Ken's Drywall and Repairs

The work needed to be completed in a short amount of time because we had other work scheduled. He was prompt and completed the work in time for us to continue with our kitchen remodel even thought it was during a Holiday. Thank you Ken.

Ken was a super find. Minutes after clicking on the telephone button on the web site he called. We had already had 3 other drywall handymen give us estimates, but were leery of all. Ken gave us a very fair estimate replacing the old wood paneling in our family room with drywall which included smoothing a "popcorn" ceiling (hand scraped, then mudded). He worked very quickly to put up the drywall sheets. His mudding of the seams is excellent and looked like it required very, very little sanding. Though we trusted him from the moment we met him, Ken still exceeded our expectations. The ceiling looks like it was replaced with new drywall! He is a pleasure to work with and very dependable, and his work is superb. Highly recommended and we will use him again, as long as he is in the business.

First of all Ken showed up on time to the job. Off to a good start. Then the Job I had Ken do was, I have a closet that I needed part of a wall taken down to extend the closet. After the work was done it looked like it was always supposed to be that way. The finish on the drywall was perfect. It looked Awesome. Also Ken came in under his original quote he had given me. It doesn't get any better than that. Thank You for doing a super job Ken.

Ken is a master at putting up drywall. I would highly recommend him. The ceiling that he did in my kitchen looks fabulous. He also shared lots of tips about painting and drywall. Ken is a master and I agree with what another reviewer said, " Ken is the only person you should call."

Ken did a wonderful job repairing the 20 foot long crack in my ceiling. He did the work in the amount of time he said and at a fair price. He also explained what paint to use and exactly how to paint it to get the best results.

Ken was a very professional contractor. He was very personable and explained all that he was doing. We highly recommend him for any job.

Ken is a very busy contractor as most of them are at this time, but he came in, evaluated the work to be done and finished it in less time than he had projected. He was very sensitive to the conditions under which we were living in due to water damage and worked us in between his other customers. He had a real challenge also as he had to "fix" another contractor's work. I would not hesitate to have him again if needed. I know he would be there for me.

I hired Ken because he was very knowledgeable and was unfazed looking at our repair work. I had a high deal of confidence he would do a good job. His estimate was lower than at least one other estimate we had and after he got into it he lowered his estimate further. He is almost done and there is some finishing sanding to be completed before I move onto painting. He is busy, but fit us in with another project in the area. Drywall repair work requires time between visits to allow the mud to cure, so this is working out well for both Ken and ourselves.

Ken was so quick to get our project done and that's what I loved. He is great!

I am an avid DIYer and had planned on doing this job myself; however, I was trying to meet my twins 2nd Birthday party deadline, so I hired Ken and a painting company to me get ahead. After the paint dried and it was my turn to do the molding and finishing touches, I found many drywall issues. The biggest issue was that Ken did not put nearly enough screws into the drywall and the screws he did put in went through the drywall paper resulting in unsecured drywall. The lower quarter portion of the drywall did not have any screws fastening it to the studs and if you applied minimal pressure to my walls they would move. Ken's response was that the base molding would hold it in place. My response was that I would like screws to hold the drywall to the studs, not brad nails. The second issue I had was the joints were very noticeable. Ken's response was "that's drywall", my response was it should not be noticeable. Ken had to come back and touch up for 2 hrs. one weekend and then another 1.5 hrs. after the painters requested he do additional touch ups before they repainted. My basement had so many touch up spots that the entire thing needed to be repainted with two coats. The painting company only charged me $200 (material cost) to repaint, this is an expense that I should not have had. Ken would not cover the cost of the repainting due to his personal financial issues, but he eventually gave me $100 for his mistakes. The most upsetting part about this is that I paid a professional $1,000 in labor and $300 for materials to do this job so I could get ahead, instead I ended up with shoddy work and two weeks behind. This is the first and last time I will ever pay someone to do a job for me, I will continue doing it myself so that I know it is done right.
