A & P Painting & Roofing

Peter came out and gave an estimate and made some suggestions that would save money. He was informative and helpful. Our color was no longer on file for HOA. work was delayed waiting for approval from HOA. Once approved the job went quickly and smoothly. They arrived on time and went about their work quietly and efficiently. The crew was always busy working. Two story 1800 + square foot home two story with all kinds of bushes and trees in the way was painted in about 38 man hours. A crew of 4-5 completed our house in about 1 1/2 days including washing, priming, scraping, taping off, painting and cleanup. The house looks great.

Initial point of contact was made through AngiesList Message center and response time was very quick and outside of normal business hours - that was very impressive to me. I had virtually no trouble reaching the company and dealt directly with the owner, Peter, for most of the transaction. He came out and did a free assessment and gave me plenty of honest information. Scheduling got a bit tricky but was very fast once i signed the purchase order. I expected a 1-2 week wait and it was scheduled and completed within 4, but i was asked the day of to schedule the pressure wash with a full paint the next day. At least 1 day in advance would have been preferable, but I'm pretty sure the short notice was due to a cancellation. Overall, the job was done quickly, ahead of schedule, and the painters were very friendly and personable. The onsite manager, Hector, was very pleasant and professional at all times. No surprises at the end, either. I paid exactly what i was quoted and received exactly what was discussed and then some They painted the garage door for me as well, which was not discussed at the estimate time. When asked while the painters were there, i was concerned there would be extra charge for it and to my surprise, there was none. They used the extra paint and still finished before they told me it would be done. My one and ONLY complaint is that the concrete walkway around the home, despite a full plastic cover, somehow managed to get quite a bit of paint splatter on it and there are some paint smears on the thresh hold of the back door. It's not a major spill and time may wear it off. We'll see. If not for this, it would be straight A's across the board.

Peter Reid, the owner, showed up on time to give us a written bid for painting the exterior, gazebo, and wrought iron. The final contract defined all the work to be done, paint to be used, and the colors for all areas. The price of $3,000 was very reasonable. His foreman, Hector, and crew showed up the next day to power wash the house. The next day they showed up at 7:00 am and covered all the windows,doors, concrete with plastic and started scraping and painting. They were done by 1:30 PM. The house looked spectacular! They cleaned up all the debris. Peter came by to do a final walk around and to touch up any areas we requested. He even volunteered to replace two tiles that had fallen off our gazebo at no extra charge. I would highly recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.

Estimate, scheduling and work were performed in quick succession. I paid a reasonable price for a top notch job. The suggestion to use eggshell finish was just what I needed. The place where an old doggie door showed in the stucco was refinished nicely so as to not be the eye sore it was -- what a nice surprise bonus! I paid a reasonable price and got top notch work. I will be calling A & P Painting & Roofing again for both roofing and painting.

Repair went well and as described on initial inspection. Did work in timely fashion. Removal and replacement done as described. No hidden charges and workmenship was professional and work explained throughout process. Everything went well and no unexpected glitches or added repair. Totally satisfied with company and staff.

Excellence service! He went the extra mile to even help find matching roof tiles on an old house. Definitely would recommend.

It was wonderful. The owner is extremely nice and knowledgable. They were the only company that gave samples to look at. I was worried about a catcus but they took care of it. Employees listened well and I can't say enough about them.

The outside paint job was done first. The coverage and trim were very well done. They installed the shingle roof a few days later. This also went very well. The longer nails that they used to insure a good hold for the shingles, poked thru the sheathing around the overhang. This exposed bare wood. I called Peter and he said he would stop by and brush the spots to cover any bare wood. When he stopped by he said that there was too much to brush and he would return to respray the eaves and overhang. This was accomplished soon thereafter and was done very well with no extra charge. There are occasional problems that crop up on any job, but how a company responds is the mark of a professional. Peter comes across as a very caring professional that I will use in the future and will highly recommend to all my friends.

We found Peter very easy to work with. He was punctual when he said he would be at the house. The crew that he had here was friendly and hard working. The house looks great.

Peter is a great guy. He took the time to come over and help us pick colors and then explained how the entire project would go. When Hector, his foreman, and crew showed up Monday morning - it went exactly as described. Hector, by the way, is excellent! The guys were here for an entire week - they were on time every day and cleaned up every afternoon before leaving. We could not be happier with how it all turned out.

Service and response is prompt. Peter has a great crew of guys working for him. Hector the lead painter and Juan the lead stucco man do excellent work. Their crews seem to never take a break, someone is always working. Excellent quality work. I had A&P paint my rental and primary residence. Quality is excellent. Only minor complaint is cleanup could have been better but overall work is great.

I called three diffferent companies this morning and explained I needed the roof repaired ASAP as I was sellling my home and it was being inspected on Friday. Peter Reid called me right back after I left a message, was at my home within an hour, gave me an estimate and assured me he could get in done today. He and his workers were back shortly after lunch, did the repairs quickly, provided pictures for me in case I needed them. He was fast, efficient and did a great job.

