Professional Contracting

Felipe and his crew did a large project for me (back porch) and myriad smaller items to repair our new home. Short version: I'll definitely be using them again and recommending them, but you need to be engaged. They are not a set-and-forget crew. In general, the quality of the work is high. The porch is exactly as we imagined it and we're quite happy. The only issues I have with some of the work is the fit and finish. Roofing nails missing the joists weren't redone, so now there are nails hanging into my porch. The ramset nails they used to attach the base plate to the concrete pad had some kind of wax/rubber around them which wasn't completely removed prior to painting, so there are weird nubs sticking up on the base plate. Some of the screws on door moulding weren't puttied over. The biggest issue I had with them was communication and scheduling. Felipe forgot a few parts of the project and things got dropped a few times. It worked out because I was paying close attention, but I think he may just have too much going on so things will fall between the cracks. Scheduling was a regular issue. Our project took place right outside of our bedroom, so we wanted to know the night before if they would be there. It was about 50/50 whether they'd give us that heads up. They also broke an expensive high security lock and I was not reimbursed or discounted. On the scale of the project, it was a rounding error in cost, but it's the principle of the matter on that one.

Excellent!!! Couldn't ask for a better job. Professionalism from Tim and Gonzalo all the way. They completed and cleaned everything and left the area beautiful. I give this company and these (2) employees 5 stars plus.

Remarkably well! PCB laid the foundation last fall, 2019. They were careful to match its elevation to the existing house and didn't miss it by even a quarter inch. The main construction started om April 6, 2020 and finished on June 23, 2020. The work was done as per the approved plans and better. We were very impressed with the owners ( Mr. Felipe Silva) attention to detail and prompt responses to our questions or concerns and requested revisions or upgrades. The workmen conducted themselves very professionally and were highly skilled at their crafts. They were also a lot of fun to visit with. We were particularity pleased with the carpentry and roofing skill it took to blend the new addition into the original house and a prior addition. The tile work, cabinetry, counter tops, stucco and wall finishing/paint are all beautiful. Less visible is the plumbing and electrical work it took to tie the buildings together. Once again, very well done. The project came in on budget, plus the cost of the upgrades we requested, and had approved prior to work beginning. I'd recommend PCB to anyone interested in a quality remodel project. They are a really excellent group of people.

We are extremely happy with how the renovation turned out. The contractor was completely professional, as well as their crews. They provided recommendations and were prompt in responding to our request. The craftsmanship of their crews was impeccable. I would refer this contractor to family and friends without hesitation.

Felipe and all of his employees were great! Did a big remodel on our master bath and moved bravely from the 70s to the 21st century! Huge walk in shower and custom vanity is gorgeous! Felipe and Art checked in with us on all decisions and made some excellent recommendations. Finished within the timeline discussed. We have another bathroom to go and will definitely be calling Professional Contracting Builders!

There were several layers of old asphalt roofing replaced with a new metal roof. The facia needed to be repaired and old vents removed.

Contractor replaced a walk-in shower with one they picked out. Work was very professional, and they completed it in a reasonable time including the wallboard repair and floor tile replacement. Also rebuilt back step risers that were starting to rot out. They were good to work with.

I was referred to PCB by a co worker and decided to get a quote for the total remodel of my two bathrooms. They provided me with multiple renderings to show me what the bathrooms would look like (I changed my mind a lot!). That really helped me see the project and what to expect the final outcome to be. Not only were they very professional but they were very patient with me and understanding of my budget. So, i decided to hire them for the job. We had the work start while we were out of the country and within that two weeks they were able to get the entire project within a few days of completion! I trusted their team to be home while I was gone. They were very courteous of my home and the mess the demolition made. I would highly recommend PCB for any project! I will definitely hire them in the future.

