Everything Complete Carpentry did for us has been perfect. He is the only one I will call when I have any kind of renovation or carpentry job that needs to be done. He is so accommodating with scheduling, is a pleasure to deal with and really knows his stuff! He always has great suggestions of things we didn't consider but that made such a big difference. I can't recommend him enough!!!
Description of Work: Chris Kardis had previously redone my kitchen a few years ago which we were thrilled with. He was neat, professional and came up with great suggestions which were so helpful and made a big difference. He just recently finished our office and installed all new Windows, redid the closet and moldings.

Kitchen remodeling is exciting but it also can be overwhelming and scary. Chris made it so much easier for me. He is an expert at kitchen remodeling and guided me through the many decisions that had to be made. I used Chris several years ago to renovate my basement and I knew I wanted to use him for my kitchen. I still got prices form other contractors just to compare and he was competitively priced. Chris and his assistant arrived promptly every morning and worked diligently throughout the day. Each afternoon they cleaned throughly. All work was performed as promised. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was excellent! My appliances were removed and then replaced without a scratch or dent! Chris is a talented finish carpenter and does not leave any loose ends. All punch list items were taken care of in a timely fashion. The best thing about hiring Complete Carpentry is that you are hiring Chris. He doesn't sub out his work. You get the OWNER doing all the work. Its rare to see that these days. I have no doubt that I will be hiring Complete Carpentry when I'm ready to renovated my master bath.
Description of Work: Complete Kitchen Remodel. Complete gut of the kitchen, saving the appliances. Installed new cabinets, ceramic tile floor, new lighting, refinished all walls and ceils, granite countertop, new electrical up to code, new plumbing, closed a walk through in kitchen and added a closet behind it in the hallway, replaced sliding glass doors, replaced hard wood floors.

Response from Complete Carpentry
I called the home owner to inform her that I was unable to make our appointment on the evening of August 8 and to try to reschedule for another night. I called several times before the appointment time and left a message each time. She did not call back. I called again several times the following day to make sure she got my messages and to try to reschedule our appointment. Again, she did not return my calls. I make it a point to treat all my clients respectfully and to honor the value of their time. I am always promptly on time and, occasionally, if I need to reschedule an appointment, I always call or text my clients to let them know.

This is the second time we've hired Chris. The first time was for our kitchen/dining/room/living room/entry way. We LOVED it!!! Here's the link to view the work he did on our kitchen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAqBxzyJpU0. Recently, Chris did our main bathroom: Originally we had a 70's style bathroom. Chris brought us up to date. He gutted it completely. New walls, plumbing, floor tiles, subway tiles on the walls, vanity, tub glass doors... Here's a quick video of the before and after - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RjXOH5Fm84. More images/videos to follow. We love the bathroom and his work. Chris is tireless. He'll come in early and leave late. Always cleans up before he leaves. He has amazing ideas and suggestions (we've used quite a few of them). He the best. We can't wait to redo our basement. And, yes, he's the only one we would consider for the job. Call Complete Carpentry. You won't be disappointed.

Complete Carpentry was recommended to us by our neighbor, so we hired Chris to remodel our entire kitchen. Chris and his staff were not only neat and clean, but they gave great recommendations on designs and appliances. Chris put together ideas for designs and installed all the kitchen cabinets, made recommendations for granite and installed it, recommendations for tiles and installed all the wall and floor tiles, and installed our new stove, microwave, etc., etc. Chris did an amazing job. We LOVE our new kitchen! Would definitely use their services again.

He paid attention to detail and helped us make decisions on how to redo the space. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional renovation.

Chris showed up when he said he would. He's always on time. He installed the grab bar and ceiling fan very easily. We absolutely love the ceiling fan and it makes a big difference in our upstairs loft. We were on a time constraint as we had company coming to stay with us. It was important that both installations were completed by a certain date. Chris returns phone calls promptly and tries his best to accommodate schedules. He's very professional and does a great job!

