Voyage Moving

9/25/2019 We had Voyage load up our Penske for a move to Dallas on 9-9-19. Our new house was closing the next day, so I wanted 4 guys to get the job done fast as we wanted to be on the road by 6PM. Jarod seemed nice and knowledgeable. The 4 movers arrived an hour late at 10:30AM. First they began loading all the boxes in the truck. two of the young guys said it was their first day on the job...oops... They weren't coordinated and spent a lot of time standing around telling jokes. We thought they would have one guy in the truck, one guy preparing furniture, two loading, just like previous movers had done. NOPE. So all the boxes got loaded in nice and tight. Other movers always place in bulky furniture then filled in boxes around it. NOPE. I noticed they started standing up our expensive wood furniture on the floor with no wrapping. I asked why they werent using any pads like other movers so they laughed and just tossed the pads on the ground. I had to go and get a trailer, when I came back I saw wood leaning against wood. They stood up metal racks next to my antique bed. There was enormous gaps everywhere as all the boxes were already stacked in the front. When we got to Dallas the local movers asked if we packed the truck ourselves. They said it was the worst job they had ever seen. The inexperienced Voyage youth had broken my table, the metal stands shifted and gouged deeply into the bed frame. We have a broken box spring, my custom desk is gouged, the mattress covers and plastic wrapping I had purchased were unused and tossed under an end table. Some of the fragile boxes were UNDER heavy boxes. When I moved to ELP a 26ft Penske and a 12ft Uhaul trailer fit everything. Now due to the poor packing and all the enormous gaps in my furniture in the back half of the truck, I had to rent a storage space to put the rest of my things. Jarod wanted to charge me for some straps when I had my own straps and pads laying unused on the ground. He I sent him photos and he relinquished and gave my a discount. Jarod also said he was'nt responsible for any damage because they weren't moving us and only loaded up the truck and trailer. So it took these four guys 8 hrs and still wern't done with our single level home. The real movers in Dallas had 3 guys totally unload everything in 4 hrs into a TWO story home. Now we keep noticing more and more of our rather expensive things damaged. If you value your things. DO NOT USE these inexperienced day laborers. It was a nightmare. Thousands of $$ in damage!!! I have pictures I would like to post if someone knows how. These guys should NOT be in business.

First, this was a pretty normal moving experience. Not the best ever, but not the worst in my experience either. Price and flexibility was very good. I got to pick my delivery date, not my previous experience. I paid for hours of labor, which started when they arrived and not when they left the business (or got donuts, coffee, lunch, etc). The crew was friendly and smoke free. But there are some areas they could improve on: At the time of the bid, I was told that the job was big enough they would be starting at 9 to get the packing done. Then it moved to 10:30. They actually arrived at 11:30. Packing did not get completed before end of day. The next day was supposed to be final item packing and loading (they use trailers, not a semi). They arrived at the expected time but did not get finished packing, let alone loading. Third day they finished packing, loading and delivery. It was a long day. Part of the problem was that they did not have enough people scheduled for the job. The first day had the full 4 people but only 3 came after that. when it looked like they would not make the deadline, they did bring in extra help at the end of the day. Another area that could use some improvement was the "if we take it apart, we reassemble it." My backyard umbrella was not reassembled and they lost the bolts and forgot two parts. Finally, about a fifth of the boxes are totally unlabeled. This has made unpacking difficult as those boxes ended up scattered all across the house and none have been in the room I needed them to be in.

EXCELLENT. They were professional, came in under estimated time (and therefore cost) and both movers went the extra mile in every respect. I absolutely want to emphasise the professionalism of the people doing the move. No matter what the companies intention, if there is no follow through by the people doing the work, it is all for nothing. The owner responded quickly to email and concerns as well as being honest and forthright in every respect. There were no hidden charges or costs and everything was known in advance of the move. Before the move the owner conducted an on-site inspection to be sure everything was taken into account in his estimate so there would be not hidden surprises. A very positive experience and I recommend them to anyone needing a moving service.

Excellent. Voyage was on time and below budget. The personnel put in the extra effort to make the move quick, easy and under budget. The owner returned emails and messages quickly as well as keeping us in the loop every step of the way. All in all, ten out of ten. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

This was the easiest move I've ever had! Jarod was very up front about his pricing and his quote was what the move ended up costing. No surprises. He was also very communicative and was quick with responses. His workers were polite and professional and I didn't have to lift a finger! Overall a smooth move and I was happy with the care of my furniture and boxes. I've already recommended them to other friends and colleagues.

Everything went so smooth I didn't have to do anything all my valuables were taking care of and I would definitely hire Voyage moving again
