Description of Work: The estimator spent more time telling me about the 15 houses that he owned and was "flipping" when he was looking over my home for a cleaning estimate. What he said was "a very bad mold problem" that would warrant replacing sheetrock and "ozoneing" the house was only heat stains and dust that were cleaned up with a bleach and water solution. He never called with an estimate!

Description of Work: Cleanup after a sewerage backup in the basement. I called Servpro because of their reputation. I didn't realize it at first but a truck arrived with no markings on it. the Servpro trucks are very distinct. After the job was started I asked the person who seemed to be in charge and found out he was a subcontractor. I was told by the Servpro office staff that the onsite supervisor cold give me and estimate. the supervisor said he couldn't give me a price and he would document everything for submission to my insurance company. The office staff said the workers would have a moisture meter to determine how much of the wall to remove. No such meter was used onsite. We received a bill a couple of months after the service was performed. The amount was way out of line with the services supplied. The 2 workers were onsite for about 4 hours. One worker spent half of the time sitting in the truck while the other did the work. the bill was for about $3300. I spoke to Servpro and they immediately offered a private pay amount of about $2800. I told them it was not acceptable and told them I was not happy that they sent a sub and the job was poorly done. They called back with a new amount of approximately $1600. I thought this was still high for the quality of the work but did pay it. If I need these kind of services again I would get multiple written estimates and verify subcontractors would not be used. The office staff was very pleasant to deal with.

NOT GOOD! I had 4' of water in my basement from Hurricane Sandy and had to replace and repair electric, heat, hot water, etc. Right after the hurricane, I called Servpro and one of their branches came over and gave me an estimate for around $2,000 to throoughly powerwash, spray with mold and mildew retardant, pull up all remaining tiles on my basement floor and scrape any loose paint off the basement cement walls, and provide me with several (3?) airmovers and a dehumidifier. I had to have all the repairs done so I just dried out the basement until now when I am ready to have it washed down and dried up again. I called Servpro of Port Jefferson, who I believe is also the same company as Servpro of Hicksville or Westbury and they came down to give me an estimate. Its the same basement! Nothing that would affect their job has changed and yet my estimate went from approximately $2,000 to over $4,000!!!! This is ridiculous and is a blatant example of a company trying to take advantage of a consumer! If anybody is thinking of using this company, I would get SEVERAL ESTIMATES before I would even THINK about considering them. Obviously their pricing is just at their whim and whimsy! This type of behavior by a contractor is a disgrace! I should also add that 1. I have a small cape house and 2. I know SEVERAL PEOPLE who had their similar basements washed down by Servpro and other companies and ALL OF THEM paid around $2,000 give or take a few hundred! NOBODY told me they paid anywhere near $4,000!!!

Unfortunately going over our records back dated from 2012 It is unclear if we had given you an estimate. However, calling a year later, after significant damage that you dried yourself. It is possible that the damages worsened, from improper drying , causing "mold". Which would cause the price of the estimate to increase.

Charlene was courteous and prompt and provided a very fair estimate. The work was done quickly and carefully. The workers who completed the work were very careful about their approach to protect areas of the basement not affected by the water that seeped into the insulation. There have been no issues with the work and would use ServPro again if faced with similar circumstances again. I asked for pictures of the areas prior to the work being done and was given some 15 pics. I didn't price this work with any competitors so I'm not sure if I received a good price. I do know that I requested pricing for insulating, sheerock and pain of the area once the mold remediation had been done. The estimate was pricey and we didn't use ServPro for the post-remediation work. In all I was very satisfied with ServPro and they may very well deserve an overall and quot;Aand quot; rather than a and quot;Band quot; since my only concern was pricing.
Description of Work: Basement sheetrock and insulation ripped out. Mold removed. Commerical dehumdifiers placed in basement to complete mold remediation work.

I had a flood in my basement. The initial estimate was for 2000.00 because my power was out and they were going to have to use their own generator as well as their pumps. They took two days to get my basement cleaned out. My power ended up coming back on so they didn't have to use their generator. The used an industrial dehumidifier and shop-vacs to get the puddles cleaned up. They also put down chemicals to prevent mold. They left their machines for three days to make sure all the water was gone. They made the tough experience so much easier to bear. They were very polite and professional.
Description of Work: My basement was flooded with up to three feet of water.

Our overall experience with Servpro was very good. We were impressed with how quickly they got here and with the professionalism and knowledge that they demonstrated. They were very helpful to us in our time of need. The work quality is great. We highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Servpro of Port Jefferson cleaned out our basement when it was flooded. They did this by bringing in dehumidifiers and fans. They came immediately when called and left their equipment here for 7 days. Ours is a three bedroom, two bathroom home but I'm not sure of the exact dimensions of the basement. The price was reasonable for the work they did.

They are still working on the job. They are very slow and careless. The initial price appeared to be good until we saw what we were getting. They came quickly and set up the appointment for us. They have responded quickly to try to fix the problems. They don't listen very well and each time there is more left to do.
Description of Work: They did mold re-mediation after a flood.