We chose Chris after getting a number of estimates for our bathroom remodel. We met with him based on his very positive Angie's List reviews and hired him because he way by far the most professional and personable of all the contractors we met. It was the best decision we made and we were very happy with the experience and with the results. Chris and his assistant JD showed up on time every morning and even worked through a Holiday weekend to make sure the job was done based on our schedule. Chris was on the job all day every day and was meticulous in his work. He is a perfectionist ( a great quality on a job like this) and leaves no loose ends. He even spent almost an entire day correcting an electrical issue for us that could have proved to have been quite costly if Chris had not taken on the work himself. It was just one of many examples of his strong work ethic and commitment to getting the job done right. He is very detail oriented and extremely organized and neat. We felt very comfortable trusting Chris with our home, and would not hesitate to hire him again. In fact we are already saving for our next project with Chris because of what a beautiful job he did in our bathroom and how impressed we are with him and his work. He is busy though- he has a full schedule for months at a time because when people hire him they almost always want to hire him again for future projects. His positive reviews are spot on, we give him A's across the board.

Our basement project was the third time we hired Chris and he delivered once again! We had a completely unfinished, concrete basement to start with. Chris helped us figure out the best layout and design for the space. His suggestions created the absolute best use of the space and opened it up more than we originally thought. We finished three-quarters of the basement, leaving unfinished space for access to our heating system, water pipes, washer & dryer, etc. Chris and Joe built the walls, ceiling, put it the insulation, base molding, built storage a closet, a utility closet, and a cedar closet, put in all new electrical, installed new washer & dryer on the unfinished side, hooked up a new dehumidifier to drain automatically on the unfinished side, mounted television with all the wires running behind the wall, & built a bar area which included tiling and granite. Chris gave us the idea to use an IR repeater for the cable box so that the cable box could be out of sight in the utility closet. It uses an "eye" that attaches to the tv (it's small, you can't even see it!) and it sends the signal to the box. So all you see is the television. There's no box, no wires, no tv stand or shelf. You just use the cable box remote normally (pointed at the tv) and it works flawlessly. It's very cool. One of my must-haves was a cedar closet. Originally we were going to build this at the back of the stairs. Chris had the idea to build it between the unfinished side and the bar area and it was such a great idea. It completely opened up the basement doing it this way. Not only did it open up the space, but it allowed for better access to some pipes in the ceiling. For the majority of the ceiling in our basement we did sheetrock because there was nothing that would have been blocked off by using sheetrock. But we did do a drop ceiling in two small areas where there were pipes that we wanted to make sure we could access if we needed to. The way Chris designed the basement, the drop ceiling is only 1) inside of the cedar closet, and 2) over the bar area. Both of these areas are also tiled. So it makes perfect sense and it looks great. If for any reason we were to have a leak, 1) we can access the pipe, and 2) the leak would be over the tile and not the carpet. The other must-have for me was storage. Chris built an awesome storage closet for all the toys! We also have plenty of space on the unfinished side for storing bins, and we have storage under the stairs. It's important to keep your basement dry! We bought a really good dehumidifier and Chris hooked it up so that it drains automatically. It's awesome and since we no longer have to dump water from a dehumidifier, we really had no need to add a slop sink so that saved us some money. (Previously we were carrying the heavy dehumidifier bin upstairs and dumping it outside). What we wanted out of our basement was someplace for our baby to play and someplace for us to play too! Chris built us a beautiful bar. It's a simple construction of a sheetrock base with a granite top. It's perfect for the space and it looks amazing. Chris hung shelves behind the bar to hold wine glasses and liquor bottles. The bar area is tiled and Chris leveled out the floor first and the tiles look perfect. We had one minor problem with the granite though. Unfortunately Chris measured incorrectly. We brought his measurements to the granite guy, they cut the granite, and when they came to install it, it was off by two inches. Chris took full responsibility, offered a few options to solve to problem, and said if nothing else he would pay to replace it. The first suggestion was to call the granite guys to come back and see what they could do to fix it. Turns out it just needed one small piece to fill the area where it met the wall. This small piece (maybe 2"x 1") would bump it out the two inches it needed to hang over the bar correctly. The granite guys came back, did the fix, and it's flawless. Of course there are small seems where they added the piece, but you would never know it was there if you didn't know to look for it. And even then it's hard to see. The granite guys did a great job with the fix, but the point is that Chris quickly admitted his mistake, found a solution, and made it work. Mistakes happen. It's how they're handled that makes all the difference in the kind of person you want to work with. Chris and Joe came every single day, worked the whole day, and cleaned up at the end of every day. They finished on time and did a great job. They really have an unparalleled work ethic. Chris really listens to what you want done and he has good ideas and suggestions to make that happen in the best way possible. He's smart. To me that's a very important quality in who I hire. We absolutely love our new basement! Looking forward to the next project!

