Tile Mart contracted with us to install our tile on Wednesday October 22 (knowing that we have heavy furniture coming on the 30th that has to be installed) on tuesday they called and said the the installers wife was in the hospital and he could not install our tile until Thursday, on Wednesday Tile Mart Called and said that the Installers brother died and he could not install our tile until Saturday, on Friday they called and said that the installers sister was sick and that he would not be able to install our tile before the 30th.

After 33 years, it was time to finally update my kitchen, pantry and utility room. Through word of mouth, I learned of TileMart (4406 Menaul Blvd., NE - 505 830-1952). I looked them up on Angie's List and noted mostly good reviews. Ms. Erika Marquez is the manager and she provided detailed advice and assistance selecting the granite (for the counters) and tile (for the floors). Her expert input and hands on management has assured a beautiful transformation. Ms. Marquez was always available for any questions and she tracked the project from the initial measuring to the finality. Raphael Berjano supervised the on -site labor, inspected the installation of the granite, tile, undermount sink and plumbing through completion. Based on my experience, I highly recommend TileMart. I have before and after pictures to share, but am unsure as to whether or not I will be able to post them.

Tile Mart recently installed kitchen and powder room counter tops, sinks and backslashes in our home. It was a pleasant and satisfying experience from beginning to end. THE RESULTS ARE BEAUTIFUL! It was easy to select our materials in their well-appointed showroom with many, many options. Their final bid was lower than their competitors even though their quote was for counter tops 50% thicker than the big box stores. The project was completed on time and in a timely manor. The craftsmanship was of the highest quality. Our home and yard were left clean and tidy following the installation. We could not tell they were here except for our new beautiful counter tops, sinks and backslashes. We will use Serigo, Erika and their staff again for our future needs and highly recommend them to serve you as well Please note: We are new to Albuquerque and did not know anyone here who had this type of work done. We stopped at Tile Mart after getting quotes from several other stores and ordered the work done. We also needed a painter. We decided to join Angie’s List to help in this process. While on Angie’s List we discovered the other letter about the work Tile Mart did for another member. We were shocked! All we can say is that the work they did for us was the best anyone could ask for and we have very high standards. Jane and Jim

First of all the good points- They were very prompt and showed up early as scheduled and worked a full day every day (FOR ONE WEEK). The Bathtub WALL tile turned out BEAUTIFUL! Unfortunately soon after they began we noticed they DID NOT have proper tools or were prepared for a REMODEL job. They DID NOT bring during the entire week protective tarps /plastic to cover the surrounding master bedroom area furniture from constuction dust etc. DISASTER OF SANDING DUST THE FIRST DAY! We bought our own tarp to cover what we could since it was obvious they were not and didn't mention anything to us. They DID NOT bring a ladder or step stool to reach high areas (they continued to borrow ours every day which was returned and left dirty with plaster etc. They DID NOT have floor mats to cover the hallway traffic in /out during ongoing construction. We luckily had old cardboard in the garage that they asked to use. The drywall /painter laboror WAS NOT an experienced professional (Wish I had known this) because The drywall was left very uneven and glopy which by the way had to be sanded and re finished by them because it was terrible and and quot;heavy lookingand quot;. He never once used painters tape or a small brush to paint in small areas for a sharp clean edge since we had a darker contrasting wall color different than the rest of the bathroom. We were shocked to find out after they finished their work after one week that the drywall /painter guy washed out and emptied all of the rinse /paint water in the FRONT YARD CORNER NEXT TO OUR PLUMB TREE! A 4ft wide area is left stained white and we hope our tree makes it next season. They did not tell or show us BEFORE they installed the new bathtub that the floor under the old whirlpool tub was slightly higher and therefore would make the new floor to be tiled UNEVEN. After they installed the new tub it apparently was too late, The contractor, Sergio said he was afraid to chip the new tub trying to get it out because it fit tightly into that space.so we were left with a choice of having to and quot;Build upand quot; the entire floor to and quot;even it outand quot; but with a slight slant. So they did that and installed floor tile after. We are now left with a bathroom floor that had a slight slope because of this. We were left with several unused boxes of bath and floor tile because they ordered almost twice as much that was needed even after they took area measurements before this project began. I asked for a refund /return of the unopened boxes of tile but they did not return or refund us. Over all I would say they are probably best at bathtub wall and floor tile and definately not experienced or prepared for any remodel construction work. WE thought his remodel project would take approx. 2 weeks to complete but they RUSHED this work into 6 days.

The tiles arrived on time and in good shape. Their price for tile and installation was competitive with other vendors. Very nice people and went out of there way to help us select tiles. No problem what so ever, and they were very professional. I liked the price breakdown between tiles and installation.