As expected, A & P came out to power-wash the entire house and inspect areas that needed attention for caulking or repair. The paint scheme was discussed and finalized for painting in a couple of days. On paint day, they went right to work and didn't skip a beat. Both days they were prompt and came almost exactly when they said they would be here. (within minutes) The whole crew was excellent and we highly recommend A&P for your painting needs.

Identified A&P through Angie's List where the company had excellent ratings and a $100 coupon. Peter, the owner, came to provide his estimate the day I called. I had one previous estimate and A&P's was the better price, which included using a high quality Frazee paint. Before painting, I had to wait a couple weeks to get approval from our HOA, even though I was using the same colors as already on the house. A crew arrived two days before the scheduled painting to power wash our house. They did a really good job, including using the power washer to clean my driveway and patio. The crew arrived on time the day of the painting. Of the four crew members, I believe Hector was the only one who spoke English, but that was all that was needed. They did a thorough job of putting plastic down to protect my driveway and patio. They pulled landscaping stone always from the base of the house so that they could apply paint to the foundation. They worked very efficiently and professionally completing the paint job and cleanup in about 7 hours. Hector walked me around the house to ensure the work met with my approval. At areas that receive extensive exposure to the sun, he told me they applied two coats. Peter arrived when the job was completed to ensure I was happy and to receive payment. I told him I was very pleased with the results. He accepted payment by credit card and did not require any money upfront.

We have used A&P painting in the past to do painting and this time we had a leak in our roof. They were on time and did a great job. Peter has always been very thorough and takes plenty of time explaining what he will be doing. Great to have someone you can trust to complete a job on time and do a thorough job.

An outstanding job from start to finish. Totally professional. House looks like a new home now. Hector and his crew were very efficient in their prep and work. Any concerns were promptly addressed and corrected if necessary. If you need painting done right the first time this is the company to call. I will definitely use them for my future painting needs.

A & P Painting and Roofing was one of a handful of service providers I contacted through Angie's List to review my needs and quote a house painting job. They were not the lowest priced, nor were they the highest, but Peter Reid, the owner of A & P Painting, demonstrated to me the clearest understanding of what I wanted done. Peter arrived on time, walked the site with me and pointed out areas where special attention would be required; e.g., cracks, holes, sun and water damage (sprinkler) of stucco; separations of joints due to 25 years of settling of perimeter stucco walls, etc. Peter and I discussed the color (change) for the body and trim, and how it might blend with my neighbors' homes. We also discussed scheduling constraints in that Peter would have to sandwich in his crew between two other scheduled contractors also working on my property. Peter carefully considered all my issues and expectations, he then listed exactly what he would do and offered me a reasonable cost (quote) for the job. I was so impressed with Peter's thoroughness and professional approach, and willingness to work with me on the schedule (and not put me 6 weeks out into the future), all backed up with a fair price that I hired him on the spot. Three days out from scheduled start date Peter called and offered to start a day early, at my option...which I accepted. A & P Painting's crew arrived on time on both the prep-day and on the painting-day. The crew worked fast (lightening) yet carefully and thoroughly. By 3PM on paint-day they had nearly completed their work. Peter showed up to assess the progress at which time Peter, his foreman, Hector, and myself walked the job site and pointing out a few areas needing a little more attention. I was, for the most part, 'blown away!' by what I saw. My house was BEAUTIFUL! The perimeter walls were completely repaired and painted -- you couldn't even tell where the problems had once been! An hour or so later Hector took me on a final walk-around. Everything was PERFECT! They even painted my chimney two-tone in the base and trim colors. Hector touched up a small spot, the crew cleaned up the job site and by 4PM I wished them Hasta luego. Simply said, I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with A & P Printing and Roofing. We were anxious about finding a painter. It's a big investment and one we'll have to live with for years. So we signed up on Angie's List, and found several reputable painters, all of which were very professional and courteous. We chose A & P Painting because of their long history in the valley (2nd generation), excellent reviews, and the professional experience and honest advice we received from Peter. He provided color schemes and advice on types of paint. His price was reasonable, he was on time, and his crew was professional, hard working, and efficient. We are very pleased with the quality of the work and the new look of our house. We would recommend A & P Painting to anyone.

. I said I knew it would probably be in the neighborhood of $1000 to $2000 or so and thought that I had said I would like a real accurate quote/estimate. Surprisingly I never heard from them again. This was the second provider that did not respond with any kind of written proposal/estimate after seeing what I needed done. Luckily I had contact three.

They were wonderful. They were very efficient in cleaning up and the length of time it took them to do it.

They did very good work. They were very well prepared. The crew seemed to work well together, to get everything accomplished on time. The one or two small items that we wanted to add we spoke to Peter Weed and he fulfilled out request without any trouble and no extra cost.

We had a perfect experience. They responded quickly. Came when promised. Did all the work they said they would. Did a quality job. Staff was friendly and patient. They cleaned up after. Peter monitored the work. We could not have asked for more! We highly recommend A&P.
