding this dispute. The repair was made on October 7th. The check was cashed on October 9th.

I really can't say too much about this company other than the facts. We hired them to do tiled flooring installation for us. I will not comment on the price. They did the work. It was bad. They tried to charge us for them to repair the unsatisfactory work. We went to court. They fixed it free of charge. It was still unsatisfactory. It is currently still wrong to this day.
Description of Work: Union installed tiled flooring in two rooms within my 2300 square foot home.