After speaking with several granite countertop installers I decided to go with Tile Mart and was sooooo happy that I did. They did an absolutely terrific job with my outdoor kitchen. I couldn't be happier. Tile Mart helped me with not only the proper design to choose they also helped pick out the perfect color and pattern to go with my patio. On top of everything else they were also the least expensive of the installers I spoke with. I would absolutely do business with them again.

Around the third week in March 2011 I noticed a sign in front of the Tile Mart at 4406-A Manual Blvd. in Albuquerque N.M. advertising granite counter tops plus installation for $35.00 a square foot. I stopped in and spoke to Lorenzo who showed me the patterns of granite they offered at the special price. I asked him how long the special price would be available for and he said he thought it would be available until the end of the month but, as long as I put down a deposit I could have the job done at the advertised price although, they would not be available to do the installation until around the third week in April. I fully understood the delay and told Lorenzo I would give him a call. Lorenzo seemed to be a very attentive sales person and he offered me his card I then told him I would give him a call and we could discuss the costs of what I was interested in doing and the approximate square footage I would need. I called Lorenzo a few days later and told him I was going to need to do some changes to the existing cabinets in my kitchen and I would supply him a with drawings to scale with accurate measurements so he could give me some advice about what I needed to do, he said that would be great and I could e-mail him the drawings. I used a computer-aided program for the drawings and then proceeded to e-mail Lorenzo the information asking him to call me when he received the e-mail. I didn't hear back from Lorenzo about the e-mail and decided to drop off the info. since I was going to be in the area, of course, Lorenzo said he never received the e-mail so I handed the drawings to him and told him I would call him later after requesting he look them over with whom would be doing the installation. I called back the following day and Lorenzo and I decided on the approximate numbers of costs for the job which would make the deposit $1200.00, I then placed the order by credit card for that amount. I fully expected to get some kind of confirmation/receipt or contract which went over the policies and basic information usually provided by a professional company but, I heard nothing from Tile Mart for several weeks. I finally called them around the estimated time I was given that they said they could start the job and spoke to Lorenzo once again and asked him when we could get started, thinking they would have to measure the existing counters to give me some kind of instructions and/or evaluate what I wanted for the new counter tops, Lorenzo then set up an appointment for May 10th. On May 10th around 5:30 that night A man named Sergio and an assistant showed up at my residence and I met them at my front door. I wasn't very impressed with the attitude Sergio had from the start! I showed them to my kitchen and started explaining what I wanted and then asked Sergio if he had looked over the plans I dropped off several weeks ago. Needless to say, Sergio had no idea of what I was talking about and then told me he couldn't measure or do anything until I had made all the changes to the cabinets in order for him to measure for templates, and then just stood there with this blank look on his face. Understandably, I may have misunderstood what was suppose to take place at this meeting but, I requested instructions and at least some kind of an idea of how this procedure was to take place many times! This was the first time I wanted to put in new counter tops and I needed some kind of guidance or at least some communication from Tile Mart! Upon Sergio leaving my home he still wasn't able to provide me with a receipt, contract or anything with company procedures or policies and at that time I made the decision to just cancel because I had wasted enough time with these people and they certainly didn't seem very organized or professional. The following day I called Lorenzo and explained why I wanted to cancel and asked him what I needed to do for a refund and he said he would have to let me know after he spoke to the owner, it was during that call that I found out Sergio was the owner and that was all the more reason to cancel! A day or two passed and I still hadn't hear from Lorenzo so I gave him a call and he told me they would have to charge me a $150.00 fee this, of course, irritated me being I didn't sign anything at all with this company about a cancelation fee and if they had communicated properly this wouldn't have had to end this way! All in all, I would have to say that if $160.00 was all it cost me to NOT do business with these jerks it was a good deal after all!!! I suppose things would have probably been nothing less than a nightmare by the time it was all said and done. Tile Mart ended up keeping $160.00 in the end and they told my bank it was a restocking fee...then when I complained to the BBB they said that they had to pay this fee to the company they order from to take the material off of a hold status. I have driven by Tile Mart on Manual many times since and they always have this so called and quot;specialand quot; advertised, plus I doubt if they would really put any material and quot;on holdand quot; until they had proper measurements! It sounds to me like this company just makes decisions on a day to day basis and nothing is ever in writing or structured to a binding contract so Buyer Beware! I have found numerous complaints about Tile Mart! The individuals I had to deal with were: Lorenzo Vasquez (salesperson) Sergio Monarrez (Owner) and Erica Espinoza or Marques (Sec-treasurer)