The job went as smooth as you can ask for. Chris is extremely professional and personable. I gave him a key and let him do the work with out me there. Everyday my house was broom swept, clean and organized. The work was done in a timely fashion and very detail oriented. The price was extremely fair. No hidden expenses or up-charges. I would recommend Chris to anyone who needs any type of carpentry work. If there is any concern he has no problem coming back and taking care of any request. I will be hiring him again to install my kitchen this summer. One of the best contractors I've dealt with so far.

Deciding to hire Chris to renovate our kitchen was one of the best decisions we?ve ever made!! His professionalism and attention to detail made us want to hire him even before he got back to us with the final estimate for the job. Of course we had chosen to contact him for an estimate based on all the great reviews here and I must say he has definitely earned each and every positive comment that has been posted! His quotes are very reasonable, but the real value is his knowledge and craftsmanship. He also exhibits a level of customer service I was not used to. He is very punctual, returns calls promptly, answers questions, offers advice, and educated us when something needed to be done differently than we expected. One thing that really stood out was how clean and neat the work was performed. Every day when the day?s work was completed the area was completely swept and vacuumed, and all the tools/materials were organized out of the way. You wouldn?t know anyone had been there except for the obvious progress in the work being done! From start to finish having Chris working in the house was a very enjoyable experience, so much so that we started speaking to him about doing the bathroom even before he had even finished the kitchen. We never experienced anything negative regarding his interaction with us or the work he performed. Like I said before, all the positive comments written about him really hit the nail on the head, no pun intended. He deserves at least a few to be repeated? He speaks to you as a person, not as a desperate salesperson. He does everything possible to stay within budget (and did so very well I must say). He honors his word, even if it means coming by on his time to complete something. He is a perfectionist; no detail is too minute or insignificant. He is never pushy, always offering suggestions and ideas without making you feel pressured in any way. Always punctual, sticks to the schedule, and most importantly completes the job on time. That?s just a few of the many compliments we could give him. We would definitely recommend him, and as stated before, we have already chosen to use him again for our bathroom!!!

Chris was 1 of 3 quotes that we got for our bathroom renovation. We decided to have him do the job because his rating and reviews are excellent. He returns all phone calls, shows up on time, and cleans up at the end of every work day. His price is reasonable and his work is beautiful!! He is very professional and is all about customer satisfaction. He means everything he says. You never feel like he's giving you a sales pitch. Our bathroom was very old and very ugly. It is now completely updated and gorgeous! He gives you a clear quote of what the work will cost and includes some basic items. He then makes you a shopping list of the other items you will need to get. You have complete control over that portion of your budget. He was always there to answer our questions and send us in the right direction for certain items, e.g. tile, granite, and plumbing. He starts the job when everything is in and he doesn't leave until it is finished. He is not going to disappear for a few days and come back etc. We highly recommend Chris for any work you are considering doing in your home. We would also ask him, without hesitation, to do future projects in ours.

Chris and Joe are amazing! We are extremely happy with both bathrooms and the renovated kitchenette done by Complete Carpentry. Chris was extremely professional throughout the entire job. When he came to give his estimate he was punctual and very knowledgable. He offered advice and recommendations, but was never pushy. He began the job a month after giving the estimate, just as he said he would. Chris and Joe were meticulous with their work and clean up each day. Chris even had his own dumpster to take away the debris, so we did not have to deal with putting tons of garbage at the curb. Both bathrooms were completed on time and exactly the way we wanted. Because of a mixup with our shower door (not Chris' fault) we had to special order a door that took 4 weeks to deliver. To his credit, Chris came to finish the job on the weekend before Thanksgiving, so we wouldn't have to wait any longer. I would strongly recommend Complete Carpentry for any home improvements. Chris actually did some other small jobs for us while he was doing the contracted work that were not in the original estimate, such as installing a light fixture in the basement and running a water line to our refrigerator. We will definitely use Chris when we redo our kitchen!

