I contacted Paul at Highline, and we scheduled a moving date. I described that I was moving out of a 3000 square foot house, and had a lot of boxes, although I'd sold some of the furniture. I also mentioned that I didn't have any idea if all of my items could fit into the truck, and so I'd reserved a trailer from ABF/U-Pack as well. Soon after 9am on the agreed date, two movers showed up, and let me know they had also been booked for an afternoon job. I suggested that they call and get more help, and eventually by noon, one additional mover arrived. It soon became clear that I probably needed 4-5 movers for an all-day job, but the three movers were required to leave about 3pm to go to their next job, and so I got my 26' truck filled, but with many remaining items that needed to be packed into the trailer. Highline didn't have further availability, and so I needed to find another packing firm that was able to load the remaining items into the trailer. This was extremely inconvenient, but not the reason for the poor rating. When I arrived on the west coast, the true damage was revealed. As the movers i'd hired there were unloading the truck, they called me over and showed me how much of the wood furniture was packed in a way that allowed wood-to-wood contact. Thus my furniture pieces had been rubbing together over the course of the 2600 mile journey. I took pictures of the furniture in the truck before it was moved out by the crew on that side. When I had rented the truck, I had also rented 6 dozen moving blankets, Highline had only used about 4-1/2 dozen when packing. The wood-to-wood contact caused extensive damage to nearly all of the pieces of Thomasville dining room set, as well as damage to an expensive Italian china cabinet, and further scratching and broken arm on a Thomasville breakfast nook set. My wife immediately called Paul at Highline to alert him of the damage. He requested details of our move date, and said he'd immediately look into who was onsite, and would get back to us. We didn't hear from Paul. I brought in a company that does on-site furniture repair for an estimate, which came out to over $6000. Since I had an email from Paul in my inbox, I hit reply and attached the estimate and a few pictures. I called to follow up a few weeks later and he denied receving it, so I sent it via postal mail. In my next call, he said that his insurance wouldn't be able to cover anything since his truck was not used for the moving purposes. I told him that I didn't care if it was his insurance or his bank account paying, but I had thousands of dollars of damage due to his company's poor work. Paul refused to follow up, and so I was left to file a claim with my insurance company, and sent them after Highline. So thanks to good insurance, my loss has been reduced to my insurance deductible, but there's the possibility that my premiums will rise as a result of the large claim. You might be wondering if the journey itself was unusually harsh and contributed to the damage. It wasn't. I'd driven a moving truck cross-country twice before, and was very careful about curbs, rough roads, and other things which can cause damage. Everything in boxes arrived just fine, including all of the china and crystal to fill up those cabinets. I think that Paul himself was, at one time, a good and careful mover, and built up a good reputation for his company. Now that he's sitting behind the desk running multiple other crews, it seems he's not passed on that training to all of his crew. The worst part is that he would not stand behind his company's work. His crew was pleasant, and worked diligently. But they obviously did not have much experience packing fine furniture, particularly for long trips.

The movers were punctual at both ends of the move and worked quickly. We had a small hiccup with the moving process, but the Company stood behind its work and made things right. Based on our experience, Highline is worthy of its high Angie's List and BBB ratings.

Two movers arrived right on time and worked quickly and carefully. When unloading at the new place, they were very professional, conscientious and careful not to disrupt any of the other residents (had to bring everything to the 2nd floor). I was concerned that when I bought the coupon, the company would find a way to slow down the move so charges would be more. This was not the case at all. The whole move (across town) was completed within the discounted time frame. I would certainly use Highline Moving again and also recommend them to others.

We had to move our household from one residence to another 25 miles distance. We moved on Friday August 16 our entire household of furniture including a piano. Two young men arrived that morning and got the job done in about 5 hours. They did a great job. They hauled furniture with no complaints at all and were pleasant and enjoyable to work with all the way to the end. We wouldn't even hesitate to use them again in the future. This company is great.