I would not recommend Professional Contracting Builders LLC to anyone. They are not professional, fail to comply with building standards, and their work is sub-standard. Once the contractor gets the signed contract and receives the first and second major payments, they do not visit the work site to ensure that work is being done as promised. They assigned a contract manager that is basically inexperienced and lacking in attention to detail. We kept the owner-contractor fully informed, by email, listing items that concerned us. He came to our house displaying an irritative behavior and gave us an ultimatum to stop the emails or he would end further work on the contract. He left our house in an angry mood and walked out on the contract, leaving us with unfinished work. They used unlicensed employees to do the electrical and plumbing work. Light switches were not properly coordinated with lighting and had to be redone. They refused to install GFIs where we requested them, for the microwave and the toaster oven. Receptacle cutouts were sloppy and some cutouts were larger than the cover plates show gaps around the cover plates. We had to insist on a licensed contractor to reconnect our electric stove top. Relocation of the refrigerator water line was done twice and was done by an unlicensed plumber. We're still not sure if the connections were properly sealed and if there are no leaks in the subfloor. While working on this item, the employee forced the refrigerator against the countertop and damaged the refrigerator door. They did replace the refrigerator door after about a 2-month delay. The finished drywall, painting, and flooring looked substandard. Drywall work was done twice and patchwork and re-framed door joint outlines were clearly visible. They left gaps on the hardwood flooring, the transition from wood floor to tile on door threshold was left uneven and shoddy, paint smears were left on all light fixture trims, sloppy tile work (large visible gap) in the pantry. To complete our remodel, we had to hire other, more competent contractors to do the hardwood floors, the pantry shelving, fireplace hearth, tile work, and cleanup of blotched paint and drywall on finished trim.

Overall, they do good work and we were very satisfied with the end result. Our project manager, Cyndee, was wonderful! We had her cell number and communicated with her almost daily during the process. Sometimes she noticed things that needed to be changed or fixed even before we did, which was nice. The process took longer than expected due to an unforeseen supplier issue, but Professional Contracting Builders were good about making it up to us however they could. Not every detail was done correctly or to our liking the first time, but they were good about communicating and coming back to re-do the details until we were satisfied. We did have major issues with one of the subcontractors, but those were addressed by Cyndee and ultimately the sub came back (multiple times) and fixed the issues. All the other subs were GREAT and did excellent work! We would hire them again.

It was a great experience. The contractor gave us a good quote and there were no surprises. The work was completed in a timely manner without the job dragging on. If I had questions, I was given answers immediately.

The team cane early, were professional, timely and cleaned up at the end of each day. We could not have been more impressed with Art DeLaCerda, Cindy the project manager and the carpenters were all great! We will hire again and came in on budget and within timeline - reasonable price. Many other contractors did not show up as we were searching for help - these guys did it all right - we are very pleased. We would highly recommend this team, Daniel & Zoe Martinez

Fairly well. There were flood issues, zoning issues, foundation issues that all had to be solved either before or during construction, so the project took longer than originally planned. The workmanship of most of the subcontractors was excellent, and due to the efforts of Cyndee Bourquet, our building liaison, all issues during construction were resolved. Art DeLaCerda, one of the partners, was always able to respond to questions clearly, especially the financial ones.

They were very professional. They showed up when they said they would, did excellent work and cleaned up everything beautifully. We couldn't have been happier.

well enough not the very best but so far does not leak after a couple of years

Not well. After calling Professional Contracting last week to set up an appointment for them to view the damage caused by a car crashing into my 92 year old mother's home and get an estimate required by the insurance, I was given an appointment in about a week. Upon arriving at the home (20 miles away) on the day of the appointment I waited 30 min past the agreed upon time then called the individual (one of the owners) and he said he was running a little late and asked if it was ok if he showed up 2 hours later. I agreed and continued to wait 2 more hours. 30 min past the revised time I called him again. I was told that he had assigned the meeting and estimate to another employee that was already in my area and that he would call him immediately and get right back to me. Needless to say he never called back to explain anything about their no-show. I called the the individual back for a third time but he did not pick up. I then texted him with the statement that apparently they were too busy to be interested in in this $7-10000 job. His response was "OK". I have no problem with a contractor not wanting to take a job for whatever reason. I do have a problem with an "A" rated contractor blowing off an appointment scheduled (twice) with a customer with no attempt to contact the customer to explain the no-shows and reschedule. This was very bad customer relations and un-professional. Maybe they should change the company name.

Again they did not disappoint. The work was done on time and budget. These guys know what they are doing and how to do quality work.

Professional contracting builders LLC. Did a beautiful job remodeling my bathroom. I was so impressed. All work was completed in a timely manner. All work exceeded my expectations . I would highly recommend this company.

Very efficient, prompt, and friendly and did everything I asked.

This project took teams of contractors 6 days. Everyone was punctual, polite & extremely clean. The area was isolated off from the rest of the house. I had many bids and I would highly recommend these folks - NO issues