Chris was awesome. He was a real pleasure to work with. He does everything himself and is a perfectionist. We have an older home and nothing was particularly easy about our job, including a leak from the 100 year old waste line in our bathroom that happened 3 weeks or so after he finished. He came over within a day or 2 on a sunday and fixed the leak immediately! He is very helpful and has a keen eye for color and style. He helped us pick out fixtures, tiles, paint color and just about everything else. I highly recommend Chris for any job and plan to have him back to do our kitchen soon.

Chris was remodeling my neighbor's kitchen, which motivated my husband and me to do the same. We had the good fortune of seeing Chris's work firsthand, and hearing from our neighbor's what their experience was like working with Chris. Still, since this was our biggest renovation that we had ever undertaken, we solicited estimates from 2 other contractors. We hired Chris because we felt his price was fair and he listened to what we wanted done. Our job included removing a load-bearing wall between our kitchen and dining room, and constructing a laundry room out of part of our garage. Chris first constructed the laundry room and hooked up the washer, dryer, second refrigerator, and added a slop sink and cabinets. Chris moved the washer/dryer from our old kitchen to the new laundry room the same day, so we were not without use of the washer/dryer even for one day! I was able to set up the new laundry room as our temporary kitchen while the old kitchen was being gutted (microwave, sink and fridge. along with an electric fry pan, crock pot and using our outdoor grill really made not having a kitchen quite easy for us!) Chris recommends KraftMaid cabinetry, which suited me fine. I actually liked have some guidance/limits to narrow the overwhelming choice of cabinets down! Chris and his helper arrived on time each morning and did a great job cleaning up at the end of each day. Chris tends to be a perfectionist on finishing details, but then again, who doesn't like perfection? My Dad who did all (most) of the work in the house I grew up in, even commented on how good Chris's mitering was! We have been enjoying our new kitchen and laundry room tremendously for the last two years. Randomly, our electricity to our kitchen's island stopped working last month. I saw Chris's truck at my neighbor's house doing another job and stopped by to say hello, and mentioned this problem. Chris stopped by after his day's work and had my electric back running that day...for no charge! Chris's company is small and Chris himself does the majority of the work and is on site everyday. It's nice to have your estimate and work all done by one person. I highly recommend Chris. The work was excellent and he stayed within the estimated cost.

We called Chris upon recommendation of two friends after seeing the work he did their house to consider redoing our basement. We were unsure on how to redesign it and to make best use of the space. We made an appointment with him and Chris showed up on time, and we went downstairs to look at the space. Chris walked around and took some notes and pointed things out to us during his walkthrough. He reviewed the space and recommended that we fully gut the basement from scratch, as there were too many problems to take any shortcuts. Chris removed all of the sheetrock, and the drop ceiling. He installed new insulation and filled in any cracks in the foundation that he had found. He replaced the sheetrock and created a new sheetrock ceiling, with new highhat lighting. He replaced two windows, and added a new backdoor w/blinds. He redid all of the plumbing, removing excess heating pipes that were no longer needed, and installed new baseboard heating. He built us a new walk-in closet with large wall-to-wall shelving. He created a new boiler room and installed our dehumidifier to automatically drain. He built us a new laundry room, added a slop sink, and installed the appliances we bought with new plumbing for the washer and venting for dryer. He created a new 1/2 bath, with all new plumbing and exhaust fan. He boxed in all of the weight baring poles, electric closet and other exposed pipes where applicable. He did all of the electric work, including running new hookups for the bathroom, lighting, numerous new outlets, switchplates and entertainment center. He redid and ran all of cable wiring and hung, setup the new TV/sound system. He added all new moldings, and installed the bannister rail and post on the stairs. He installed external security lighting. We are now enjoying watching the big-screen TV in my new finished basement. We love the new bathroom, laundry room and closets. Chris is trustworthy and delivers on his committments. Looking forward to working with him again when we are ready to redo our kitchen in few years. I would highly recommend Chris without any reservations.

Before interviewing Chris, I studied Angie's List and decided to hire him based on the following: ---Numerous A ratings & positive comments from Angie's List members. ---Mentions that Chris was always on the job and did the work himself vs. other contractors who managed crews and checked progress once a day. ---Almost every contractor received negative comments for not returning phone calls; that was not our experience with Chris. My wife and I could not be more pleased with the work Chris and his helper, Joe, did on our three bathrooms. They arrived every morning at 7:45 ready to work. Chris doesn't sub contract out work. He does it all himself and he doesn't take shortcuts. Chris provided many helpful suggestions on what to buy & where to buy it. They did a nice job of cleaning up when the day was done. Chris has a great eye for detail. He's not happy unless it's perfect. I don't think I could have picked a better contractor. We've recommended him to neighbors and would hire him again.
Description of Work: Chris completely gutted and rebuilt two full bathrooms & partially rebuilt a half bath.