Right on time, worked quickly (maybe a bit too quickly), friendly, professional. The only reason I gave a B to quality was that one of the guys tripped coming up the stairs and banged a small 2-drawer end table into the door frame at the top of the stairs. They promised to come back and use putty and paint to repair it, but that might have been avoided if he had taken a bit more time (they were really hustling to get the work done quickly on a busy weekend). Mistakes happen, and this was a mistake. I would definitely recommend these folks, and will use them again if I need moving locally. Pricing was very good, communication was excellent.

Two guys showed up, on time, called ahead and were very nice. My *only* complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that they would not bring down a large, heavy cat tower that I had told the owner about when I booked the move a couple weeks before. They said they were both allergic. The reason we got movers was to avoid heavy items, and the cat tower was very clean and free of any hair etc. We ended up having to move that ourselves, but that is the only thing that wasn't great! The guys worked their butts off for 5+ hours, refused lunch offers multiple times, didn't stop to even so much as use the bathroom. They were very hard working, efficient and packed that truck to the roof with our stuff. Nothing was broken, moved right into the new house and to appropriate floors/rooms without much of a hitch (other than the cat tower). Next time, I would just recommend that someone comes to take a look at what you're moving so there is a big enough truck because we did have to leave things behind and come back to get it with our own vehicles, and I would also just recommend that if you know your guys have any allergies to pets, you don't send them somewhere where they will be asked to move pet items.

When I called Paul (the owner), I explained that I had several difficult items to be moved.... equipment for my business as well as an old bank safe. I suggested that he come by and see them to make sure they would not be a problem. He assured me that they had experience moving large items and that it would not be a problem. He said that on the moving day, if it were a problem, he would personally come and help. On the moving day, his guys has no idea what I had. They immediately were unsure how to safely move the items. We called Paul. He did come over after sending two other guys who also didn't know what to do. The long and short of this story is that eventually they got everything moved. However instead of a 4 hour move (as quoted by other companies and Paul), it turned into an entire day. They had to go and rent several items to complete my move and even then, it wasn't easy. At the end, Paul apologized but charged me more than he should have. I was so worn out from the experience, I didn't even argue. If you have unusual items, don't use this company... all they have is a small moving truck, hand carts and blankets. No lift gates, no pallet jacks, etc. If it's big or heavy, they are not the company for you!!

Everything went perfect. No scratches, wall damage, floor damage or anything. I called up and Paul was able to schedule us in on the same day we called for an estimate. The two man crew (Corey and James) were friendly and professional and courteous.

Went great, very minor snags, but it's to be expected with a move. The guys were professional, hard-working and prompt.

Excellent. They showed up on time, were very polite and professional. They were very considerate as to not damage anything including walls. They also gave me the opportunity to move anything around before they left. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is moving.

Everything went great. Highline was very responsive. I had to cancel a couple of times as the freight forwarding company dropped my original safe and reschedule. Highline was on top of everything and had a crew at my home within hours of the call.

I bought a bedroom set on Craigs List. Because of Highline's excellent reviews on Angie's List, they were the first I called. With only two days notice, Paul was available at my timeframe to pick up and deliver the furniture to my home. The truck arrived on time, professional service, the furniture was well protected arriving without a scratch and placed exactly where I wanted it and the price was very reasonable. I will use this company every time I need furniture moved. Excellent company to work with!

They were on time and easy to work with. Handled my furniture and belongings with care. Worked very hard, even in the rain. Final cost lower than other moving companies quotes. The only thing is they forgot the wardrobe mover. This ended up meaning days more work for my household. However, that aside I would hire them again as they were professional.

He accommodates you no matter what he is doing; he is just super. He took our old refrigerator, removed the door, and put it on the curb for us. He just goes the extra mile. He is just a great guy. He helped move my son’s armoire up to a fourth floor apartment only to find that it didn’t fit, so he brought it to our basement. The thing weighs 500 pounds; it is eight feet tall and solid wood. Anyone else would just roll their eyes and tell me to forget about it. He usually charges me by the move and I think his prices are fair.

Excellent. The owner of the business was easy to contact. He explained pricing and easily accommodated my needs and schedule. His workers arrived 15 minutes early. They worked hard, were polite and friendly. I would definately use them again.