Chris came very highly recommended by numerous friends of mine. They were not wrong! He showed up for our appointment promptly, and explained in great detail what needed to be done. Most importantly, he gave a time frame for the work, and stuck to it! How many contractors actually do that? There were no "hidden costs," and no pressure to do additional work. If anything, as the work was being done, we asked for additional things to be done, which Chris was able to fit into the already agreed-upon schedule. It was a very pleasant surprise from the last contractor that did work in my house. Also impressive was that we were never, ever left without a working bathroom upstairs, even though the project encompassed both bathrooms. He was mindful of our needs, and put that ahead of what was easier for him. Chris and his partner also cleaned up at the end of every day, which was a pleasure. If you didn't open the doors to the bathrooms, you would never know that work was being done in the house. This was especially important in the master bathroom, adjacent to the bedroom. In addition to fantastic construction work, Chris has a really artistic eye. He knows what colors and styles will look best, and came up with very creative and beautiful tile patterns. They were his original ideas, not what you see in all the tile stores. He is like a contractor and a designer all in one! One last thing - Chris never abandons his clients or his projects. Even after the work is completed, Chris will always come back for anything you need. He leaves his clients extremely happy, and completely confident that they chose the right person for the job. Without a doubt, I will definitely use Chris for my next house project.

I called Chris last week and spoke to him to set up an appt. We agreed on a date to come out for an estimate. I texted him my home address and details. When Chris didn't show up at our pre-arranged time, I called his cell phone and told him that we had an appt. He said that I never text him the address. If I'm being fair and honest, I sent the text to the other number on Angie's List which turned out to be a land line so Chris never had my address. I sent him a text the next day with my address (to his correct number this time) and did not hear back from him during the day. On my way home, I called him again to see if we could reschedule. He answered and told me he woudl call me later that evening. Never heard from him. I texted him again to see if he had any interest and no response. Sounds like a somewhat similar experience that another reviewer had. While those that used him seemed happy, he must have just decided that he didn't want to work with us. The beauty of Angie's List is that the customer now has a forum to tell others about their experience. This kind of behavior seems a little manic to me and I will not entertain Chris as a vendor even if he returns my calls.

LOOK NO FURTHER!! This was by far the best experience I have ever had with a home improvement company. I mean it. I have had my home dormer-ed, windows replaced, bathrooms remodeled, flooring installed and I have never ever felt satisfied. This is not the case with Complete Carpentry. Everyday, I came home to something more beautiful. Each and every day, Chris and his assistant (Joe) came on time, cleaned up after the day was done and left our home as neatly as they found it. In addition, Chris recommended the cabinet, granite and tile companies. Each and every person that I dealt with was nicer than the next! All affordable to boot! All of them are a reflection of the person in the center of it all === Chris Kardis. Truly a gifted craftsman. For example, he removed all of the ugly penny molding and installed all new crown molding. Oh my goodness! Such care in the details. It's absolutely beautiful! Then, Chris skim coated a very uneven ugly pop corn ceiling. In the middle was an old barn beam that the previous owners had installed (for decorative purposes). I thought for sure that Chris would never be able to get rid of that divot, let alone the uneven popcorn ceiling. Yet no one can tell where the old beam laid. Everyday I stare up at that sleek flat ceiling and smile. I must of hugged the poor guy ten thousand times. It wasn't enough! He made me fall in love with my kitchen all over again. I would say to him = "Where have you been all my life!" He would smile and say "everyone says that". It's so true! I had to wait a couple of months for him to have an opening in his calendar, but he is SO very worth it. You will not be disappointed. Instead of calling the company "Complete Carpentry", he should have called it = Competely Satisfied Customer Carpentry.
Description of Work: Removed kitchen cabinets, extended wall and framed hallway opening, installed kitchen cabinets, installed all new appliances, installed new faucet, installed new light fixtures, removed old molding, installed new crown molding, removed old barn beam, skim coated ceiling, replaced broken tile on the floor, installed new toe kick heater, tiled back splash.
